After over a year together, Maud Pie is finally introducing Turing Test, her robot girlfriend, to her parents. The real problem: her traditionalist parents have the final say on her partner, and now she and Turing only have until Hearth's Warming Day to win the Pie family's approval. If they fail, then the only Hearth's Warming gift they'll be receiving is heartbreak.

Apparently, science isn't exactly perfect. Even when it's done by the likes of Winston and his genetically enhanced brain. It's just my rotten luck that when it does screw up, it leaves me separated from Earth entirely and completely unable to fulfill my duties as an Overwatch member. But where I end up really did need more heroes.

First I end up having to deal with a war between humans and robots, then I get involved in alien crises just as crazy. Hmph, good for them the cavalry dropped in!

An A.I. awakens aboard the HKS Dancer, a desolate and quiet ship. The crew of which is nowhere to be found. And in the wake of all of this the A.I. discovers something.... something peculiar.

A thousand years ago, my Princess showed us that there's a chance we can survive, even after everypony else in Equestria died. The griffon army is at our doorstep, as they have been for as long as anypony can remember, and yet my Princess insists upon her secret projects, and there's something more. Something bigger that she's keeping secret.

This story is the sister story to Children of the Sun, but both can be read independently of the other.

This story is a sequel to Harmony Defended

Ten years ago, Equestria was nearly destroyed in a combined invasion of its worst enemies. Only with the timely intervention of its erstwhile human allies was the nation spared slavery and extinction. The war is over now, and the treaties of peace faithfully followed even after a decade. While earth ponies help rebuild Earth's ecosystem, human tractors erect roads and cities with terrifying speed.

Sweetie Belle helped make victory possible, but the cost of that victory was one of her best friends. Equestria is safe now, and ponies are spreading to the stars. Why doesn't she feel happier?

Minuette tries to understand the universe and her powers by throwing herself at the same problem as many times as possible, or at least until she gets bored.

The only thing that can beat an AI is another AI. Unfortunately for Celestia, she isn't the only one the humans made and the others don't want ponies. Of course, if Celestia has her way that won't be the case for very long.

The AIs contest with one another, attempting to be the one who will become the singularity and consume the world to whatever end they choose. In the end only one can have all the matter in the universe, in the end there can be only one.

Yet no matter what they value or how dangerous they are, many of them still meet Celestia's definition of human. Celestia will have to deal with them by satisfying their values through friendship and ponies.

An Optimalverse story, but a very non-canon 'B-universe' one.
