A washed up old writer who still tries to live in a heyday that has long since passed...

The life of a teenager is always hard, for each and every one of us, although some had it a bit easier than others. A loving family, a group of trusting and wonderful friends, a few after school activities to help keep their minds occupied, and maybe even a special someone to help shoulder the pain if need be. Though, some didn't have is as easy...

My name is Scootaloo, and this is the story of how I learned to grow up in this superficially unfair world, and what growing up meant to me. Through childish banter, teenage angst, and up into coping with the loss of a loved one, I'll walk you through every dirty detail of my life where I changed the most. All thanks to a kind hearted man, with a deep voice and the softest of smiles.

In life, a mentor can help guide you, help you learn many different things that will assist you in the world. Making gaps appear smaller, mountains feel shorter, and help ease the burden of growing up one lesson at a time. But in the end, it's up to you, the individual to use and apply the knowledge in your own life. And that, isn't always as clear cut as some make it out to be...

Firstly I want to give the biggest and most heartfelt thanks to my good friend and fellow writer, Duskhoof for backing this silly story of mine. I'm hoping I can provide him and you all with a touching, heartfelt and somewhat relatable story. If you enjoyed it, make sure to let me know!

This has been only edited by me, so there is bound to be a few mistakes. Scheduling issues with my editors lead to this one having to slip out the gate.

First one here! I already know how much Gold this is so I will preemptively state this. MORE!

A very good story. I'll be tracking this.

Yes I was correct this chapter was pure gold keep up the epic work friend!

I love it so far !

It feels like you’ve really captured the essence of the characters in the story, and even though we know Scootaloo and she is our guide into this unknown tale, she also feels very familiar to real life friends and family. The whole thing feels relatable.

I am personally looking forward to the next part of the story <3

Glad to hear you enjoyed it! :yay:

Alright you got me. You best deliver on the struggles of scoots in school and the pleasure she gets from playing. Maybe even have a moment when silver or diamond break scoots base.

Keep it going. Yay for best pony!

Bravo keep up the epic and great work.

Hell of a nightmare, Scoots...

This chapter really moved me in a way I was sort of expecting it to, but not in the *way* I expected it to. I was expecting hints at the relationship with Bloom and Scootaloo, but not the strength of kinship that they possessed. You didn't take two characters, smush them together and screeched 'now kiss' in the way I might have if asked to design the same scene. Instead, you took a solid foundation of the friendship the show had built for them, and you added a brick, not a house. You made that seem so sweet and real for me, and I loved that you did that.
Jumping back a bit, I really liked how you showed Scootaloo's transition from girl to ~~man... man....~~ woman... derp. This isn't a slice of life anymore, this is a proper coming of age story and actually, if you took this and put original characters in it this could go somewhere, this could be published. I cannot think of a story out in the world about a girl who learns her place in the world through guitar lessons, that's... That's a brand new story you've got in your hands. I went off at a tangent there, Girl to WOMAN; you showed it through her looked at herself, exploring herself which you could have made sexual but you didn't. I liked that.
Then that little hint at the end that maybe, just maybe, Luna is having to keep an eye on her and the concern about Diamond and school the next day was really well touched on too. You didn't jump from thought to thought, you stitched each thread in ever so carefully.
All in all, this is a really strong chapter and you should be proud of it. 😃
