25 years later

I was reading an intelligence report made from my SIS agents, whom I had sent into my former home country of Equestria, their primary aim was to find out why the moon hadn't set, when all of a sudden my top advisor, Quick Notes rushed in holding a communication crystal. 

"Terrible sorry your majesty but urgent news has came in from our agents in Canterlot" He said rather hurriedly.

I accepted the crystal and retreated out of the room. Placing a sound proof bubble around my office, I said the password (Flare) which made a projection of a small, black Pegasus with a blizzard blue mane. 

"Your majesty, but it appears that Princess Celestia's sister has returned." The projection started to say but I cut him off.

"Impossible, Princess Celestia - I refuse to call her my mother - doesn't have a sister" I replied.

"She does now your Highness, she's called  Princess Luna formerly known as Nightmare Moon" he replied uncertainly.

"That's an old mares tale"

"It turns out that she is very real and she nearly took over Equestria. Nearly succeed too if it wasn't for the Elements of harmony"

That last bit sounded familiar "Elements of harmony, what are those?" I asked, trying to remember where I've heard the term from.

After he explained what and who they were. I was stunned as the last time I heard, Sunset Shimmer was Celestia's protégé. I then added new orders "Find out everyone you can about these Elements"

"Yes Sir" he answered before saluting and vanishing. I then walked over to my balcony that gazed over the Capital City of Solaris. I looked over the horizon wondering why my mother never told me I had an aunt. I then wondered about when I should reveal my kingdom to the world. So far the islands that made up the Solar Kingdom was hidden under a very powerful illusion spell, anypony coming near would get a sense of danger. It had even sparked a legend back in my old home land called the Maremuda triangle where ships supposedly vanished.

I wanted to meet my aunt and see why she was banished and compare stories. I was particularly worried about these Elements of harmony, I feared that I Celestia did find find out my Kingdom she would use them against us. I also knew that the Equestrians would have a hard time coming close to the islands as the Solar Kingdom had a large enough navy that it could rival Celestia's own.

While on the voyage Sharp Point told me about the history of the Celestial isles. Princess Celestia had first established a colony there. However the Manehatten Stock exchange crashed and Equestria was plummeted into a great depression. It was becoming clear that Equestria couldn't maintain the colony and the project was ultimately scrapped. Today the islands had no stable government and anarchy runs rampant.

"I was thinking your Highness, why don't we reorganize these ponies and claim the islands as our own?" Sharp point asked, it was clear that this wasn't the first time this thought had come to him.

I laughed at what he was saying but his face told me that he wasn't joking. My laughter died out as I then asked "What you being serious. You want to start our own country?"

"Yes"

I rubbed my chin in thought, I habit that I picked up from my father, who was a royal guard that was killed in battle. I have looked in the subject before. "It would take time we would need to organise a government and gain the populace under control but it could be done"

"Yes but if we was to create a new kingdom, we would need to keep it hidden lest your mother would come knocking."

"Hmmm but what would we call it?" I asked still seriously considering the idea.

Sharp Point smiled "I believe Solar Kingdom has a nice ring to it" 

Thus the Solar Kingdom was born... 

I smiled at the memory I then called for Quick Notes and told him to call a meeting with the Royal Council. I wanted to discuss these new findings.

The Royal Council was essentially my cabinet. The council is made up of various departments than ran certain aspects of the kingdom. 

I walked to the Royal meeting room where 
top important  council meetings took place. I took my seat at the head of the tabl and watched as various head councilors took their places. They all bowed before sitting I then started.

"Hello all, I have called this meeting to discuss changes in the nearby Equestria and a possible threat to the kingdom." I announced while scanning the various reactions, which included gasps and fidgeting.

Shield Knight, who was the head of the Department of National Security asked "What sort of threat?"

I then began to explain what these Elements of harmony and how they defeated the supposed Nightmare Moon. I then turned to Wispy Straw, who was the head of the Department of Agriculture and Industry, and asked "The longer night hasn't affected the crops in any way?"

"No your majesty we should still be on course for the upcoming harvest" this made me breathe a sigh of relief, the last thing I needed was a famine despite many of the population didn't mind eating meat. 

"Good now are there any other problems we need to address or can I end this meeting now?" I asked while looking at each Department head in turn.

"Yes your Highness we've seen activity coming from Mt Spark I believe she may be waking up" Stormy Gust ,the head of the Department of Weather and Geology, replied. Mt Sparks was a volcano of the coast of the northern city of Sparkville.

I then asked "Is she ready to blow?"

"Not that I'm aware of but there may be an increase in earthquakes in the region and steam my start appearing from the crater of the volcano, this is to be expected though and shouldn't be a cause for alarm. I know that the Royal Geology Inspection Service is keeping close watch on the Volcano" she explained reassuringly.

I then told her "Start performing both Earthquake and Volcano drills in the area. If thats all then I call this meeting adjourned" I then left the meeting and headed straight for my private quarters.

I told my guards not let anypony disturb me unless it is an emergency. I walked over to my desk and examined a map of Sparkville and analyse at how an evacuation could be best performed...
