Now this is how you do an "Pony saves Humanity" story, see people you can do this without sacrificing our humanity or their ponyanity.

This is very good.

*Standing Ovation*

Wait isn't oneshotober supposed to be one shot each day?

5100819 To be honest, there's no way I could do a story a day.

5100830 To be honest i could, but i don't want to. Now i want to write a revenge kind of fic about Rainbow Rocks.

And so, with only 3526 words, you have put the entire TCB, anti-TCB, humanity-superior and ponies-superior to shame, a truly noteworthy feat that, quite frankly, should be celebrated throughout the entire fandom. I have nothing to offer but very loud and meant applause for your work here. You wrote Celestia and her ponies as they would be, and you did the same with the humans, showing both the good and the evil. It is a story of new hope born out of tragedy. No doubt there will be those who will find a way to twist Celestia's actions here into something evil and vile, because there is no way Celestia could be genuinely good according to them. What they don't realise is that if there had been a way to save all eight billion humans, without that coming at the cost of their ponies and their neighbouring sentient species, Celestia and Luna would have done so.

Truly a masterpiece. Well done, sir, well done.

DISLIKED FOR NO REASON WHATSOEVER!!!

YAAAAAYYY!!! :yay:

5100970 Eh, there's always a reason for disliking a story.

If you give a reader a good story, he will ask for more. :twilightsheepish:

GMD

5100973 Yea, but I disliked fo no reason!!!!! :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

5100998 You disliked it because you wanted to. Simple as that.

5100944 Um... yeah, what he said.

5100944 Thank you. I wanted to convey some realism as much as possible. I like to think I did just that.

GMD

5101005 D'ahh, you got me.

So this Celestia isn't the infamous one from The Conversion Bureau, where she enslaves the minds of humanity and turns them into ponies?

Cool! Hope I don't end up disappointed when I read this.

5101081 Nah, that story form is beaten to death. This is Celestia being Celestia (in my mind). I don't see a lot of stories where she does something like this without focusing on just one character.

5101099

Sounds good. I do like stories where ponies save humanity, along with keeping our human form.

Anyway. I'll read this later and let you know what I think of your work.

5101060 That's okay. Just be honest when you dislike a story. That's all I ask.

You essentially just bitch slapped the Conversion Bureau.....

..and I love it.

5101157 Not intentionally...:twilightblush:

i like it... different approach to the whole human "issue" the end of the world
this could be a nice start for a long story.... just saying

5101273 It was originally going to be the end of MDC, but I scrapped the idea. It became this.

5101281 well... when you talk about it like that... DAME, you had some dark ideas... apocalypse now, age of equestria.

still,
the idea of earth ending don't have a lot of storys in the fandom (not ones that i know) and the approach of noah's arc more or less, having chosen people to go to a new life is a different way, but good one... Savior Celestia

5101300 I could have had Discord save Earth.

"Cotton candy! Cotton candy and chocolate rain for everybody!"

5101307 that could be a follow up story
Celestia re opens the rift to find that humanity had fallen to the hand of Discord

5101307 Is it bad that I want to read about that now?

This was beautiful.

Thanks for writing! :pinkiesad2:

Looks like there might be a little bit of demand for another story...

5101799 i might force him... will bribe him with another plush :moustache:

Are you going to add this to the Humans aren't Bastards group?

Humans are tougher than cockroaches. Those who stayed on Earth survived. Not a lot of them, not in pretty way, but they did.

5102076 think Mad Max, but in an ice age...

5102341 I thought about something more in line of Metro 2033, but Mad Max works as well.

5102006 I might have missed that. I will do just that.

It is a nice item! It earns the like, especially from the PoV of a man remembering his young past.

This is beautiful. :pinkiesad2:

The timing is great for the way it was told, the descriptions make it really seem like it was a memory! I love everything about this!:raritystarry:

Congratulations on getting Featured!

Regardless of the circumstances, I'd still refuse to worship them... but I would be grateful for what they did.

I enjoyed the hell out of this. I won't sugar coat it: I liked it because it pushed all the right buttons for me, from humanity not being evil or completely incompetent dickheads to Celestia being the wise, benevolent ruler I see her as. You made a situation where the ponies could help the humans without glorifying or degrading either one, and for that you have earned my favorite. I wish there were more stories like this, but now I'm just rambling. Not that you need it, but good job.

Edit: I'm interested to see a potential follow up story where a recovered and flourishing humanity in Equestria's world and the ravaged, desperate humanity left on what remains of Earth interact in some way. It could be an interesting look at morality and how the environment one grows up in can influence morality and who you are as a person without being condescending or arrogant.

I like it.
Granted I highly doubt that all the humans back on Terra are wiped out. You can go from 7 billion to zip with just volcanic activity and some social disorder. Lesser species than Man has pull through that. Hell *WE* pulled through that if

is to be believed.

Although I'm willing to be there is some bona fide Mad Max shit going on.

5102657 whaaaa???

:checks:
:pinkiegasp:

This was amazing, and touched my heart. I'd really like to see a sequel, with the rift being reopened, and the results of the extinction level event being seen, and the remains of humanity, if there are any. Their probably mad maxing that shit up.

5103193

And it's because you did that I found this story. Damned good job, Scarheart. Damned fine job indeed.

A truly beautiful science-fiction story, pro-Pony without being anti-Human. I loved it.

I wanna know what happened to the rest of the world.

5103507 I like having it both ways!

5102668 it would still be an awesome sight to behold

5103148 Humans are tough buggers. There would be survivors, no doubt.

5103419 I'm still developing as a writer and was exploring a different approach. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for the follow!

This story was ... amazing.
That's really the only word that I can think to describe this.
Absolutely amazing.
