Gilda and Celestia discuss Gilda's falling-out with Rainbow Dash. Nothing long, unexpected or dramatic here - I just had this kind of gentle scene stuck in my head, and needed to write it out.

When Equestria accidentally opened a portal to another world, they discovered a new species: humans. Their arrival changed the world. For the Equestrian Ponies, it heralded a great cultural and technological jump needed from their stagnating way of life. For the Gryphons, however, they represented something baser: an opportunity to increase food stock and finally have a 'friendlier' predator species to ally themselves with.

For Gilda, one of the the humans was Ancestor-sent, a soul she would protect for bringing much joy to her life. And when a chain of events force her to accompany her human to Equestria, she recalls the circumstances of their meeting, the trials they pass through, the friendship forged through fire, and love born out of understanding under the harsh skies of the Kingdom.

First impressions are important, but often inaccurate. For example, Gilda. When she first met Pinkie, she seemed like a controlling, abrasive, thieving jerk. But is that all there is to her? Or is the real situation much more complicated? When Gilda returns to Ponyville to try and fix her friendship with Rainbow Dash, the truth will be revealed.

AN: This is my first fic on this site, and any constructive criticism will be appreciated. I would also appreciate any corrections you have to make. Almost a year after the events of “Griffon the Brush Off” Gilda still laments over the events which ended her relationship with Rainbow Dash. After a brush with Discord the realization that life is passing her by compels her to go on a dangerous journey alone in the hope that it will allowed her to finally achieve a definitive win over Rainbow Dash in competition. Meanwhile strange events across Equestria begin to create tension between griffon and pony governments, threatening to open up old conflicts that were thought to be forgotten.

Gilda life and griffon society in Equestria at large are explored in great detail as Gilda is guided on a path that will ultimately reunite her with the only pony she ever cared about.

Shortly after a party that went terribly wrong, Rainbow Dash begins acting in ways nopony ever expected! Now it's up to both a current and an old friend of Dash's to make sense of things... before Rainbow Dash has no friends left!

When Luna reappeared on Nightmare Night, she was no longer the small filly from before. Now an adult mare, she commanded the same respect and presence as that of her sister, Celestia. Many assumed that this was the result of her powers coming back to her naturally, but that was a lie happily perpetrated by both Celestia and the Gryphon Kingdom.

This is the story of Luna as she struggles with the remnants of Nightmare Moon and her forgotten past. The only clue she has is The Temple of the Stars where her small group of worshipers used to gather, which now lies in ruins and in the clutches of the gryphons. Some things were forgotten for a reason and the past always has a way of returning.

These two facts are well known by Gilda. Pulled along for the ride against her will, ghosts of a forgotten past have come crawling back, intent on dragging her back down to a fate worse than death. All the while, she seeks to preserve the innocence of those untouched by war and tries to protect Trixie from the harsh truth beyond Equestria's borders.

One wrong step and war shall erupt. One wrong step and the world will be plunged into a darkness that would rival Discord.
