Equestria has fallen. The New Lunar Republic stands in its place with Nightmare Moon at its helm.

Nightmare Moon’s beloved daughter, Eris, is devastated after her boyfriend breaks up with her. Luckily for Eris, her mother is the darkest entity known to ponykind, and though the sovereign of the night is a cruel ruler, she is fiercely protective of her daughter. Nightmare Moon is about to teach this colt a very important lesson: Never, ever mess with the daughter of darkness.

To make things short, two years ago, I was transported from Earth to Equus. The first contact was less than preferable but some of the ponies have gotten use to me, though some are still on the edge. Tonight is something they call Summer Sun Celebration. The longest day on Equus.

This story is a sequel to Discord's Time Travel Trip.

Somehow, (Discord), someway (definitely Discord), Nightmare Moon meets her future self. (It’s all because of Discord.)

How will she react to seeing the mare she’s destined to become? And how will Luna feel when confronted by her dark past?

(For those of you who will ask, this Discord is the younger Discord of the previous fic.)

What made you think Nightmare moon was just evil magic personified? Nightmare moon is just as princess Luna and vice versa, two sides of the same coin.

So when she comes back and her sister expects some kind of change? She has nothing but pure hatred and boiling blood like poison for her sister.

Everypony is telling us, “It’s so amazing you two got Princess Luna to be the Mare of Honor at your wedding! And Princess Celestia as a guest!”

Everypony is meaning, “How in Tartarus did you, two middle-class mathematicians of no apparent social connections, achieve the social coup of the decade, upstaging all of the Canterlot aristocracy and peerage?”

The short answer is, “We made friends with somepony lonely and hurting who needed a friend.”

The long answer? Well, Princess Luna has given me permission to tell you the story. The entire story. Even the dark bits, from her foalhood. Which, I warn you before you begin, are dark. But I promise the ending is happy—after all, look at our wedding pictures! Have you ever seen a picture of Luna with such a big smile on her face?

Nightmare Moon has returned. Princess Celestia lied and betrayed her star pupil, Twilight Sparkle, leaving her woefully unprepared to fight the Queen of the Night.

But when she fails, rather than disposing of her and the ponies that tried to help her, Nightmare Moon sees an opportunity and a necessity. Having been locked away for one thousand years, who better to help her solidify her rule and keep Equestria from collapsing, all while rubbing it in her sister's face, than her own betrayed pupil?

Princess Luna sends her beloved student Moondancer to face the imminent return of a wicked mare of fire known as "Daybreaker". Finding herself alone and facing a pony far more powerful than her, Moondancer wonders if she really is the hero Equestria deserves.

A thousand years in Equsetria's past everything seems bright for it's citizens but unbeknownst to them their rulers are still young and immature by Alicorn standards. The newer generations barely regard Luna as a major part of their leadership or their lives setting Luna on the path to become Nightmare Moon. But this is all changed when close to her breaking point Luna meets a creature who can grant her what she wants, to be loved while her elder sister is scorned. Her wish is granted but at a dire cost. What she thought was her dream come true became a nightmare that the princess of dreams could not escape.
Note: I made the possessed Celestia a little more darker than Nightmare Moon or the series's Daybreaker.
