Over a thousand years ago when Discord ruled Equestria there was nothing he couldn't do except bury his loneliness. After years of creating Chaos but having nopony to share it with his loneliness slowly turned into a plan. A plan so he wouldn't have the be the only one in Equestria without companionship. He decided to create a pony who would not just appreciate the Chaos as much as he did; but somepony he could truly share it with.
Will Chaos reign or will Princess Celestia and Princess Luna stop him?

Takes place after Keep Calm and Flutter On. After Screwball sees Celestia taking Discord's statue away from Canterlot, she goes to Ponyville to find Twilight Sparkle and confronts her about reforming Discord. Twilight tries to explain there's more to life than chaos. Screwball, upset by this, runs back to her cave in the Everfree where she is found by Discord.

One night Twilight Sparkle is visiting Canterlot to eat dinner with the princesses. She takes a walk in Canterlot Gardens and sees something heart-wrenching that will change how she lives forever.

Screwball was alone for 1,000 years, waiting for her father to come back. Too bad chaos only lasted a day. Now she's back in the same position, and more determined than ever to get her Daddy Discord back.

Searching for any records King Sombra may have left behind, Twilight learned of the shadowy king's tragic past. However, she also discovered his horn, in which his mind and remaining power were contained. Determined to learn how to use his Dark Magic for Good, Twilight brought Sombra back to Ponyville with her. After all, what could he possibly do as a horn? ...Or will he stay that way?

The reason why Princess Luna turned into Nightmare Moon has been alluded to, theorized, and dramatized. But all of the reasons why have been grandiose and very often external in nature. But all that is really needed to turn someone from a being of good to a being of darkness is but a simple whisper and time. A whisper given by a force of hatred and fear.
