Though most view them as simply immortal powerful rulers, some ponies worship the Princesses as actual Goddesses. Some families with deep Earth Pony roots worship the old Nature Spirits of their ancestors.
But some ponies turn to darker forces. They worship monsters and demons, praying for plagues and misfortunes upon those they despise.

One day, Discord finds out that in his "extended absence", a cult formed with him as the Central Deity. Unfortunately, it's not exactly what he would want. These ponies will soon find out it's a bad idea to anger your god.

Almost a year after what seemed to be the concluding battle in Celestia's great crusade against necromancers, something Mortem believes to be borderline discrimination, he discovers one of Celestia's armies setting up camp just outside his stronghold.

Not wanting to jump to any conclusions or risk angering the very powerful Princess, he concludes a diplomatic solution would be the best way forward. And so, he writes a letter.

Ponies are like those weird experimental dishes my broodmother sometimes makes: really interesting and probably good for a story, but never the type of thing I’d want to poke, for fear it might take off my hoof. I already learned my lesson the first time something I ate came back to haunt me. Discord is back in town to see how his friends are doing. During his visit, he gets into an argument with Max the changeling over what constitutes a prank.
Discord is of the opinion that for a prank to be funny, everyone must see it. Therefore it must be loud and showy.
Max says some of the best pranks are only ever noticed by the one who set it up.

...Twilight Sparkle's day was ruined from the moment she slipped out of bed.

Commenter challenged me to throw out a story in which Twilight keeps tripping. This is the result of the idea. Turned out I found the topic funny and that made it pretty easy to write. Please note that this story is in no way connected to Twisted Fate. Max was the name I started with a while ago, I just made the bad decision to use the name again.

There are patterns in all things, even if we don't look for them. After spending a few years in Ponyville, Max has gotten pretty good at spotting them, so he invites a friend of his to watch the fireworks.
