Although it left it, it knew that it was right, it made it down, because it didn't know what's up.

It was a perfect morning in Ponyville.

Twilight had stepped outside only to spot a typewriter on her doorstep.

Excited, Twilight brings the typewriter inside to test it. This could be fun!

Perhaps she could write something up?

Art by dervonnebenaan as a 'free to use' image. Thanks.

It was then that Twilight realised that neither cakes nor Celestia had been in any of the stories she had written.

That ending.

:trollestia:But how 'bout dem Bananas?

You are a silly writer and you should feel good.

:trixieshiftright: Evil typewriters. Who comes up with ideas like that?

(But what happened to Trixie when twilight didn't teleport to the rescue?! :raritydespair:)

Nice story. Felt very Twilight Zone. You probably could have made something more of it if it wasn't resolved so quickly, but that's your choice. (I suppose "I wish there was more" is a compliment, eh?) Perhaps using the typewriter to also resolve the problems.

Notable error: When Twilight's friends show up, you switch to present tense suddenly. You may want to correct that.

Still, a good read.

5113626 Oh my, I didn't even see that, thank you so much! What an embarrassing error. Hmm I'm tossing it up between actually continuing this for one more chapter to deal with the typewriter itself or just leaving as is, it feels open ended this way. Actually I might switch it to incomplete and if there's enough want for more I may oblige, ha ha. Thanks for reading!

Wait . . . If there were no cakes in any of Twilight's stories, then how did Pinkie's cakes start talking?

... does that typewriter have only two buttons and a space bar?

5149369 Yep. As it is depicted in the show.

5149413 Never noticed that before, Can't even Imagine how that works:rainbowlaugh:

5149419 Hah, me neither, I've learnt not to question some things, or I'd end up like Twilight.

5149419
I like to think some variant of morse code.

5156952 If that were the case, if it transferred a binary code into text, then that is not a typewriter.:derpyderp2:

It is a small computer.:derpytongue2:

5157467
A mechanical computer, and not a very advanced one even by 19th century standards.

5158366 I donno... to be able to translate a stream of two symbols into coherent, letter based text is quite tricky, especially for something so small and portable.

Especially considering that the first calculator wasn't invented to mid 20th century, and even then, was as big as a large room.

Not to mention learning how to use the thing.

5158394
If it were programmable, I'd agree, but as it is I think it simple enough.

5158415 I suppose your write about that, Morse code isn't too tricky.

Prepare for trouble!
Make it double!
To protect the world from devastation!
To unite all peoples within our nation!
To denounce the evils of truth and love!
To extend our reach to the stars above!
Jessie!
James!
Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light!
Surrender now, or prepare to fight!
Meowth!
That's right!

What are you fools doing here‽

This is your only warning. Leave, before I call upon Joan Arche, the Thunderslayer, and Fluffles, the adorable siren of DOOM!

5214029
Roll with It is the reason, go to it and read the comments and you shall understand the epic quest I had given myself.

5214434

Huh, I'm reading that right now, actually.

Also, in case you were wondering, "Joan Arche" and "Fluffles" are literal nicknames I've given a couple pokemon on this runthrough of White 2; Joan is a female Excadrill (which reminds me of a knight) I named after Joan of Arc, and Fluffles is a Skill Link Cincinno.

5214473 Oh noes, your going to drill my anus :pinkiegasp:

jk but cool :p

5214478

Waaait a minute. Is it because the chapters add up to "Prepare for trouble, make it double"?

5214639

Team Plasma makes me chuckle.

"Might makes right, so if I win, hand over your pokemon."

*Flattens him*

Now give me YOUR pokemon, punk!

I wish that was actually possible...

5214702 oh god I can imagine it now, good/evil pathways, that'd be sick

5214852

Good/Neutral/Evil

Good, where you are a paragon of society
Neutral, where you're a complete jerk to evil people, but generally nice when it matters
Evil, where you're just a complete jerk to everyone, and they wind up realizing they'd be better off with Team _______. :pinkiehappy:

5214933 Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

Nintendo plz :pinkiecrazy:

well wouldn't mind reading more of this.
