I'm older than your average brony, but then I've always enjoyed cartoons. I'm an experienced reviewer, EqD pre-reader, and occasional author.

Twilight Sparkle definitely learned her lesson from her last time-travel experience. This one's not her fault. Really. Sometimes nature can be... annoying.

Many thanks to Uma for the story idea.

.....problem with this is that it was said that the spell is only one use.

Her attention finally fell to the folded sheet of paper clutched in her hoof. Across the top, her own characteristic writing beckoned to her. “So You’re Caught in a Time Anomaly: Your Questions Answered.”

I've always dreamed that this would happen to me one day.

That's not unusual for me. I write a lot of these things for contests, so I'll upload them here to check the formatting, but leave them unpublished. Then when they finally cycle back through my revision pile, I submit them to EqD. That was only a few weeks ago.

I lost count of the number of paradoxes, but oh so funny :pinkiehappy:

This made me laugh so hard. Poor Twily..:twilightoops::rainbowlaugh:

ah time paradoxes, constant stream of amusement

I'm getting seriously tempted to go back in time and kill H.G. Wells when he was just a boy.

Repeatedly.

:facehoof:

4052839 wait... a few hours ago it said this was first published in june of last year... now it's first on the 'new stories' list and says it was first published today.
... have you been playing around with time travel? haven't Twilight's misadventures taught you anything?? Lincoln wasn't the 16th president originally, was he?!

4053152
It takes a while for the "Last Modified" date to update sometimes, but the date next to the chapter probably still shows the original creation date. And Lincoln was the 381st president, at least for his first term.

This reminds me of that episode of Sealab 2021 where Quinn and. Stormy keep going back in time. WHERE'S THE DODGEBALL CANNON?!

Without a word, Twilight weaved her way through the multitude of herself—herselves? Maybe there should be a word for that now.

Perhaps Twilight should ask Cheerrilee for a quick lesson in Equestrian Grammar and Conjugation with Privileged Temporal Frames of Reference :derpytongue2:

That was... beautiful!

:twilightangry2:

4054385 that was beautifully fun! :twilighthappy:

Wibbly-Wobbly Timey-Wimey!

So You’re Caught in a Time Anomaly: Your Questions Answered.

Methinks Twilight has her first book to be published...

Of course in reality when Twilight doesn't cast the spell she'll wait for the others to vanish and they'll just be like WHY ARE WE NOT VANISHING THIS IS TERRIBLE :twilightoops: It's very important to be realistic when it comes to purple unicorn time magic.

4055161 It's a pamphlet

This is one of the best time-loop stories I have ever read. :pinkiehappy:

There's some kind of weird feedback in your use of direct-thought narration as dialogue tags that makes the first couple scenes feel really fast-paced. Is that just my imagination?

4056338

A pamphlet is a small, unpublished paperback book.

This particular one has information nopony has ever researched before, and if I were Twilight, I'd have it published, thus making it a book.

Time paradox! No time to explain! 5 out of 5!

Top three best time travel/horse words stories. I say top three only because the other two are The Best Night Ever and Hard Reset, so, that's some pretty distinguished company you're keeping.

4057393 Hard Reset is more of a time loop story though. :rainbowhuh:

4058908 What, and this isn't a time loop story?

So when she burped, she was sent back a few minutes.
What if it had come out the other end?
I'm so immature...

4059251 I don't know I haven't gotten around to reading it just yet.

The best way to stop hiccups is to try and hiccup.

4057393
Have you read Hard Reset:2 Reset Harder?

4059251
As multiple instances of herself are being made, no it is not a time loop story (in the Groundhog Day sense) it is a time travel story. Similar, but not quite the same. The main difference is if the world is being reset around the main character(s) time travel or not.

4060603 I haven't yet. I'm waiting for it to be finished.

4060616 The world is actually being reset, though, since Twilight Zero's first time through the loop doesn't involve seeing any other Twilights. The world is progressively changed as more and more Twilights get caught up in this loop.

I want that pamphlet:pinkiehappy:
Love the story BTW

Scare Team? :rainbowlaugh: Count on Twilight(s) to get organized even after the situation has gone completely off the rails. It would've been funny to have Spike running around slapping numbers on all the Twilights.

There are no words for how hard I was laughing for the past 15 minutes. I'm nearly positive the entire building is now awake XD

The best humour is the stuff that's entirely in character.

4052630
Twilight just has to go back in time and prevent her earlier self from using it up! :facehoof:

Very, very much funny!:rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh:

4060728
If she can see more than one of herself at any point in the story, the world is NOT being reset.
Have you even watched Groundhog Day?

I am confused and amused.

4062303 there's more than one kind of time loop?

4062303 I don't even know why we're arguing about this. I'm not saying this is, plotwise, exactly the same story as Groundhog Day or Best Night Ever. Maybe you gave different tiny genre niches in your head than I do in mine. But I think we should both be able to agree on this: it is reasonable to describe this, along with Hard Reset and Best Night Ever, as time travel stories regardless of the precise details involved. It's a big genre.

:pinkiegasp::rainbowhuh::raritycry::twilightangry2: I am so confused... but incredibly amused. Well done. :pinkiehappy:

Great story - both at comedy and general concept side. Hope to see more comedic stories from you. Cheers

4062601
His point is that in hard reset, if it was based on time travel, the person who is looping back would see himself where he traveling through time. Because you are simply going back to the beginning of something you aren't truly traveling back in time, because you don't see yourself.

Personally, I would say it is unreasonable to include hard reset because there is no instance in which someone travels back in time relative to the rest of the universe.

4063945 Twilight returns to a fixed point in time with information from future possible events. How is that not a time travel story?

4062303
Agreed
4057200
pamphlet: small booklet or leaflet containing information or arguments about a single subject.(from the dictionary)
book: a written or printed work consisting of pages glued or sewn together along one side and bound in covers. (also from the dictionary)
It seems that a book must contain multiple pages and, as such, a pamphlet is not a book, published or not.

4059251
THERE IS NO LOOP. TELL ME WHERE THE LOOP IS.

4064005 yeesh. Ponyfic subsubsubgenres are srs bznss apparently.

Also.
