The boy who lived, Harry Potter, is having a normal night, sleeping in his cupboard, when he is awoken by screams from above him. The boy falls through a mirror and finds himself in a ruined wasteland. Two years later, Scribe Harry, and a few of his comrades, receive letters to Hogwarts...

Reuploaded! Now with better cover art, and a much better first chapter, if I do say so myself!

(Ever since I read "If Wishes Were Ponies" I wanted to try my hand at the classic "Harry Potter crossover" fic, this will be in much the same style, but a bit different, as it's now a Fallout Equestria crossover as well.)

*Gasp*

Fallout equestria crossovers are so rare, or at least hard to find, and hence finding one that is any good is even harder. Thus far, this is really good.

I love Vernon's reaction to the situation. I mean, yea, that was how he reacted to Hagrid, minus getting a chance/working up the nerve to shiot, but still. I hope to at least see a few snippits of Earthside, because a discussion with the police, with probable obliviators, and maybe even mirror investigations. It was a bit hard to follow, but I don't think the mirror was damaged on either side.

Can't wait for more.

Well, the mirror on the equestria-side is half-submerged in radioactive and corrosive goo, so... Also, props to Vernon for killing a bloatsprite, (Killing bloatflies in Fallout is hard enough, especially at point-blank range, and without VATS too)

I am calling her Jane for now, unless she doesn't mind calling herself Harry.

This premise is amazing, I can't wait to see what happens when she finds her way back to Hogwarts.

This is amazing I can’t wait to see what happens next

I was rereading this, waiting for it to continue, and I was wondering, are any of Harry's Brotherhood of Steel Rangers buddies going to be travelling with her to Hogwarts? That would be incredibly amusing.

10708820
When I get around to continuing it, yes.
I'm currently on a break from the MLP fandom, plus I'm working on my own original book, but when I get back to writing this, yes they will be.

10708967
Hold on, you said you were inspired by If Wishes Were Ponies. Does this mean the Ponyhood of Steel will open diplomatic relations with the Government of Britain?

10721315
Perhaps, I don't know yet, I'm sure they would at least be interested, but ponykind recently came out of an apocalypse and might be a bit warier than most, since a planet with that much population might see the equestrian wasteland as a good source of resources and a perfect place to invade, especially with the wasteland's low population.

They might do what the Wizards did and just say "hey, we exist, keep us secret, ok"

10721320
Yes, but at the same time it's a land with pleantiful unirradiated resources, exclusively accessible to the Steel Rangers. They'd be fools not to take advantage of this at least a little. The Wasteland could maybe repel a human invasion, given how even in their current state they are much more technologically advanced than most nations in the 90's, but keeping themselves secret from all but trusted officials in the British Government would probably be a good idea. Is this Applejack's Rangers or Steel Ranger purists?

If anything, at least the British will be able to pat themselves on the back for so far avoiding what even the literal magical land of unicorns and rainbows couldn't: nuclear annihilation.

10721433
Applejacks Rangers, sorta, that whole event has yet to happen, as this part takes place right before the events of FO:E, but as I said, this is two years before Hogwarts, so while he's growing up in Equestria Harry is very much going to experience those particular events.

10721545
Can't wait to see that. I also can't wait for Dumbledore's reaction to Harry, A: already knowing magic, and B: being perfectly used to killing. You've really stumbled across a golden premise. Your RWBY fic is great, so I trust you to do it justice.

Is this no longer on hiatus?

Well, you've got me hooked on this story idea easily enough. I don't follow very many FOE fics, but the HP crossover clinched the deal for me.

Only criticism would be the overuse of ellipses, but I used to be just as bad with them, so can't really complain.

Oh boy,The first taste of the waste land

10812656
Just wait till' she gets to Hogwarts.

10812696
So she actually will end up at Hogwarts, I was wondering if she would.

You just tripled my excitement for any new updates on the story, I think it would be hilarious if she brought a death claw as a pet:rainbowlaugh:

10812703
Technically in this setting Deathclaws are hellhounds, but they're sapient.

I was just thinking of this story yesterday! Really glad to see it update.
10812696
I know I can't! I've seen plenty of stories where Harry arrives at Hogwarts with weird skills and experiences, but nothing quite like this. By the time she gets there, which I hope is soon, she'll likely already be adept at magic and killing. Dumbledore's reaction should be amazing.

10812864
Oops I forgot but a Balefire phoenix Would be cool And it’s more likely to be on the approved pets list

10812871
Well, don't forget that in Fallout Equestria, Magic is a field of science foccused not just on the casting and development of spells, but on the design, creation, and mantainance of magical machinery.

10812879
Hey, you're right! Can Fawks get radiation poisoning?
10812948
Ohoho, I see where you're going with this. This is going to be like your other crossover, where the two worlds colliding changes both, isn't it? I'm even more intrigued.

10812975
Hopefully this time I won't end up having to sorta give up on the idea because it becomes too complicated... I've more or less cancled Fillies and Monsters because I simply made so many seperate plot lines that I couldn't keep track of them all, and so, when the tournament began and the plot lines were supposeed to come together, I had no idea how...
This time, there won't be that many divergant plot lines.

10812979
Sad to hear what happened to of Fillies, but that makes sense. I'm excited to see what ideas you came up with this time, especially because I actually know Harry Potter.

It's been a while since I read Fallout Equestria, so I am unsure if Littlepip was believed to have died from that train derailing or not. Hence not sure if this is an AU where Littlepip dies, throwing everything further off the rails. Either could be fun, due to the story's uniqueness.

10814186
Littlepip was temporary thought dead, she's still alive, just near the ruins of Cloudsdale currently.

10814218
Ruins of Cloudsdale? Like piles of junk and other non-cloud material on the grouns under where iy got dissipates?

And alright. Makes sense.

10814279
Yeah, in the original FO:E, after the train crash, Littlepip wandered off toward an area that was infested with ghouls, and mostly just a lot of vehicles and broken equipment, that was everything on cloudsdale before it collapsed and fell to the ground.

Wow, I was not expecting another update so soon! This is great!

We're going to get timeskips, right? Because I can't wait to see Dumbledore's reaction, and I don't think we need to see the entire two years she spends in the wastes before she turns 11.

10814323
There will be timeskips, but there are a few important events I'll need to cover (Like the war with the Enclave during the third act of FO:E)

10814636
That makes sense, and what side in the steel ranger split her chapter takes would change everything.

10814832
Getting back into the swing of writing fanfics... Needed a bit of a break from my other projects (I'm writing my own original novel but I've gotten a bit of writers block for that, and I'm working on my own video game but learning to program in C# is... Tiring, to put it mildly)

The bobbies had brought the thing in a few days ago, and placed it in cold storage… The thing was some kind of insect, but horribly oversized… The doctor, Robert Homes, pulled the thing out and began an autopsy, after continuously inspecting it, disappointed that the sample he had was so torn by the shotgun blast that killed it, he was left with one conclusion, this was a new species, one not discovered on earth so far! He was ecstatic, and told his assistant with glee, he would need to do a bit of research, but perhaps he might go down in history, giving his name to this new species of insect! He had picked up the phone, about to address his colleagues in London, not noticing as a man walked up behind him and whispered something “Obliviate-”… Everything he had experienced in the past week had vanished from his mind… The flayed and dissected corpse of the insect was taken off the tray, and without being noticed at all, the man had left, disappearing around the corner, vanishing into thin air with another whisper, the flick of a small twig of wood.

Have I ever mentioned how much I fucking hate wizards? Bet they don't even do anything with the only clue as to Harry's whereabouts either, because they're idiots.

My problems with Rowling's worldbuilding aside, great chapter!

10816433
Indeed. this is why I love when the Statute of Secrecy collapses. There is almost no point in putting the story in modern times if you go out of your way to make it irrelevant.

Another great chapter you’re really picking up speed with these uploads and I love it

10816433
Well, being a closed-soceity so firmly stuck in the past tends to make one a little xenophobic and intentionally ignorant about the outside world, so yeah, wizards suck. I may need to slow down writing for a bit to reread parts of Fallout Equestria, since I kinda forget the order of events after Littlepip kills Topaz and freees Shattered Hoof, since I'm using the radio as a way to keep track of time and tell when and where certain important events occur... Also, hope you caught some of the very important implications of Silver's scan of Harry's scar.

10816814
Well the most obvious revelation is the Ministry Statues are horcruxes, which makes sense. Obviously not full horcruxes though, because if they were than the Main 6 would still be alive, kind of. Anything I missed?

10816851
That, and the spell Avada Kedavra is extremely similar to Pink Cloud and Enervation. Also, horcruxes don't keep you alive, just bind your soul to the physical world, Voldemort had still died when he was hit with Avada, he just turned into a wraith... And, there is a rather suspisious scene in Fallout Equestria, when Littlepip was lost in Canterlot, where she gets greeted by what appears to be the ghosts of the Mane 6. And the "ghost" of Twilight does posess an alicorn after Littlepip blows up Maripony.

10816860
Of course! That all makes perfect sense! I really like how you're connecting the magic systems of these two universes.

10817121
Take a guess what you get if you combine Avada Kedavra, Incendio, Bombarda, Engorgio, take the resulting spell and apply it to a potion, and then take that potion and crystalize it, and then apply a megaspell-framework to the result?

10817312
Yep, ingredients in making a balefire bomb... Of course the spells go by diffrent names in Equestria, but the concept behind them is the same.

The irony of a soul jar is that Fluttershy is the only confirmed survivor of the War that lived to the present day. The bloodlines of the rest of the ponies might be traced, like Applejack's. Yes, the ghost of Twilight was there but it's not clear if she gave up on the living world afterwards.

10817365
Hold on, there are some defenses against Zebra super weapons, right? It's been a while since I've read it. Does this mean Harry could have defenses against Avada Kedavra?

10817515
Wait, how did the Zebras discover these spells? They don't have horns. Do some have wands in this?

10817601
I kinda already explained that, spell patterns, when drawn or enscribed on an object, become talismans, basically wands that are pre-programmed to cast only the spell that had been enscribed on to them. Perhaps the zebras learned that if they painted certain symbols on objects, magic would come from it... After all, the Zebras did evidently have access to magic, they brewed potions, and the Black Book, which was where Rarity learned how to make horcruxes Soul Jars, was Zebra-Made.
