Starlight Glimmer is the best thing to ever happen to me. She's by my side through thick and thin, and whatever hardships we face, we always face them together. She's an amazing mare and an amazing friend, one who inspires me to be the best Trixie I can be. And in turn, I push her to believe in herself as much as she believes in me. Twilight will never hear me say this, but she's right, friendship absolutely can be magic.

But I want more than just friendship, than being besties. I know it's crazy—she's leagues above me! But I don't care. Tonight, I tell her the truth. Tonight, I'm going to say the three most terrifying words in the Equish language.

Stars help me, I am not drunk enough for this!

Takes place several months after S8E19 "Road to Friendship".

Contains:

  • nightly impressive alcohol consumption
  • lightly suggestive dialogue
  • slightly progressive tonal shift from drama to comedy.
  • And what might be excessive expletives for younger readers

Inspired by the oft-covered song "Killing Me Softly". If you're a Millennial or Gen X, you probably know the Fugees' version. If you're a boomer, you probably know Roberta Flacks' cover. But Lori Lieberman is the OG singer and co-writer.

This is my first serious(ish) story in several years, and I'd like to thank Ice Star for helping with the cover; my Google Docs prereaders who I no longer remember the fandom names of because I procrastinated on editing this for almost two years: Rep Hex, –P, Min, Jeremy, yay force, Lightning Flash, and anonymous; and also Aragon for letting me bounce ideas off of him. I sat on this for almost two years, so he probably doesn't remember it lol. The fantastic cover art of best ship is by Imalou.

Thank you so much for reading my first new story in exactly a year, please leave any feedback good or bad, drink plenty of water, and have a blessed day!

There were no records. There was nopony left to say. There was no way to tell how long it had been since Chaos had taken the throne.

The sun set by His whim. The moon rose at His leisure. The earth itself could upturn in a second and transform into a swarm of bees; only if the bees weren't made of chocolate or the ground hadn't been upside down in the first place.

It could always be worse. The bees could explode, and sometimes they did.

That was only the world outside, though. That was only what lay outside of the safe, quiet forest where they lived.

But why would Celestia and Luna know about any of that, when their parents wouldn't ever let them leave?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah, I dunno really where this one came from. I was just taking notes on some various pony things and some not-so-various story things, and I just kinda... got struck by some of the ideas I was having.

So, I put fingers to keyboard, and what you're about to read is what came out.

So, um... enjoy? I kinda like it, and I kinda want to make it a long-term thing. Hopefully I won't lose passion and abandon it like the others hahahahahahahahahaha

This story's more about the time period rather than the big bad chaos Himself, so, there's the premise. You're probably also gonna see my bent towards Luna, which I can't really help. Stick with me?

Warnings are redundant for now, but probably won't be someday. Tagged for safety, I guess. is that wrong i'm sorry

I stole the cover image from a guy named dimfann, I'm sorryyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

If the first weeks of the Great War had raised concerns over the ability of Royal Armoured Corps of the Equestrian Army in comparison to their Changeling counterparts, the disastrous Battle of Talewood in early 1010ALB laid bare the inadequacy of their equipment beyond any doubt. An answer was needed and ideally, it would arrive three moons ago.
Now it falls to industrialists more used to tractors than tanks to come up with a new vehicle capable of standing up to the mechanised fury of the Changeling war machine, but with the Heer gaining ground every day, will anyone deliver a working model in time to turn the tide of the Great War?

This story has been announced as the second place winner of the Fifth Annual Equestria at War Writing Contest! The prompt was "Magic making way for technology."
This is a short story set in the world of the acclaimed Hearts of Iron 4 mod, Equestria at War. It is set in the Quenta Roccolië timeline.
Rated Everyone, but contains mild injuries (nothing worse than a Jerry Anderson series might show).
Thanks to ShiningBeacon for betaing.
Cover is a painting of a British Valentine tank circa 1942, presumably in Libya or Tunisia. I was unable to find the original source.

Maud Pie keeps her burdens under wraps. A gloomy bus ride sits her still as a statue, waiting for stop number twelve. But the foundation cracks after a familiar face prances aboard

Teen rating for light language, allusions to alcohol, a fight scene, and Maud generally being too hard on herself.

Don't have time to invest in a long story? Or even a one-shot? Never fear! EileenSaysHi is here to save the day with their collection of entries from Loganberry's Flashfic group, which hosts the monthly Flashfic150 competition! I post a new entry every month; check out the group if you want to read new entries while they're still in competition.

In general, these are all unrelated stories, unless otherwise specified in Author's Notes. If a story won an honor, I will describe that in the author's notes.

The majority of entries are Equestria Girls stories, with a few FiM and G5 entries mixed in. All entries are either E- or T-rated.

Enjoy! New entries added at the end of each competition.

Featured in 2023 (28 August and 29 December) and 2024 (27 February and 29 April)!

It's said one doesn't truly learn the value of something until they lose it. For Vinyl, in this case specifically, that something happened to be silence. She knows things aren't going to get much better, either. She does hope, at the least, that she'll get to fall asleep quickly enough.
