A Galaxy Ranger story. Season 1 Finale.

It was a nightmare. Trixie couldn’t believe her eyes. Her beloved mentor had transformed into a monster! Luna had declared herself, Nightmare Moon, Eternal Queen of Equestria. Worse, in her madness, she had decided to banish her sister’s sun, bringing upon an Eternal Night that would never end! Now, Trixie and her fellow Galaxy Rangers find themselves in a dying world, battling against a queen whose power seems unbeatable.

Everything is not lost, however. Trixie finds herself new and unexpected allies, but a terrible new foe as well. A familiar face from the past still holds a grudge and won't even die until she's settled the score.

Luna used to be haunted by dark thoughts of jealousy, but it was her sister who fell to the darkness first. She declared eternal day, before she was banished by the Elements of Harmony, leaving Luna to rule over the land of Equestria, alone.

Now, almost one thousand years later, Luna has taken another personal student under her wing, one with the potential for great things. Luna knows that she will greatly change Twilight Sparkle's life, but has no idea just how greatly Twilight will change hers.

The death of a loved one is never easy, especially when you are destined to a life of immortality. In her time of loneliness, Twilight learns that no matter how lonely she may feel... she will never truly be alone.

The moon pony has returned! But, in order to cancel the eternal night, Twilight Sparkle needs to… get some sleep! And besides, why all that panic? Will she change her mind when somepony pays her a visit uninvited?

I published the original text in Russian in 2015. Over the years, I went through several iterations in attempt to translate it into English, though I wasn't prepared enough, and failed. Until now, that I consider myself prepared enough, and the text satisfying my minimal requirements for publication. I also thank FireMedic755, Karibela, Kean, Koekelbag, Majora, metallusionsismagic, MIKEANTHONY321 for their contribution during this journey.

Afaik, the English expression "the man in the moon" is used to refer to (besides the face-like pattern on the satellite's surface) someone regarded as out of touch with real life. Russian has a similar expression, supposing that the absentminded individuals "fell from the moon". Thus, the story's title refers to (and connects them) both Twilight and NMM, more figuratively for the former, and more literally for the latter.

Twilight and Luna, due to a minor incident, are stuck doing a job they would rather not do. They are stuck overseeing a dance for the up and coming future nobles from Celestia's school on what should have been a date night for the two. Whatever shall two very powerful princesses do in this situation?

Luna and Celestia's fight took a rather different turn from in most universes. Instead of assuming a corrupted form, Luna took those who supported her and left for the moon, where she and her followers still live a thousand years later. But sooner or later, worlds must collide, and when the ponies of the moon meet the ponies of Equestria, the sisters' conflict won't be so easy to resolve.

First in the Worlds-verse, and a part of the greater The Powers That Be multiverse.

Where am I? How did I get here? Why do they keep calling me 'Nightmare Moon'? And why do I look like her?

Those have been questions I've asked myself since I woke up with no memory of how this all happened. Now, in a world of talking magic ponies, I am soon taught the magic of friendship by a pony by the name of Twilight Sparkle and her friends.

And that's not the end of it; every night, I have visions of... me in another world, one that looks so familiar yet so alien. I don't know why, but I feel like I've been there before. The question is... how?

Twilight and Luna. Twiluna. Tuna.

The very generalized EQG-verse versions of high school senior Twilight and Vice Principal Luna illicitly hookup and have a spicy time together.

It should also be noted that the first two chapters were written well before Rainbow Rocks was even in production, let alone human Twilight's reveal. The story continues that AU and pays little heed to the actual EQG canon. While sex is very strongly implied, this is not a clopfic. Like most of my fics, I tend to update it when I feel like it and/or the Muse is slapping me around.

This story is a series of oneshots exploring the romantic pursuits of Twilight Sparkle and Princess Luna. More or less, deleted scenes in the show taking place during or after certain episodes.

p.s. -- unlike the other stories in the Project series, this one will not focus on Season One, due to lack of Moonbutt.
