This story is a sequel to Not Another Alicorn!

After her ascension into an alicorn, Rainbow Dash managed to dodge royal responsibilities in order to stay with her friends and try to grow closer with Twilight Sparkle, the mare she’s fallen head over hooves for. Everything in her life was just perfect.

Well, except for the fact she’s got meddling princesses dogging her every step, alicorn powers that run on emotion instead of concentration causing random weather around Ponyville depending on her mood, and this new guy on the weather team that’s trying to attract the local librarian’s interest.

Oh yeah, there’s also some big evil bad guys plotting stuff in the background too. But…who has time to deal with that when love is on the line?

A few days after the Nightmare Moon Incident, Spike awakens to find Twilight acting a little...odd. Or odder than usual anyway. All of a sudden she's being all motherly, sure of herself in ways she's never been before, and even more outgoing.

But…it’s kind of creepy how she just seems to know everypony’s name, or their habits, and even some stuff nopony else should know.

But she's still good old Twilight...right?

While their social norms may be confounding to her, she is satisfied with her life. That is, until Scootaloo comes home from school one day shaken, and Echo finds that not everypony in Ponyville is as understanding and accepting of who she is as she thought they were. What has caused the normally kind ponies in this town to become so suddenly xenophobic?

But out of all their ruling neighbors, The Four Shepherds held the most power of all, even threatening Celestia and Luna's kingdom. However, all of that changed when they vanished for a thousand years, ushering in a new era of peace and prosperity. Until that is, when the Crystal Kingdom reappeared, along with one of the Shepherds. King Sombra, however, was thankfully vanquished swiftly, but the following peace of his defeat would not last as long as anypony might think. A new force sets its eyes on the recently coronated Princess Twilight Sparkle, one that seeks to restore a lost heritage and remind the land of who is the true owner of the night. For when one evil is smitten, another appears in its place. And King Sombra was only the first in line.
