Although still a novice flier, Twilight has begun to feel comfortable in the sky. But when Rainbow Dash asks her to enter a flying pairs competition with her, she believes that her inexperience will only hinder her friend's chances of winning. Twilight's misgivings deepen when Rainbow learns that two old rivals will be competing as well, and her desire to win begins to drive a wedge between them. Full of doubt of her own abilities and anger toward Rainbow's fierce ambition to beat the others, will Twilight overcome these obstacles and compete with her friend, or will she quit the competition altogether?

Lapis-Lazuli Proudly Presents...
In the far southern regions of Equestria, where the rule of the Sun Princess runs thin...
There is a town under siege, held in the iron grip of a tyrant.

Poor, desperate, and defenseless, the citizens turn to a band of unlikely heroes.
They come from all walks of life, each seeking something, each running from something.

And in this little town, far from the eyes of the great and powerful, these seven outcasts will come together for a job that will change their lives forever.

Based on John Sturges' "The Magnificent Seven" and Akira Kurosawa's "The Seven Samurai"

400 years ago, the griffins lost the 25 Year's War, shrinking down their population and land size to fit a small island. Griffins slave labor in the Equestrian Empire as a result. But what happens when two sisters find a banned book?

I don't want to reveal too much because the prologue will unfold as I go along with the story, it's the style in which I like to write things. Makes a little mystery for you guys to solve, like a game inside of a story. Be prepared to be thrown right into the action and also be prepared to be thrown into different time periods in every chapter. Why? Because it's more fun as both a reader and a writer (also I like to write chapter by chapter instead of a huge outline).

Thanks to my editor best college pegasister ever. Also thanks to the Penn State Bronies for encouraging me to put this on FiMFiction.net and for being awesome. Most important, thanks to all who read my story it really means a lot. Constructive criticism is greatly appreciated in the comments (constructive).

Mis-communication has started many a war, but in this case maybe calling it a war was too generous.

The "war" is over, Twilight has successfully orchestrated a bloodless end to the Griffons' aggression, but only now does she realize that there is more to winning than she had first assumed, especially against a nation that holds war as a central part of their culture...

Now Twilight must deal with the aftermath while facing a challenge she never anticipated: being seen as a conqueror.

This can be read alone, but I recommend reading the letter that started it all for a chuckle and a little exposition. This series of expositional one-shots can also give some additional world-building.

The nice thing about living in Appleloosa, Gilda has discovered, is that you don't have to share the skies with anyone else. There may not be many clouds in the sky for perching and napping, but a warm rock on a high pinnacle can work just as well.

The locals are at least tolerable. Earth ponies tend to be a simple, predictable bunch, prone to routine.

It's when you get out-of-towners coming through, though, that problems can erupt. Especially when too much hard cider is involved.

Necromancy.

An art that has been forbidden in Equestria for centuries. The princesses think that they have eradicated it, but they cannot watch over everything all the time.

Gilda was a brash, rude, violent punk who shamed her family with her bullying attitude.

Then she died violently and messily, and her father, distraught, enlists the help of griffon necromancer Melkonis, who promises to bring her back at a high price and bring her back he does, but there are some... issues in the manner of her rebirth.

Now Gilda is a patchwork creature living in a dark cell. She doesn't remember much about her past, but what she does remember has made her long for the outside world.

But, when she takes the opportunity to escape, will what awaits beyond her cell be worth the heartache?

This story is a sequel to Ace Combat: The Equestrian War

Two years after the war with the griffins, peace and harmony once again returned to Equestria. But, from the shadows of the past, a new enemy emerges...

Descendants of ponies, who were long ago exiled from Equestria by Princess Celestia for their dangerous behaviour and experiments, seek to return to the land they used to call home. Over the years, their leader had amassed a great army and gained powerful allies. She decides to exact revenge on the one who exiled her... Princess Celestia realizes the threat and enacts a plan she started shortly after the end of The Equestrian War.

When the conflict erupts and Equestria is attacked by initially unknown enemy, the Mirage squadron is once again sent to the skies, with Rainbow Dash leading them through countless perils. But will the Angels of Equestria be strong enough to stop another invasion of enemy forces? Or will they fail? Only time will tell...

This is a second story of the mini-series "Ace Combat: Equestria Chronicles". The story takes place during the third season of the show. However, I decided to exclude episodes after "Spike At Your Service" (since it is not specified when exactly they happen), mostly to avoid any additional drama regarding the Twilicorn or Discord interfering.

Like Ace Combat: The Equestrian War, this is not a direct adaptation of any Ace Combat game, but it will contain many references to the series, as well as to MLP: FiM itself. In particular, it contains elements and references from the following games:
- Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation
- Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception
- Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War
- Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War
- Ace Combat: Infinity
- Ace Combat: Joint Assault
- Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown

All chapters in this fic will contain links leading to themes from Ace Combat series. It's used to create an atmosphere. Use "Open in new tab" to listen to these themes.

Preceeded by a spin-off:
Ace Combat: Gryphon Wings

Seeing the poor dragon at his wits end trying to woo Rarity, Gilda decides to give Spike some tips and help him gain the mare of his affection. Although she finds him slightly annoying, he starts to grow on her. And she soon learns that Spike has taken a liking to her as well...

Maybe too much of a liking.
