Twilight Velvet loves her daughter with all her heart; she outshines her in every way, is the prized student of Princess Celestia, and will no doubt go on to have an impact on Equestria the likes of which has never been seen before and never will be again. But despite Twilight Velvet's pride and love for Twilight Sparkle, somber thoughts weigh heavily on her mind when her daughter comes to visit.

Why does Velvet feel so inadequate? Why can't she be to her daughter what Princess Celestia is to her? What is the measure of a mother?

Set prior to Season 1. Celestia doesn't physically appear but is mentioned extensively.

Twilight was ecstatic when she became the personal protégé of Princess Celestia herself. But even a young filly's excitement and curiosity has its limits, and several months into her tutelage Twilight begins to feel homesick.

Past down through the history of Equestria there is the story of the legendary Twilight Sparkle, and another, and another, and another, and another. So many that we've lost count. But Celestia hasn't, how could she have?

"Maybe we could have continued to be friends. But not in this story. I've decided to make a brave decision like you taught me to, and say goodbye.

Fluttershy wrote letters that formed a journal to give one day to Rainbow Dash. She has written it throughout the majority of their friendship, relationship and heart break. Now was the time she was going to give it to her. Not because she wants Rainbow to know she still loves her, but because she wants Rainbow to know how much she has hurt her. Besides, she doesn't have to stick around much longer anyways as she's planning to move away.

AU. When Shining Armor and Cadence's love shockwave vanquishes the Changelings, before being sent away Queen Chrysalis fires a poisonous beam at Twilight's chest that leaves her in a comatose state she might never wake up from. As the doctors fail to find a cure, and everypony starts losing hope, Shining Armor is determined to help Twilight return to them, but on the inside he is conflicted by the cruelty he mustered at her the night before and his failure to ask for her forgiveness before being shot. Shining won't be able to live in once until Twilight says she forgives him, but how can that be when she can't probably even hear him?
Will Twilight wake up and go back to her old life, or will Shining Armor's tortured memory forever haunt him?

After coming back from her adventure in the mirror world, Twilight is having trouble sleeping and is quickly approaching her breaking point.

A little story that was supposed to be a oneshot, but was split in two. A bit of family fluff and comfort for Twilight after her adventure through the mirror.

A series of loosely related oneshots depicting different moments in Twilight's life where she relied on Celestia for comfort and advice, and those fewer yet no less important moments where she was able to return the favor.

I will be jumping back and forth along the timeline since I write the oneshots as they come to me. On that note, each oneshot will fit into one of three categories:

Filly - Stories depicting moments from before Twilight left for Ponyville.

Ponyville - Stories depicting moments from between the time Twilight left for Ponyville and the time she became an alicorn.

Alicorn - Stories depicting moments after Twilight ascended and became an alicorn.
