In the freezing cold she winds up meeting an old man who takes her under his wing to be taught in the ways of martial arts as well as a new power involving the elements and animals along with five new friends. Now she fights, rocks and deals with regretful teens and jealous ex band mates while fighting the forces of the shadows

I am wondering if Princess Twilight ever found out about Anon-A-Miss in your story as I can see her being very furious at the Rainbooms and the entire school for abandoning Sunset and choosing to attack her.
I liked the prologue and look forward to seeing the direction this rewrite will go.

Pfft! Tell that to the other Anon-A-Miss stories I have read in the past. That shows that both Celestia/Luna, sometimes Twilight herself, and especially Discord that still have their own magic powers in the Equestria Girls/Human World. ( Probably because they are powerhouses in their own right to keep their magic abilities. )

If I may make a suggestion, do not try and front load everyone's backstories right at the start. There's a question one should as while writing a narrative: "Is this the most interesting moment of my characters' lives? If not, why am I not showing you that?" Or to put it in a way relevant here, trying to get us all up to speed now carries the unfortunate implication that the characters' backstories are more interesting than the actual main plot. Ease us into the backstory, don't dump it all on us at once, because if we don't get invested in who they are NOW, how could we care about who they were in the past?

OK, I'm so, so sorry for being logical here and ruining the moment. But there's something about Sunset that doesn't make any sense. Let me explain: While Sunset was gone; mind you all, the Rainbooms; no doubt along with some other students showed aswell, broke into her apartment, thrashed it and stole her journal. Which is clearly not only trespassing but also an invasion of privacy, destruction of personal property and stealing.
So the question I have is, why didn't Sunset; oh I don't know, called The Police?!
