Reminds me of the fic Arrow 18 where the literal English translation of place names from ponish was really long. Canterlot was "The Cantering City Along Side the Mountain of the Rising Sun".
I made it two words into that name and just scrolled down to save me the headache. Good story though.

Hmm, welp that's a mare not a stallion. MLP FiM has a couple of specific body/ head templates for stallions. No mare/ stallion templates had ever been interchangeable in the history of the show; that is, no character uses a mare template but is voiced by a male actor being a male pony character. And vice versa.
What you see is specific mare template, but with kirin body-&-head characteristics added on. Here is the standard MLP FiM stallion template; the key is the snout:

The angular "Roman nose" snout was established as early as Season 1, when the studio depicted Celestia's palace guards. Ofc the animators gave the guards strong snouts to indicate strength and authority. But then the characteristic stuck, and the animators gave them to all stallions of different body types. Even foals and colts have this snout, but it's not universal.
I highly doubt the studio will keep kirins entirely female, if they ever become regulars. But if we never see them again (1 season to go), the canon will always be we did not see any stallions, anywhere, anywhen. Tellingly, even the stallion characters in Autumn's Phantom Of The Opera are played by female kirin. Does this mean the kirin species is like black widows and mantis females, and kidnap/seduce/kill stallions when they wanna mate? LOL. I think it's fun to imagine kirin as all-female, like Amazons.

It's common practice for stage actors of either sex to play characters of either sex. It's practically a tradition in Asia, where qilin/ kirin are from. Not saying MLP kirin are from some sort of "East", but food for thought.
I personally think it would be wildly interesting if kirin have no males, both from a xenobiological/ anthropological perspective, and from a fanfic perspective. Makes me snicker about how that episode would have gone, if MLP FiM's protagonists are male rather than female.
