If Ghost did that, I would be thoroughly surprised and try to read it. I would probably get so pissed off. It's, like, you could immediately go down and look at the footnote and spoil sections of the story as you scroll down, and spoil another good amount of things scrolling back up, trying in vain to find your spot again. Or you can wait until you reach the end and try reading those footnotes again, by which time you will have forgotten what they were attached to, not giving a damn when all the context has flown out the window and the giant MWoT[1] of numbers and words looks like a fuckheug cluster-fuck of !raeg inducing tripe that makes you want to An Herocide in the most inconvenient place for the next person to find you.
And when you're done piecing together everything, you realize Ghost was going for angry sex in the story the whole time. Or maybe it was just the story's ambiguous nature.
