Very divisible.

Ponies take to dance numbers like fish to water. Humans... do not. When Pinkie Pie gets up to her old tricks during a shopping trip, the other girls try to resist the Equestrian magic and its latest compelling song.

A one-shot spin-off of What They Expect to Give, my mature AU EQG romance drama. Takes place a few years before.

sweet short story. Good song lyrics. Cool to see more of how they deal with magic in a non-magical world.

“They aren’t the only ones!” Pinkie said with a little hop. “How about it, girls? That was mega fun, wasn’t it? Let’s go again!”

Thanks! I have a pipe dream some day I can put tunes to all of these. I managed a very tentative freshman effort at songcraft with an instrument and singing just recently.

She is the bringer of cakes and chaos. Truly a goddess worthy of praise!

That beginning though.. :rainbowlaugh:

...Nice.. story. Not normally the type that would be my cup of tea, but I really enjoyed this. Good work! :raritywink:

Heh, I felt like an imp writing that intro, but I just couldn't resist.

Glad you liked it!

Delightful, and thankfully for the others' sanity, at least it didn't end:

Pinkie: Again? Let’s go!

All: No!

Can't spell trouble without Pinkie Pie :rainbowlaugh:

I think they were all rhymed out!

Certainly not! She crosses the T with frosting.

HCHL 13 is started, btw. I've just been... waylaid.

This deserves more votes: it is silly, it deals with a logical issue, and it has a brilliant solution.

All in all, it was a good read.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate you reading.

"Ponies take to dance numbers like fish to water. Humans... do not."
*Looks at Equestria Girls.* It's quite an AU if that statement is true. :D

Ha! Yeah, I suppose you're right.

What tune is the song sung to?

Maybe there's something in the cafeteria food at CHS. Or something about the cafeteria itself. (Crystal Prep gets a pass. I can easily believe both that Abacus Cinch passionately believes in instilling the virtue of publicly capitulating to peer pressure (after all, the ones who don't go along with it just make themselves obvious targets and/or suspects after somebody deals with the source of the peer pressure privately) and that she's developed a suite of easily-adapted songs covering the topic she uses so often that every current and previous student knows the tunes by heart and can at least join in on the choruses.)

What song was referenced other than that Pinkie Pie song?

You mean when AJ talks about having sung and danced last week?

It's not referring to anything specific. It's just stating that this is a somewhat frequent occurrence.

No, I meant when they sang. I don't know which tune they sang it with.

I never came up with a tune for it, sadly. I usually do, but I didn't write a melody.

Well that's unfortunate. The lyrics were pretty good.

Thank you! I'd like to do something for it someday. I'm a complete amateur at making music, so I struggled finding a solid tune.

Fun exploration of the concept. Forgotten Friendship demonstrated just how bad the magical contamination has gotten. Thank you for this.
