We all know the story of how the Princess’ young student and five friends defeated Nightmare Moon and brought Princess Luna back to our lands. But what if the tale were false? What if the young Twilight Sparkle on the event of her entrance exam had not been rescued by Princess Celestia, but instead lost her mind among the power of her youthful surge and had to be sent away, far away before she could destroy all of Canterlot with her newfound power. Now the feral unicorn prowling the Everfree Forest only vaguely remembers her past, slipping away from constant terrifying attempts to capture her.

Immediately following the events of Appletheosis, Applejack must relearn her place in the world as the new Princess Mara of Equestria. Meanwhile, her family and friends have their own troubles with the changes. Through it all, little Merry May, first in the service of her goddess, tries to hold things together and keep everypony sane and happy.

I won't tell you what to do, (this time) but reading Appletheosis first is highly recommended. The Shadow of the Goddess also provides useful background and will become very relevant in later chapters.

Applejack's life is turned upside-down after she suddenly inherits the full powers of a goddess. She insists that it isn't a big deal and that she's the same pony as always, just bigger. Meanwhile, everypony else starts making demands on her and placing expectations on the 'new princess'. When the constant stream of petitions and gawkers starts interfering with farm work, Applejack reacts a bit strongly. Luna, fearing the worst, is determined to rescue Applejack from corruption, further irritating the farm pony. Will Applejack accept her destiny, or is destiny what you make of it?

It's been seventeen years since the largest wedding in the history of Equestria, a leader and a hero steps out of the past to be reunited with her family and friends past. Luna is up to her old tricks again, encouraging relationships as she and the other protectors of Equestria prepare for an uncertain future that may cost them everything they hold dear.

New to the story, don't know what the heck is going on, then start the story right by going all the way back to the beginning with And Tootsie Flute Makes Three

Twilight's cutie mark is fading, and Celestia sends her a series of lessons to rekindle her passion for magic- and for friendship. Twilight must study the magics her friends possess, as well as casting a serious eye on her own gifts.

This is technically a sequel to "Fixing Up Miss Smartypants", so I totally recommend that you read that first. It's set five years later.

Sweetie Belle gets curious about where babies come from, so she confronts Rarity about it.

Caramel, Braeburn, and the Elements of Harmony had long abandoned any hope of finding love in their lives. Granted, a few had their dreams of a certain somepony, but that's all they were to them: dreams. That is until Winter Wrap-Up, where Caramel's clumsiness sets off a chain of events that could lead either to the betterment of everypony or to a schism between the Elements. At Rarity and Fluttershys behest Twilight agrees to swap their talents for a day, the plan goes awry when Twilight accidentally ends up switching their minds between their bodies. The effect, fortunately not permanent, allows both ponies to proceed with their original plans unfazed. Rarity however, gets quickly carried away with her newfound self...

After a run in with the Flim Flam brothers, Applejack and her family end up taking in the robotic stallion Big Lugnut. Big Lugnut denies all claims that he is a robot despite Applejack's constant persistence on the matter. This story chronicles the moments of tears and laughter during his exploits in and around Ponyville.
