Celestia is sick and tired of having mediocre cups of coffee in Canterlot. The coffee chains they have in the city are a bust, and none of the ponies seem to know how to make anything other than basic, plain old coffee! Maybe she needs to scout out a better franchise and better hired help in order to get a decent cup of joe for a change. Maybe she even needs to search outside of the pony realm to do it.

Being an alicorn is wonderful... except when it isn't. There are plenty of things that put a damper on limitless vistas of possibility afforded by such a long life: Court, mortal needs and expectations, the occasional decade of ennui.

And the dreams, of course. Agelessness comes with its own special kind of dreaming. Celestia finds that her own "Inner Court" is a bit too literal, and it--and she--are troubled at the prospect of a near-immortal Twilight Sparkle.

If only she could articulate exactly why that was.

When a unicorn possesses more natural power than a non-alicorn can hold, consequences take shape. Starlight is one such mare that is victim to the hold of possessing too much magical power for her form to hold. This is her internal struggle.

Octavia is enjoying a boring evening when she hears that her favorite musician is coming to town for a party. You either have to be invited, be somepony's plus one, or pay a fee of 200 bits. Octavia has none of that, so her not-so-helpful friends have a better idea.

Crash the party!

In this story, I'm taking a break from a few stereotypes on Vinyl and Octavia (as well as a few other characters) and writing Octavia with a little less common sense and more of a crushing slob. Vinyl, well, she'll be interesting to say the least.

There is a good amount of a building romance, but it doesn't drown out the story or development of characters, and trust me, there is much more development happening in this story, not like my last one where we jumped like three chapters to the end. I've learned my lesson
