A new red star appears in the sky. It streaks across with unnatural swiftness. With it comes a new threat, raining down from the day sky in great strands of death that eats all organic matter it can find, leaving the terrain scarred and ponies dead.

Based on Anne McCaffrey's Dragonriders of Pern, but set in Equestria. We will not be using Pern characters, nor is it required you read any Pern books, or even know what Pern is, in the end. This is a story set in Equestria, with the ponies having to deal with a new natural threat/calamity and hopefully rising to the occasion.

A draconic creature is brought back to the land of Equestria with a bad case of amnesia. But when he comes home, the unfortunate history between ponies and dragons is revealed. The girls are met with their most difficult, dangerous, and emotional challenge yet.

The story takes place after the events of 'The Ending of the End' from season 9.

Spike and Smolder go to the Dragon Lands to celebrate with the other dragons for the Festival of Dragon Lords. While there, Spike meets a young dragon with aspirations to be just like him. Flattered to be a role model, Spike agrees to hang out with him during the festival, unaware of who the young dragon is or the series of events that will follow that could result in the destruction of all of Equestria.

As Twilight and her friends open the School of Friendship, a variety of ponies and creatures will attend there to learn the magic of friendship. Two new additions to the school will be a pair of dragon twins. Contrast to Smolder, these dragons question more to how

Twilight is reminded yet again how little she knows about dragons and it's up to her and her friends to figure out a way to help Spike. At least she has Ember as a friend to help her understand whats going on and guide her to a possible solution.

Flurry Heart is now a alicorn filly and while her parents and Twilight along with Dragon Lord Ember are away she's left in the care of uncle Spike who is now a gigantic gentle dragon while all is wonderful an old enemy shows his face and Spike must protect Flurry Heart from it.
