a loney draconequus need a pony that understand him and his chaos he makes.
Over a thousand years ago when Discord ruled Equestria there was nothing he couldn't do except bury his loneliness. After years of creating Chaos but having nopony to share it with his loneliness slowly turned into a plan. A plan so he wouldn't have the be the only one in Equestria without companionship. He decided to create a pony who would not just appreciate the Chaos as much as he did; but somepony he could truly share it with. Will Chaos reign or will Princess Celestia and Princess Luna stop him?
Everywhere you looked in Equestria all you would see chaos. You could see it in the sky above and if you dared to look you’d see it underground. It was common for ponies to run in fear trying to outrun the wave of insanity as it spawned.
Ponies that did not run away sometimes saw a strange creature seated on top of a throne on a checkered pattern hill. They saw a mismatch creature on the throne enjoying the view. They saw a creature called a draconequus. It had a head of a pony but the rest of its body was made of other animal parts. The mismatched figure that so appropriately represented chaos and disharmony was known to them as Discord.
Discord sat there in his throne watching a whole town turning upside down through the massive chaos. He sat there drinking a glass of chocolate milk graciously poured into a simple glass by cotton candy cloud. But instead of the chocolate milk, Discord drank the glass that the milk was in. He then abruptly tossed the somehow solid cylinder of liquid behind him which caused an explosion with enough force to rattle the windows of the houses beyond his perch. Sometimes ponies would beg him to make the chaos stop, but he simply laugh while reminding them who caused the madness in the first place. He was more than just a lowly spirit of chaos and disharmony. He wasn't a just a king, he was the god of chaos. Discord honestly felt that it was his role in life to turn ponies lives into living nightmares.
He loved the world as it slowly shifted into something of his own creation. The sweet scent of chocolate milk and cotton candy clouds in the air, the sound of ponies screaming in fear of the chaos, the sight of the town being topsy turvy and on occasion seeing ponies being ‘discorded’ by his magic. He couldn’t help but laugh from the fun he was having due to his chaos.
He glanced towards the sky and saw some pegasi skillfully breaking apart one of his odd yet delicious pink clouds.
"How dare those pegasi try to clear my clouds,” he said angrily.
“Unacceptable!"
He snapped his claw and in a flash of light the pegasi lost their wings and plummeted towards the ground. Abruptly before they greeted the grass at high velocity a large wooden tub of grape jelly spawned beneath them, saving them from a quick and unfortunate end.
“The next time that somepony interferes with my chaos, I might not be so forgiving,” he said out loud for their benefit, as they slowly crawled out of his gift of mercy.
By a snap of his fingers he called a good sized piece from the broken cotton candy cloud and was about to eat it when he seen two mare alicorns approach his throne. One had a white coat and a colorful mane and the other one had dark blue coat and her mane was a different flavor of dark blue. He grinned as they drew closer at a cautious yet determined pace.
“Well if it isn’t the two princesses that 'were' once the rulers of Equestria. Now what bring you former princesses here?” he said in a causal tone before eating his treat.
“We want you to stop this madness and turn Equestria back to normal,” Celestia demanded.
Discord stared at them for a while then began to laugh.
"Oh Celestia you know how to make this draconequus laugh," he joyfully replied before returning to his laughter
"We demand you to take your reign of chaos away and bring make our home back the way it was!" Luna yelled, as she took a single step towards him.
The Lord of Chaos vanished from his throne and reappeared between Celestia and Luna. He quickly wrapped his arms around them like he was greeting close friends. He drew them close enough to him for any onlooker to mistake it for a genuinely warm three party hug
“Oh my, dear Luna,” he replied without a single note of malice in his voice. “Don’t you and your sister get it? I won and you lost. Equestria is mine. I can do whatever I want, whenever I want.”
Discord took the time to give them both a smirk before continuing.
“This is a place where nopony tells you what to do. You can do whatever you want without any rules or responsibility and have total freedom from doing those royal duties you two wasted your lives on. So what do you say? Will you join in the fun?”
“We will never join you and your chaotic ways,” Celestia said angrily without hesitation.
“Now Celestia you’re hurting my feelings. I thought we were becoming friends now,” he said giving them a flawless sad puppy look. “We were never friends Discord,” the white alicorn sister said. “You used us to let you get whatever you wanted and tried to...‘discord’ us. If we were friends then you would have turn everything back to normal and started using your powers for good instead of this irresponsible madness.”
Discord disappeared from his spot between them and reappeared back to his throne. He regarded them with a cold gaze and spoke in a matching tone.
“Oh my dear Celestia, why can’t you see that I’ve made things better? Before I became the new king of everything Equestria was so dull. Besides I don’t need any friends who just tell me what to do with my magnificent power. Now if you’ll excuse I have more chaos to make.”
With a sudden snap of his talons he was gone.
“Sister, we must do something to stop him and get Equestria back to the way it was!” Luna said giving her a worry look.
"I know sister. We must find a way to stop Discord, before more ponies get hurt."
The two alicorns left the chaotic hill without further hesitation. unaware that Discord hadn’t actually gotten all that far. He had simply gone to the nearby town, standing in the window of an upside down house watching an Earth Pony stallion about to open his mailbox. As the pony opened his mailbox Discord snapped his talon and the mailbox started to hop in place before burying the surprised pony in an avalanche of letters.
Discord laughed so hard that his insides quite literally splattered out of his stomach. After he took a brief moment to shove it all back inside he heard the distant laughter of a filly. His first thought was that perhaps finally somepony had started to appreciate the changes he made and elected to go to the source of the sound.
He followed the laughter and found a yellow Earth Pony stallion with an orange mane and a fishing pole for a cutie mark on his flank. He also saw a young filly that was a light blue earth pony with a green mane. She didn’t have a cutie mark. They both had fishing poles with them and had just started to fish in a chocolate milk river.
“Now you have to wait patiently and quietly 'til the fish comes and eats the bait.” The stallion said calmly to his daughter.
“Yes daddy,” she answered, just before she felt a tug on the fishing line.
“Daddy I got something!” she abruptly shouted as she gripped the pole.
“Relax and try to reel it in before it gets away.”
She took in steady breaths as reeling in whatever was on the other end of the line. After a brief struggle a bright gummy fish flew out from the chocolate river wearing the primary colors on its scales.
“Look daddy I caught a gummy fish for dinner!” she said happily as she held her catch.
“You’re getting better every day,” he said to his daughter with a smile.
“I love you daddy.”
“I love you too, sweetie.”
The fish stopped it’s somewhat valiant thrashing and both of them shared a warm hug. While Discord watched this touching moment his eyes fell out of his sockets. He quickly picked up his eyes and put them back in their proper place. It made him sick watching them being all loving and touching despite the gravity of his chaos. He at least wanted the father to show a small degree of shock at the candy fish or acknowledge that its gummy body wouldn’t exactly amount to much in feeding the family.
He snapped his fingers and teleported behind them. They turned around and saw him. They soon noticed a slightly upset look on his face and the little filly hid behind her father.
“Lord Discord!” the earth pony spoke quickly before bowing to him
“What bring you here, my lord?”
“I was checking on my chaotic creation then I suddenly come across a small display that was so sweet that it quite possibly gave me diabetes,” he replied with a scowl.
“My apologies my lord. I was showing my daughter here to fish.”
“Oh really? Showing your daughter how to fish?”
“Yes my lord that is the truth.”
Discord look at the frightened little filly behind her father. And put away his sour expression in favor of a less intimidating grin.
“Tell me something little pony. Why follow your in father footsteps and fish instead of enjoying the wonderful chaos that I worked so hard to make?”
The little filly didn’t answer him. She kept quietly staring at his chaotic eyes while trembling with an all of obvious degree of fear; worrying that there was no ‘correct’ answer.
“Don’t be afraid little pony I’m not going to hurt you or your father,” he said while extending his smile. “Now, I’m going to ask you one more time. Why follow your in father footsteps and fish instead of enjoying the wonderful chaos that I worked so hard to make?”
“W-Well I like fishing with my father… I appreciate learning his fishing skills…I want to be like him when I’m older,” the little filly said with a degree of hesitation. “The chaos that you made…you see lord discord...well...it’s nice but it looks unsafe.”
Discord eyes slowly started to twitch. He didn’t exactly like hearing that his chaos was unsafe to enjoy. Chaos is a fun. It brought a sense of freedom to do whatever you wanted with nopony telling you what you could or couldn’t do. Why was it that nopony could appreciate all his hard work in making the world a more fun place?
Discord snapped his claw and a fairly large wave of the chocolate milk river abruptly jumped out and soaked the two earth ponies.
“Let this be a warning that if I catch anypony being all sweet while disregarding my selfless labor, I’ll just have to ‘discord’ them.”
“Understood lord Discord,” the two chocolate covered ponies quickly said as the bowed low in hopes that he would be appeased by the gesture.
They cringed upon hearing his snap again and both breathed deep sighs of relief that he simple left without a trace.
There was one place untouched by Discord’s influence. A lone castle under the steady vigil of the Alicorn sisters stood firm and resolute against his power. Every day it felt like more ponies braved the strange wilderness for refuge within its walls and as more came the guards found themselves doing less guarding and more tending to refugees.
Princess Celestia was in the castle library looking through books hoping to find a way to stop discord and his chaotic ways. She went through book by book by book by book and still nothing to stop the mad creature who called itself a god. Celestia opened yet another dusty tome and silent repeated an oath to not give up and stop the chaos and bring peace back to Equestria.
Princess Luna walked into the library and saw her sister still looking through books as if the world outside simply didn’t exist.
“Sister it’s time to rest,” Luna said, with the traditional Canterlot voice as she approached “You need to rest; you been looking through those books for the past few days.”
“I shall not rest until discord is stopped, Luna,” Celestia replied without looking up from the book that was in front of her.
“Well won’t you at least eat something sister?” Luna asked.
“Just bring me some tea Luna,” Celestia said still looking at the book. "As you wish sister."
As Princess Luna started to head towards the door to the hallway; one of the Royal Guards ran almost right into her.
“Your majesty! Another wave of Discord’s magic is coming towards this way!”
Celestia dropped her book and ran out the library. Luna followed her sister to the outer walls of the castle and saw a deep swirling mist of purple and white magic coming towards the castle. The ground it touched turned into a checker patterned floor, the tress dropped their branched and sprouted lollipops and the clouds suddenly turned into cotton candy.
The two sisters’ horns glowed with their auras as they put them together and forged a large force field around the castle. The chaotic fog swept around the castle and soon passed out of sight.
Luna sighed with relief.
“That was a close one sister, we’re safe.”
“For now Luna,” Celestia said quietly.
Celestia quietly went back inside and headed to the library to continue her search for a way to stop the chaos. Luna looked at the sky for a second before following in her sister’s steps.
Discord sat on his throne and sulked while thinking of how nopony enjoyed, appreciated or even paused to admire his world of chaos. He glanced back at the distant chocolate milk river and thought about who he saw there earlier. His mind drifted towards wondering if only one pony would admire him and his chaos that it would make him happier. Abruptly a sudden weight came crashing down on him that brought a revelation. He wasn’t angry with them, he was intolerably lonely. He glanced up and saw a lone cotton candy cloud passing by him. He grabbed the cloud started molding it into something that resembled a little filly.
“Oh if only you understood me and my chaos little one,” he said to himself as he held the cloud filly.
After staring at the filly cloud for a while then something hit him and got an idea. If no pony understood him and his chaos making then why not make a pony that admires chaos? A grin came across his face as he realized that it was within his power to do just that.
He grinned at the filly cloud that he made and softly he poked the head of the cloud with his claw. He focused his magic and the cloud slowly expanded.
Abruptly the cotton candy cloud started to slowly move and then something inside it sneezed. The cloud fell off revealing young earth pony filly. Unlike the one he saw earlier this one had a pink coat. Her mane was purple with white swirls and her eyes had matched. The little mare stared at Discord giving him a curious smile.
“Hello. Who are you?”
Discord gently ruffled her mane with his paw as he responded.
Discord watched his daughter flying around him on the cotton candy cloud. She laughed from the fun she was having while zipping along in orbit around him.
"I can’t believe it worked“he said in his thoughts "I’ve created a pony that loves chaos. A pony that will follow in my footsteps spreading chaos all over Equestria. A pony to take my place if I ever retire and to make me proud with the chaos she will make."
Discord picked her up from the cotton candy cloud and put her on his lap.
"Now my dear now that I have created you; I have to think of a name for you“He said. “A name that sounds so chaotic that ponies will never forget the name of who ruled Equestria with her daddy by her side."
She laughed at the idea of having a chaotic name.
"That’s my girl, how about Topsy Turvy?"
"No “she replied while shaking her head "I don’t like it. It doesn’t sound all that chaotic"
"Hmm...How about Merry Melody?"
"No"
"Trippy?"
"No"
"Screwloose?"
"Hmm...Almost sounds chaotic enough."
"Really now? Let me think..."
While he thought of a name for her he started to shake his leg with her still on his lap. She started to enjoy going up and down on his leg. He thought and thought for a chaotic name for her. After some time of ideas and idly bouncing his new filly he still had no idea for a name when abruptly a baseball hit him back of his head and landed in front of his daughter.
He rubbed back of his head and turned to see who dared to hit the master of chaos with a baseball. A fair distance away he saw a brown Earth Pony stallion wave his hoof to get his attention; most likely in an attempt to ask for his baseball back.
"How dare that stallion! Hit me; the master of chaos with a baseball in the head? “He said very angrily as he stared down the stallion.”I’m going to"
Discord stopped when he suddenly saw the baseball fly fast toward the stallion. He prepared himself to catch it but the ball abruptly broke its path and darted to the left and hit the surprised stallion right in the forehead. The blow had rendered him unconscious. Discord looked at his daughter who was laughing hard that she could hardly breathe.
"My dear did you just hit that stallion with the baseball?” Discord asked his daughter.
She stopped laughing. Her smile quickly disappeared and turned to a worried frown as if worried that she had done something wrong.
"Yes daddy… I didn’t mean to hit him....I’m sorry. “She answered him sadly before hanging her head.
"Sorry? “ He asked. "Sorry? My dear that was hilarious!" He laughed for a moment before continuing. "What you did with that baseball just now; hitting that stallion… Now that’s chaos."
"You’re not mad at me daddy? “ She said as she slowly began to smile again.
"Mad at you? I’m not mad at you.” He answered. "I’m proud of you. In fact from where I was standing that looked like a right hoofed screwball."
Abruptly a light bulb appeared on his head and just like that he knew what to call her.
"I got it." He shouted triumphantly as he jumped to his and tossed her up into the air onto a cotton candy cloud.
"I’m going to call you Screwball."
"Screwball? Hmm...I like it sounds chaotic"
"Screwball it is then."
Discord picked her up the newly named filly and smiled at her.
"Come my little abomination; there’s much more I need to teach you about Chaos."
"Yay chaos!” She shouted with happiness in her voice as she clapped her hooves.
"That’s my girl!” Discord replied and with a snap of his claw both of them were gone in a flash of light.
Celestia kept going through her books looking for an answer to stop Discord and his chaos making to bring back peace to Equestria. Sadly after what felt like countless hours she found no answer to solve the problem. The old tomes that always had the wisdom she needed even somehow seemed lighter as if somepony had stolen pages from her books.
Princess Luna entered the room and saw her sister still searching for an answer. It had looked like Celestia hadn’t eaten or slept in a long time. It looked like she just might waste away looking for something to save all of them.
She sighed. She hated seeing her like this.
"I...I" Celestia slowly spoke with a solemn sigh." I give up."
"What!?" Luna responded with a large dose of shock in her voice.
"I said I give up" Celesta repeated.
"Sister you can’t give up” Luna begged "Discord"
"Luna, Discord has...won." Celestia interrupted." There’s nothing I can do. I looked though every book this library has and there’s not an answer to stop him."
Celestia slowly got up walking towards the window looking outside watching the massive chaos around the castle and Equestria.
"Sister please we must not give up; we must keep looking and stop Discord to bring back our home. “ Luna interjected hoping to encourage her.
"Luna there’s nothing I can do. We lost and Discord has won."
Celestia could feel her eyes begin to water and fought to not cry in front of her sister.
Celestia felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned and saw her sister looking at her with tears in her eyes as well. Luna quickly hugged her and cried on her shoulder. Celestia hugged her back slowly let her own tears fall.
Discord looked for a perfect spot to show screwball how to prank ponies when in the distance he saw three fillies playing ball. One Earth Pony had a green coat with a brown and black streaked mane, one Unicorn had a light blue coat with light blue and white streaked mane and one Pegasus had a violet coat with dark blue mane.
Discord and screwball hid in a pink fluffy bush watching the fillies playing ball; unaware that they were being watched. He grinned as he addressed his excited daughter.
"Now for your first lesson my dear."
"Yes daddy “Screwball replied while fighting a laugh. "This is going to be fun."
"Now I want you to put me in this box."
Discord snapped his clawed fingers and spawned a simple jack in the box. The box was black and red like his throne and the open top revealed that there was nothing in there but emptiness.
“Why do I have to put you in this box daddy?” Screwball asked curiously.
“Just put me in and I`ll show you why.” Discord answered as he chuckled.
“Okay daddy.”
Screwball focused her energy and made a vacuum tube appear and attach to box. A red switch appeared on the right side of the box and Screwball switched it on. It hummed and after a short while it promptly sucked Discord into the mischievous package. Screwball turned off the vacuum and dismissed the addition, restoring the box to its formal self.
“Okay, now what? “She asked
“I want you to slide the box to those young ponies over there. “ His muffled voice answered from inside the box.
Screwball slid the box to the unsuspecting fillies. They stopped playing ball and looked at the mysterious box that had apparently come out of nowhere.
“What is it?” asked the Earth Pony.
“It’s a jack in the box. “The Pegasus answered
“Where did it come from?” Asked the now very curious Unicorn.
The two other fillies shrugged.
“I don’t know but I want to play with it.” the Unicorn abruptly as she began to turn the handle.
“I want to play with it!” The Pegasus quickly said as she snatched the box from her.
“Hey give it back; I want to play with it!” The Unicorn demanded.
The two fillies firmly held the box and stared into each other’s eyes and waited to see who would make the next move.
“Girls we don’t have to fight over it, we can all play with it together.” The Earth Pony quickly said hoping to prevent what looked inevitable.
Both of them started to calm down and looked at their friend.
“I guess your right we can play with it together.”
Both of them smiled at each other and placed their hoofs on the handle and start to turn it. As it turned a soft melody played and inspired thoughts of peace.
The box opened and Discord popped out and quickly grew to his normal height. His body was rusted and his skin was flaking off. His right eyeball fell out still attached to his socket. His mouth was full or large razor really sharp teeth. He slowly turned to face them and he looked quite hungry.
“ZOMBIE!” The frightened fillies shouted.
The screaming continued as they ran as fast as their legs could carry them. Discord laughed and restored his body to its usual form. Screwball laughed while coming of the pink fluffy bushes and went straight to her father’s side.
“That was hilarious daddy.” She said still laughing.
He smiled and held in her arms.” You see Screwball it’s so much fun to play tricks on ponies. Soon they’ll look back on today and have a laugh over it and join in on the fun.”
“Is that why you made this place Daddy? “ Screwball asked her father. “To let ponies have fun and do whatever they want without any rules?”
“That’s right Screwball.” He said as he ruffled her mane. “You understand that I made this place to have fun, right?”
“Yes I understand now daddy.”
“That’s my girl, now how about we eat something? I’m starving from scaring...I mean tricking those fillies.”
By a snap of his claw he summoned a bowl of ice cream for screwball and a bowl of salad for him; but instead of vegetables it was full of paper.
“Daddy, why are you eating paper?”
“Well why not?” he replied while he shrugged “I have to say the ink is a very exquisite bouquet of dye with a base of mild sweet notes left behind by a quick drying agent.”
He began to eat the paper and she decided not to ask more questions about it. She quietly ate her ice cream.
“Tomorrow I’m taking you somewhere more fun than here.” He abruptly said in-between mouthfuls of paper.
“Really? What is it daddy?”
“I can’t tell you, it’s a surprise”
“Oh come on daddy… please?” She asked while putting on her best sad puppy face.
“Nice try Screwball but we wouldn’t want to ruin the surprise now would we?”
“Fine daddy.” Screwball replied in a slightly sad tone. “I guess I can wait till tomorrow”
“That’s my girl.” The Draconequus said as he patted her head. “I have a gift for you”
“What is it?”
“Close your eyes and no peeking; I don’t want you to ruin the surprise now.”
Screwball closed her eyes and she began to smile as she wondered what sort of gift her daddy was going to give her. Suddenly she felt something round placed on her head.
“Okay you can open your eyes now.” He said happily.
She opened her eyes and looked up and saw a propeller hat on her head. He put his claw on the propeller gave it a quick spin. It slowly lifted her up and off the ground.
"Wow, I’m flying! “ She shouted happily as she tilted her body to steer. She went a few circles around her father before giving him a hug.
"Thanks dad. I can fly like you now!"
"Now you can fly anywhere you want and spread chaos with your daddy. “ He said as returned the embrace.
Screwball slowly yawned and settled into the hug a bit more.
"Looks like somepony is tired.”
Discord snapped his claw and a cotton candy cloud appeared under Screwball. He gently placed a wide marshmallow under her head and tucked her in under a large quilt. "Now get some rest and I`ll show you the surprise tomorrow.”
"Okay daddy" she said sleepily as she rolled onto her side. "Night daddy"
"Night my little abomination. Sweet chaotic dreams and don’t let the Parasprite bite. “He said as he watched her slowly fall asleep.
In Celestia room the room all was dark and quiet. She couldn’t due to all of things in her head and the sadness in her heart. On top of it all was the single nagging concept that she failed everypony, her sister and all of Equestria. Her mind kept going on and on that discord has won and she lost.
The phrase ‘I’m not fit to watch over Equestria’ kept repeating in her mind.
The door opened and from the torchlight of the hall she could see Luna standing there holding a book.
"Luna?" Celestia asked quietly as the Alicorn entered. "What are you doing?"
"I have something that could stop Discord and his chaos; and restore Equestria to its former glory." Luna answered as she offered the book.
The cover was hard and brown and had a swirl lines surrounding four stars. Celestia recognized the book immediately. It was written by the Unicorn Starswirl the Bearded; who was often called the grandfather of modern magic. She took another look at the design on the cover and felt a strong surge of hope.
"Luna, where did you get this book?" Celestia practically demanded as she took the dusty old tome.
"I found it underneath the library” She answered as she handed over the book. "I found a secret passage in the library it led me to a strange room. In there I found his book. I started to look through his pages and found an answer to stop all this chaos."
"It says how we can defeat Discord?"
Luna opened the book and went directly to a page showing a mysterious tree drawing and neatly printed words that seemed to faintly glow.
The tree of harmony is a magical tree that holds 6 gems called the Elements of Harmony. The Tree of Harmony sleeps within the heart of the Everfree Forest.
"Sister we must go and search for this tree. These Elements may be our only hope of stopping Discord." Luna confidently said in her usual regal tone.
"Alright we’ll go first thing in the morning. We will need to rest first before we go anywhere. We will need all our strength if we hope to traverse the chaotic landscape." Celestia replied with a genuine smile. Luna felt one creep over her own face; it was the first one Celestia had shared in a long time.
Luna paused and slowly went on, this time in a softer tone.
“Sister can I sleep with you with tonight?"
"Of course you can sleep with me tonight Luna." Celestia replied as she made her way to her bed. With uncharacteristically enthusiastic movements Luna jumped onto the bed and lied down next to her older sister. Some moments passed and she broke the silence.
"Sister?"
"Yes Luna?"
"Do you miss mom and dad?"
Celestia tried not to frown or remember their parent’s deaths. Celestia looked at Luna and after a breath for composure she gave an answer.
"Of course I miss them Luna...come sister we must sleep. We will need our energy to find the Tree of Harmony.”
Luna nodded her head as she slowly fell asleep. Celestia began to stare out the window and saw the town being literally being turned upside down by the waves of chaos. Celestia tried to close her eyes and relax and was greeted by the sound of a Draconnequs’ maniacal laughter.
Screwball woke up from her nice chaotic dream. She looked around to see if her daddy was around but he wasn’t around. He wasn't even in his throne. “I guess he went to spread more chaos,” she thought “or even better throwing my surprise place his taking me.”
She started to hear a group of ponies laughing somewhere around her area, she got up and followed the laughter of ponies. Behind the pink fluffy bushes she saw six ponies playing and laughing together.
She seen one colt Pegasus jumping rope with two earth a colt and a filly, one mare unicorn hopscotch by herself and two mare and colt flying together in the air. What are they doing? They’re not spreading chaos their just…playing I don’t understand, she thought It’s a place where you can do whatever you want without any rules.
She came little close to see, then she lost her balance and fell out of the pink fluffy bushes, all the colts and fillies stop playing for a moment and gather around screwball staring at her. Screwball got up rubbing her head then seen ponies around her staring at her. “H…hello” screwball said quietly. “Um…hi,” said a colt pegasus with a grayish blue coat and had a dirty blond mane. “What were you doing hiding in those bushes?” asked a mare earth pony with a red coat and had a read and orange mane. “Um…I was…just seeing what were you doing?” Screwball asked as she started to lower her head down. “Playing…you want to play with us?” a colt pegasus with a pale heather gray and had purple and blue mane. “Really? You want me to play with you?” “Yeah, that's if you want to play with us.”
Screwball looked up and stared at the group of ponies. Some smiled at her and some just stared. “Sure,” she said in a nervous way. “Great, let’s play,” said one of the ponies.
Everypony went back to playing except Screwball she stood there watching them play for a while. She eventually went to join the rest of the fillies and colts.
Discord returned back from his chaos making turning a stallion pegasus into his pet mouse and a mare unicorn thinking a shadow figure is following her to the point where she loss her mind. “That was hilarious, Discord you done it again you sly handsome devil you,” he said to himself.
He looked over to the cotton candy cloud where he left his daughter sleeping, but she wasn’t there. “Now where's my little chaotic creation hiding now?”
He started to hear little colts and fillies laughing. The draconequus followed the laughter of ponies he peek threw the pink fluffy bushes and saw other colts and fillies playing together. He didn’t like it when ponies didn’t play with his chaos. It was the place is where rules didn't exist where could do whatever you like. Then he couldn’t believe his own eyes when he saw his little abomination, Screwball, playing with those non-chaotic ponies. His eyes started to twitch as his temper started rise as his face turned a tint of red. He then got an idea in his chaotic head of his. He slowly cooled his temper and calmed his twitching eyes and slowly grin. “You know what I’m not going to do nothing,” said to himself. “I’m going to let screwball handle her chaos making,”
By a snap of his finger he sat on a reclining chair and summoned a bag of popcorn in his paw. He sat and watched the show of Screwball's first chaos making.
“So screwball what’s with those swirling eyes of yours? Do you have a disease or something?” asked a filly unicorn with a lightly coat and had a curly brown and purple mane. “No, I was born with them,” Screwball answered. “And that propeller hat, where did you get that?”
Screwball looked up from her hat. “Oh, this my dad gave it to me. You like it?” “No, it looks dumb,” she gave her a smirk look “So your dad, what is he a lame hat maker?” “No, my dad is no a hat maker, he's-” “A baker?” said one of the ponies interrupted her. “No he's-“ “Clothes Designer?” “No...” “Black smith?” “No...” Screwball said, starting to get annoyed. “Farmer? A knight?” “NO! MY DAD IS THE LORD OF CHOAS, THE RULER OF EQUESTRIA!” Screwball shouted at them.
Everypony became quiet for a moment then one of the ponies began to laugh braking the silent then everypony laugh as well. “What so funny?!” Screwball shouted, demanding why they are laughing. “The lord of chaos doesn’t have any kids, your lying.” “I…I’m not lying,” Screwball said. “He created me with his chaotic powers to understand love him and the chaos he makes. I even have some of his powers too.” “She’s lying, she just wants to feel so special and important that her ‘daddy’ IS the ruler of Equestria,” said the mare unicorn.
The other ponies whisper to each other convinced that the filly is lying. “Ill prove it,” Screwball shouted.
She looked around what to change to prove her point the she had chaotic powers like her dad. She then saw a frog leap in front of her. With one look, in a flash of light she turned the frog to have the body of orange. The ponies were surprised at the swirly-eyed fill was able to do to the innocent frog. “It's true! She does have powers like him,” the colt pegasus said. “See, I told you I have powers like him and-” “Then she must be evil and a monster. Just like him,” interrupted the mare unicorn. “What!?” Screwball gasped, having a look of shock. “My daddy is not evil or a monster.” “Then explain the terrible things he created all over Equestria?” “He created for everypony to have fun without any rules. It’s a place to have fun.” “Look around you, kid. Does it look like anypony is having fun in this place? This place is horrible, just like you and monster you call a dad.” “No, his not an evil monster.” Screwball said as her eyes began to be watery. “Evil monster...Evil monster...Evil monster...”
The colts and fillies kept taunting over and over again as they began to circle around her. Screwball looked at them circling closer to her chanting ‘evil monster’. She covered her ears to try and block the name calling, but she couldn’t help but cry. As she closed her eyes, all she wanted to do was to make them stop and go away. She could still hear their taunts coming closer and closer to her. At that point something inside of her snapped. She then rose to her hooves. Once she opened her eyes, the foals could see the rage hidden behind her teary eyes. “Fine you want an evil monster,” she evily gring. “You got it.”
Screwball then made black thorny vines appear in the ground that immediately grab the foals. Twhat were once jeering ponies, were now frightened little foals who were desperately trying to break free of their prison. “Y-Your crazy! Let us go” one of the ponies begged. “I’m not crazy,” she chackled, with her head tilted sideways as her left eye started to twitch. “I’m Screwball.”
Discord couldn't help but laugh at to beautiful chaos his daughter was creating. He laugh so hard the he fell out of his chair and was now rolling on the ground laughing. After a few minuted, he was finally able to calm down as he wiped the tears from his eyes. “Oh my Celestia! That was hilarious! My daughter is an absolutely genius.”
As he gathered himself, a light bulb went off in his head. “Oh, that gives me an idea on how to stop Celestia and Luna from reaching that annoying Tree of Harmony. It's a good thing I ate those delicious notes from Celestia's books.”
With a snap of his claw, he had a brown pouch filled with strange black seeds in them.
“P-Please let us go,” they all begged. “And give me a good enough reason. First, you called me a liar. Then, you said that the world my daddy made was bad and didn't enjoy his beautiful chaos. But of all of this, you foal have the nerve called my dad and I evil monsters,” Screwball seethed. “W-We promise not to say anymore of those things and swear to start enjoying the chaos that he made,” pleaded the frighten unicorn. “R-Right guys."
They all immediately nodded their heads in agreement. Screwball stared at them to see if they were lying to her, but all she could see was the acared and frighten foals. She then turned her back to them, and in a flash of light the black thorny vines disappeared. The fillies and colts fell on the ground, and quickly got away from her.
Screwball was all alone, no pony to play with her. She then noticed a puddle of chocolate milk appear. She walked toward it, and looked at her refecltion. A tear fell from her eye, as she could only see a chaotic monster. The tear fell into the puddle, which caused the puddle to her image to become distroted. Once the ripple settled, she saw her dad's reflection standing behind. She quickly turned around to greet her dad, but he wasnt there.
Discord appeared behind her from the puddle. When Screwball saw his shadow, she turned around to hug him. While she then began to cry into his chest. Discord slowly returned her hug and started to stroke her mane. “There, there Screwball. Those bad ponies are gone now. You're safe here with your daddy,” Discord cooed. “Daddy, am I an evil m-monster?” Screwball asked, in between sobs. “Screwball, you're not an evil monster!” he answered. “T-Then why did those mean ponies call me that and saying those bad things about the chaos you make?” “Screwball look at me and listen well.”
She slowly lifted her head to look at him with teary eyes. “My little abomination, you're a truly special pony. Those other ponies were just jealous that they can't what we can do. And well...let's just say they don't know how to have fun,” he said, as he wipe away the tears from her eyes. “Do you understand what I'm saying?" “I guess,” she sighed, as she look down with a sad face. “Come now, my little abomination. Let's turn that frown upside down.”
He then put his claw on her mouth to turn it to a smile. “That's better,” he smiled. “Now, it's time for me to take you to the place I promised I would take you.”
Screwball let out a discontented sigh. “Okay, I guess.”
With a snap, they are teleported to a staduim in Manehatten, where a baseball game was being played. “What are we doing here, daddy?” Screwball wondered. “This is the place I promised to take you,” he said, as he made some peanuts appear and a number one phone finger on his paw. “A baseball game? This is your idea of a fun place?” “Yes, I know it's quite borring, but what's fun about it making this a littel chaotic to liven things up. Just watch this.”
As the pitcher threw the ball to the batter, with a snap of Discord's claw the baseball grew wings and flew around the batter. The earth stallion at the plate was confused as he saw the ball float high above his head. With another snap, the ball lost its wings fell down and struck the batter on his head. Some of the ponies gathered around him to see if he was badly injured.
Discord began to laugh at his antics. Screwball slowly started to laugh as a small smile appeared. “There's that smile I wanted to see from you,” he said, as he put his arm around her. “Can I try something, daddy? I think you'll find it funny and you be proud of me,” she asked, with a slight grin. “I like the look you have my dear,” he grinned. “Of course you can. I'd like to see what you have planned for them.”
The batter finally recovered from the strange baseball incident, the pitcher threw another pitch to the batter hoping nothing else weird would happen. Screwball then focused on the baseball. The ball then sailed past the batter making the ball hit the catcher and knocking him to the ground. The ball then hit then went flying toward the other baseball team and moved around fast like a pinball. “That ball is cursed,” one of the ponies shouted from the staduim. “Run for your lives!”
Some ponies ran out of the staduim, others were getting hit by the 'cursed' baseball. As this was going on, Discord was laughing so hard that his eyes fell out of their sockets.
He soon picked them up off the ground and rubbing them on his chest before putting the back. “Brillant, my dear. Simply brillant!” as he smiled at her.
He then saw something that he thought would be impossible, even with all the magic he possessed. “Well, what do you know... Would you look at that?” he muttered. “What?” Screwball asked
He then pointed his claw on her flank. She glanced down and saw a picture of a baseball and a screw on her flank. “What is it, daddy?” she asked. “Your cutie mark,” he anwsered “Cutie mark? What's that?” “A Cuite Mark its something you get that tells you what you're special talent is. And my dear found it, by spreading chaos.” “Did I make you proud, dad?”
Discord smiled and hug the filly lightly. “You made your daddy very proud. my little abonination,” he said, as he ruffled her mane.
Thw two of them then shared in a joyous laugh. That's my girl,” he smiled.
Deep in the heart of the Everfree Forest princess Celestia and princess Luna were getting searching for the Tree of Harmony. Sometime ago they had reached where the beaten trail had ended and were forced to traverse the mysterious woods without any real direction. Countless others have searched and gave up but too much was at stake for the royal sisters. It almost felt like the trees uprooted and moved when unobserved; as if nature itself wanted to bar their path. The dense branches overhead choked the sun’s rays and left them to rely on their horns for a guiding light. Abruptly there was a bright light ahead of them and their eyes beheld an ancient looking tree. The tree had three marks on its mighty trunk; down on the bottom was the ancient symbol of the moon, then above that was a glyph representing the sun. In alignment in between the two was a star like mark. Within reach of the princesses were five distinctive branches that each held a colored gem.
"The tree of Harmony." Luna said as she regarded the strange tree.
Princess Celestia flew up to the unique marvel of nature and charged her horn.
"Are you sure?" Luna asked as she flew up to her older sister.
"We have managed to discover the only means in which to defeat Discord and free the citizens of Equestia…we cannot turn back now." Celestia used her magic to carefully take the gems one by one off of the ancient tree. "Even without the Elements the Tree of Harmony will possess powerful magic."
Once the last of the gems were removed the star shape opened up and revealed a sixth gem that mirrored the symbol.
"As long as that magic remains it will continue to control and contain all that grows here."
"Let us go find him and take back what is ours!" said Luna with venom in her royal tone.
Celestia nodded her head in silence. The two Alicorn sisters carefully placed the gems into a pouch and began the long march back out of the forest and steeled themselves for their inevitable confrontation with the Master of Chaos.
Some Pegasi Ponies were flying away from a cotton candy cloud that was pouring golf balls; some Earth Ponies were being stalked by trees walking on their roots with the intent on tripping them for no apparent reason at all. Both groups found themselves divided and scattered and only found each other when pushed to the center of the chaos where they found themselves trapped in large fly traps. The Unicorns unfortunate enough to be in the fray tried to use their magic to fend off the trees and clouds but in the end were as helpless as the rest.
Discord and Screwball started to laugh from the chaos unfolding in front of them. All three kinds of ponies all trying and failing to evade their design in their own ways was quite the sight. Discord sat at his throne watching the amazing view that he had made with his daughter.
"Hey dad I want to show you something" Screwball suddenly said with a smile before taking off her propeller hat. With a pink puff of smoke a rabbit appeared inside her hat. The rabbit didn’t quite like the way she grinned as she peered down at it. With a sudden and desperate jump the creature darted away from her before giving her the chance to do anything else.
"Hey wait, come back!” She called after it as she put her hat back on. “Dad I’ll be right back." Screwball said as she started to chase the rabbit.
Discords watched his daughter disappear into the distance and his body started to shake.
"Well...that happened." He said with a shrug. As the chaotic filly vanished from his sight he leaned back in his throne and heard the distinct sound of his two favorite Alicorns approaching. He paused when he noted the steady confident pace. It was different this time; it was as if they were steeled for a fight. He grinned and summoned a pouch to his hand. He waited a little before turning his seat to face them.
"Oh this is so much fun, how about we play pin the tail on the pony?" He said as he pulled what suspiciously looked like Celestia’s tail from behind his back. Luna gave him a confident stare and Celestia briefly turned to see that it was indeed hers that he was holding.
"Play time is over for you, Discord." The elder sister said as she took a single step forward.
"Oh I doubt that.” Discord said replied as he reached into the bag and fished out a handful of black seeds. "Hungry?"
Celestia and Luna didn’t responded with silent stares and narrowing eyes.
"Suit yourselves. “ He said as he began messily eating the seeds. More fell to the ground than went into his mouth and some of them flew as far enough to lightly hit them in their faces.
Celestia’s horn glowed and the Elements in her bag came forth. They neatly hovered in a row in front of the two.
"Oh what have you got there?" Discord asked as he touched his goat beard. A slight grin came over his face and looked inquisitively at the strange gems in front of the princesses. "The Elements of Harmony!" Celestia answered as the gems began to rapidly orbit around them.
"With them we will defeat you! ”Luna shouted with equal enthusiasm.
Discord began to laugh and tossed the bag of seeds aside.
"You should see yourselves right now! The expressions on your faces are so intense, so sure of yourselves!" He said as he continued to laugh.
Celestia and Luna put their horns together and unleashed a powerful rainbow that shot into the air before hammering down towards him. Discord continued laughing unaware of what was coming.
“Hilarious!” Was all he said; he wanted to say more but nothing came out. He couldn’t even move.
Screwball chased after the rabbit all the way to the edge of the Everfree Forest. The critter darted into the trees and she halted at the threshold. The trees towered over her as if they wanted to block her entry; it was as if nature itself was trying to say that she wasn’t welcome in the woods. She stopped looking at the dark scary forest and sighed to herself.
"Oh well… guess I could show him some other trick that I thought of." Screwball began her trip back to her daddy, but paused when she saw a big rainbow shoot into the sky. It crashed down abruptly and a large wave of magic expanded as it rocketed in all directions.
The wave shot through her and to her surprise it just harmlessly passed on as if she wasn’t there. Screwball started looking around and saw that everything was different. That town in the distance had a different air about it. The cotton candy clouds overhead were no longer pink but white. The ground was no longer in a checkerboard pattern, she saw a dense floor of thin strange green plants that reached to the sky and the beaten path was an odd dark brown. All of her father’s Chaos was gone.
"Daddy?" Screwball yelled in fear and worry as she started running to find her family.
As screwball ran towards he father’s throne she saw a large group of ponies gathered around something she couldn’t quite see. She slowly navigated under and around sets of legs until she got to the heart of the crowd and saw the two Alicorn sisters and a strange and familiar statue.
"Excuse me sir." She said as she poked a nearby gray stallion who then turned and looked down at her.
"What’s going on?" Screwball asked once their eyes met.
“The two princesses saved all of Equestria… the Lord of Chaos was turned into stone….we’re free...finally free." The gray stallion said with a mix of relief and joy.
"Turned to stone…" Screwball softly repeated in a low frightful voice.
Screwball ran to the statue. It had to be a lie. It had to be a trick he was playing. Any second now he would show his true self again and surprise them all. She reached the statue’s feet and smiled confidently as she waited. Slowly her smile faded and her eyes went wide and her body just froze. She couldn’t believe it but it was true. Her dad was turned to stone. Some members of the Royal Guard tired heavy ropes to her father’s waist and pulled him onto a carriage.
"Come sister we must go back to our now normal home."Celestia said with a mix of relief and joy in her voice.
"Sister what are we going to do with Discord?" Inquired Luna in a curious tone.
Celestia looked at the draconequus trapped in stone and the answer hit her.
"I think I have the perfect spot to put him." Celestia replied as she slightly smiled.
The two Alicorns seated themselves at the front of the carriage and it began to move. Screwball silently followed them while still in a state of shock. She didn’t know what to think or what to do…she didn’t even know how to feel except for suddenly alone and afraid for the first time in her life.
Princess Celestia and Princess Luna arrived at the Canterlot Royal and watched in silence as their guards carefully placed the statue down as if he was any other plant or piece of artwork. Celestia’s horn glowed as she lowered the sun and Luna brought up the moon in its place. They both walked away from the garden feeling tired from their ordeal but very eager to get on with their lives. The confidently marched knowing that they had won and that Discord’s reign was finally over.
Once they were gone along with the last of the guards Screwball quietly pulled herself out of a large hedge. She took one look at her father and abandoned all thoughts of stealth and raced forward to his feet.
"Daddy? Daddy can you hear me?" She asked the statue. She silently begged for an answer; anything to at least let her know if he was even still alive in there.
No answer came. Screwball eyes began to water and she softly began to sing. "So there you are my Dad, a statue oh so cold so dead You tore there world apart and everypony lost their head Now I must carry on making Chaos for you instead 'Cause you are my Daddy Discord and I am a piece of you." Screwball sighed sadly as tears began to distort her vision. "I miss you daddy." She whispered to the statue. She began to cry and her heart skipped a beat upon hearing a low chuckle. She slowly turned around and swore that she saw a faint purple circular glow coming from his now grey and cracked chest.
"Daddy?" Screwball softly said her father’s voice filled her head. "Please do not cry my dear your daddy is still very here And when I do bust out we can re-spread the random fear Our joy will be their pain as their world drowns in chocolate rain 'Cause I am your Daddy Discord and you are a piece of me!"
Discord began to laugh from within his stone prison. Screwball wiped her tears away and shared his laughter. [Screwball] "Remember that one time you took me to that baseball game? I got my Cutie mark..." [Discord] "...and things were never quite the same." [Together] "My wild pitches flew driving the ponies all insane 'Cause You are My Daddy Discord and I am a piece of You!" Screwball laugh a little more as life swelled back into her chest. [Discord] Oh simple spawn of mine without you I would be so lost You have stuck by my side... [Screwball] ...No matter what the tragic cost. [Together] Your crazed imagined have given me a new found strength. 'Cause You are my Daughter Screwball and....one day I’ll be breaking out of here!" Screwball sighed and lied down on the grass next to her petrified father as the glowing orb faded into nothing.
"I miss you daddy." She whispered as closed her eyes as a single tear escaped.
