Just as a question. If you are going to write a romantic shipfic why would you not simply include love scenes in the fic. I mean if you altered the language and lowered the description it would be fitting and tastefull. And maybe we could start to take back the Mature rating from the exploitation fics.
2719999 this isn't a ship fic in the sense you're thinking it is. Consider this a 'deleted scenes' from my original romance fic Breaking Barriers.
What you see before you are simply the four or five deleted scenes I passed over while writing barriers to keep it T rated. So essentially they set up some context in the beginning, follow that context to the next scene. Its like deleted scenes on dvds and stuff.

No I mean these scenes should have been left in the original fic or left deleted. They should not be a stand alone fic because they are just sex scenes, not a story.
Whereas in the original fic these would add to and enhance connection and investment in the characters, here it's just something for people to masturbate to.
Stuff like this is why everyone considers Mature fics to be pure porn and improper despite the fact that vast amounts of novels contain some sex and it's considered perfectly normal.
The very fact that you are writing porn scenes from a Teen fic seems oxymoronic.

2720108 While it is unfortunate that the mature sex tag is marginalized, the whole reason it exists is to tag any graphic sexual content, which is what I did. You may think these scenes are not doing the sex tag justice, but that's your opinion and that's fine. I didn't put these scenes into barriers for a few reasons: One, there was nothing added to that story by inserting them. By implying they had sex, just as much seriousness was conveyed about the relationship between the two than if I'd spent another 3k words describing it in detail.
secondly, a lot of people seemed to like Mac and Dash together. A lot of those people just wanted to read a romance story between the two of them, without getting into the graphic sexual descriptions of the two of them having sex. Now, some of them might have wanted the sex scenes or maybe didn't care and would have skipped over them. For those who did want the sex scenes, I'm writing this. There's plenty of clop out there already, and I wanted to keep my T story T rated, and give readers the option of reading the clop if they wanted without having to skip over it because it was in-chapter.
thirdly and most shallowly, M rated fics generally don't get as many views as T rated or less fics. There are far less cloppers out there than there are regular readers who just want a friendly story about ponies falling in love with no detailed sexual moments. On top of that, I wouldn't have been able to submit this to EqD if I'd kept the sex scenes in it. Having the Mature tag on a fic limits said fic in ways I didn't want barriers limited, so I wrote these vignette like scenes as a bit of practice.
Hope that helps you to understand my reasoning.

You should just link this story from the end of the chapter before it (in the teen rated story). That way people have access to it, and your other story can maintain its teen rating.
By the way, I just want to say I appreciated the realistic aspect of this. Some other writers who try to incorporate sex into their stories say really awkward stuff that either they've seen in other fics or they came up with due to lack of knowledge on the subject (I read a clopfic once where the writer was seemingly intelligent until he said something like, "He broke through her cervix, sending them both into orgasm."

I agree. BB needed something like this, suitably toned down perhaps. You can tell this wasn’t just meant to be porn because explicit references to anatomy are few and tasteful. Having experienced Mac and Rainbow’s relationship from the start, I appreciate the emotional release this fic finally provided. It was hard to ride alongside them for so long and then not be there when they took the next step.
Looks like this series will remain incomplete. That’s a shame, considering all the remaining romantic omissions (that’s O-missions, pervs) from BB.
