Except for chapter 5) Dartz needs employees, so he gathers up the Dazzlings who have been dueling to stay off the streets. Twilight, Rainbow and Sunset are chosen to wield the three Legendary Dragons, but will they be enough to stop this plague of evil? When the girls hear that Camp Everfree is about to close, Rainbow Dash talks to her father, who happens to be friends with an employee of Kaiba Corp. He suggests a charity tournament to Mr. Kaiba, and he grants it. Since Sunset won at the Friendship Games Tournament, she is the current title holder. So now, 16 duelists from around the globe will battle each to see who gets to duel Sunset for the championship crown. But one of the duelists seems to have his eye on Kaiba's company. Now, Sunset and her friends must find out why. If not, the camp is done for. Next story is Friends Beyond Time.

After witnessing Sunset's defeat, the Dazzlings realize the is now magic in the human world. Using their own hypnotic powers, they manage to turn the school Musical Show Case into a team dueling tournament. After Sunset and the girls get a message to Twilight, she and Spike arrive to help. They soon discover that the Dazzlings are actually evil Sirens that plan to conquer the world. Can the girls sever the Siren's spell by defeating them in a duel? Or can even they even be stopped at all? Next story is The Dueling Games.

After dueling in the park for a while, the mane seven decide to go shopping. Sunset then finds one of the seven millennium items at a small stand. Later Pinkie's new friend Bakura challenges Rainbow to a duel, but before they start, he sends the girls to the shadow realm and traps them in their favorite cards. Thanks to her new item, Sunset is safe. Now the only way to set her friends free is to beat Bakura is a shadow duel. (It's a cross between the first shadow duel and the duel with Bonz in the graveyard.) Next story is Dueling Rocks.

When Sunset saw Sonata Dusk return to CHS and experience a very familiar treatment, she encouraged her friends to reach out to the Dazzlings just as they'd done with her after the Fall Formal.

Several months later, Aria and Sonata have come to discover some joy in their new life-after-magic. Adagio, however, has continued to refuse the offer—out of bitterness, spite and an unwillingness to give those 'rainbooms' the satisfaction of seeing her break.

What she has yet to realize is that clinging to this resentment is hurting no one but herself.

This story is a sequel to An Open Door

After receiving a request from a rather unexpected source, Twilight helps deliver a long-overdue message from Celestia to her former student.

This story is set one month after An Open Door, which itself occurs about six months after Rainbow Rocks.

It's not required to read Open Door first. Just go into this story with the understanding that the Dazzlings have started to befriend the others, and have come to realize there is some joy to be found in their new life-after-magic. If you're interested in how that went down on this timeline from Adagio's perspective, then Open Door is the place to check that out.

Cover art is my own. You may have seen it here already, as another author had created a story based on it some time ago. Drawing this piece is what got me interested in fanfiction. So now that I've had a taste of writing with Open Door, I've decided to come full-circle and write something for it myself.

Upon her first use of darkness its taste lingered within her mind, creating an ever growing thirst and revealing her true desires. With her recent elevation to an alicorn and princess she begins to find her desire for power insatiable. Small seemingly inconsequential steps grow into giant leaps, pushing her senses of morality and reason.

Besides, doesn't the ends justify the means? For a queen can accomplish so much more than a princess....
