When I was a foal, I despised Apple Bloom more than anypony else in the world. Years later, my feelings have changed, and so have Apple Bloom and I. But some things will always be the same: she will always be honest, and I will always be a liar. To her, to my parents, to the world—and to myself.

2nd Place Finalist (Tied) in the 2019 EFNW Iron Author competition. Set several years after the show, as per the prompt.

WARNING: Major spoilers in the comments. Takes place several months after the end of season four. (Not a Da Vinci Code crossover, BTW!)

Do you see a dark tag? No, you don't. Not dark. Well, okay, there are a couple of dark-ish bits, but that's all. Not enough to warrant a tag. Speaking of tags, there really ought to be "Badass Twilight" and "Friendshipping" ones.

Sequels and side-stories (and more) can be found here Offprint and AO3, and a hardbound two-volume set of all that can be ordered from The Ministry of Image.

My editor for the first edition of this story was Gogito, and I can't thank him enough for all the hard work he did. My editor for the revised version was PresentPerfect, and he did a terrific job of getting the story into excellent shape.

This story is a sequel to An Extended Performance

Having fled Manehattan after first saving the city and then wrecking Bottom Billing's office, the Great and Powerful Trixie attempts to make her way alone on the open road, building up her reputation and making contacts. She hopes to be able to one day return to Baltimare (and perhaps one special somepony) as a success in her own right. But a combination of bad luck, old enemies and her own unique personality seem to thwart her at every twist and turn. Can Trixie surmount fate and achieve fame by her own efforts? Or will her journey end in humiliating failure?

Has its own TV Tropes page.

A direct sequel to An Extended Performance and (to a lesser degree) of A Long Night at the Hippodrome. Takes place roughly from Season 1, from Episodes 3 "Ticket Masters" to 7 "Dragonshy," (June 25th to Late September, YOH 1500).

This story is a sequel to An Extended Performance

Piercing Gaze, the Baltimare impresario and owner of the Hippodrome Theatre, expected to do record business during the Summer Sun Celebration, when he could draw in crowds until the dawn. He did not expect the night to last well into the morning. At least all this trouble was taking his mind off his memories of a certain little blue magician ...

Side-story to An Extended Performance.

Now has its own page on TV Tropes!

This story is a sequel to Nightmares Are Tragic

The Great and Powerful Trixie is unhappy when her Summer Sun Festival night gig in Manehattan turns out to be a show at an open-air neighborhood festival in a seedy Lower East Side park. When the Sun refuses to rise on schedule, Trixie finds herself giving the greatest performance of her life to an increasingly-terrified crowd. But darker forces are moving events to an inescapable confrontation.

A side-story to Nightmares Are Tragic, hence takes place at the same time as The Elements of Harmony (the Season 1 two-part opener). Now has its own side-story, about Piercing Gaze, A Long Night at the Hippodrome

There is one flashback in which it is mentioned that there has been sex between two characters. There is also some violence.

Now has its own TVTropes Page!

If you look around the multiverse, you'll find several entities who would be happy to see them, at least initially. Those sapients would be operating on dreams of free wishes and gold -- or, for the more sensible, shoe repair. But Equestria knows nothing of those tales. And so all Rainbow knows is that it's a very important day, one where she absolutely must have privacy, and that means she needs to get these miniature green-jacketed lunatics out of her life.

Must be Crackfic Week again!

Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle visit the Cloudsdale Weather Factory seeking to understand the extreme cold weather across Equestria. Town weather ponies are tired of receiving complaints, and frustrated by the lack of answers from higher up. Rumours circulate that a mysterious monster—a polar vortex—has seized control of the North and threatens Equestria. They get passed from office to office, as each branch of the Weather Factory denies responsibility, as they pursue their quest to understand the mechanisms controlling the Equestrian climate.
