Sorry to challenge your views, Dawnbreak, but this view of Syn's work is not accurate. He puts a lot of time, effort and consideration into his work, as much as any other writer of any other genre. He cares about what he writes and doesn't throw down an idea just for the likes or the attention. The feature this story got was deserved because it was well written, carefully edited and adequately thought through.
I understand that you may be frustrated not at Syn or this story but the fact some fawn over stories with a focus on sexual content. If that is the case then I would ask you to read the story to see it's worth. If you cannot do that then at least look at his tales without "smut" as you call it, such as "Searching for a Beat" or "A Butterfly's kiss" to see that his work does not deserve to be the soundboard for your vexation.

Sorry the story wasn't held up to the highest reguard in story elements, plot though there WILL be some plot >:3 and character development. Pretty sure the tags, description and my normal history would've suggested that it's nothing more than shameless smut.

Hey there. If you want a piece of advice from another writer, it can be quite hard to get back into any story after you have left it alone for a while. It can be that you are not inclined to write it at all. Like you mentioned, a burden. It is normal and a bit of a block. The best medicine is to force yourself through it and try to get back into the swing of things.
Best thing I can recommend you is for example a set writing time. For example, I write for about half an hour before work. It works wonders for me and I am not going out of writing shape as easily anymore as I used to.
And if you want to talk about ideas for this story, I love to converse about stuff like this!
