On one fateful day Prince Solar Storm is framed for a crime he didn't commit. Banished from his home with nopony but a small group of supporters, he eventually finds himself on a large unclaimed island. He however soon forms the Solar Kingdom from which he proclaims himself King.

The prologue starts a couple years before the mane 6 is born.

Taking a key as a reward, it's what started all this, a tampered key. The key is glowing, and the Corpus have found her. It all happened too quick to remember, a bright flash and suddenly the heat of the upper atmosphere is breaking the glass, Ordis is offline and the ground's getting close.

(Finally, I have started working on a project I've had in my head since I was 14. Yes, six years later, and here I am writing it as it was meant to be. As a last resort, her thoughts turn to Starswirl's Magic Mirror, that it could show Sunset a new way, or to a path of darkness, but then something or rather somepony comes as her solution. Sunset now finds herself teaching her own student, a bookish and anti-social young Unicorn named Twilight Sparkle. Can the two form an actual connection, or will their anti-social tendencies lead to disaster?
