The Confessions
Twilight and I are lying down on the grass star gazing and pointing at the stars and the constellations that filled the night sky. There is a big smile on my marefriend’s face and I know I have one on my face as well.
It has been about three days since my fight against Daybreaker, who happens to be my older sister, three days since Twilight confessed her feelings for me, and three days since we officially began our relationship. I am extremely happy to say that the relationship has been great and we’re happy as we can ever be. My undying love for Twilight continues to grow and I know Twilight’s love for me continues to grow as well. We have grown and become much closer than ever before. We both even sleep together and share the same bed, which happens to be Twilight’s bed.
I point to a constellation that catches my eye.
“Twilight, look at that,” I say to Twilight. She looks to the constellation that I’m pointing at. “That one looks like a baby rabbit.”
“It sure does,” says Twilight. She turns her attention away from the group of stars before pointing to a constellation next to it. “Hey, that one looks like you.”
I look to see. She is right; the constellation looks a lot like me. Then, I notice something odd. Right next to the Nightmare Moon constellation is one that looks like Twilight. I point this out to Twilight.
“And I see one that looks like you right next to that one,” I say. Twilight looks and sees that I am right.
“You’re right,” she says. She turns to look at me. “And I also happen to see the most beautiful mare I’ve ever met laying right next to me.”
I can’t help but blush at this compliment. Ever since we got together, she calls me that every time we spend time together and to be honest, it makes me feel good and love her even more.
“And I can say the same thing about you,” I say. Now, it’s Twilight’s turn to blush. “Do you know how much I love you, Twilight?”
“I sure do, Selina,” she says. “You tell me every day. I love you as much as you love me.”
I scoot closer to Twilight and she does the same. We are now about an inch away from each other. I wrap my left hoof around Twilight’s right hoof and she does the same.
There is a moment of silence and I stare at the constellations that filled the night sky.
“Hey, Selina?” I look to Twilight. I see her giving me a blank expression.
“Yes, Twilight?”
“I have been wanting to ask you something for a long time now,” Twilight says.
“What is it?” I ask curiously.
“When did you start having feelings for me?” she asks. This question catches me off guard.
I stare at her with wide eyes, surprised and shocked that this is the very question that Twilight wanted to ask me for a long time. I look away from her and let out a sigh. I know when I started having feelings for her and at the time, I didn’t understand what I was feeling or why I was thinking the things I was thinking because of my amnesia.
I look back to Twilight and see her giving me that same blank expression.
“Well,” I begin to say, “I do know when I started having feelings for you but during that time, I didn’t fully understand it because of my amnesia. It happened when I was soaking in the tub back at Canterlot Castle the night before the move. My thoughts shifted to you and your cute smile. That’s when I felt that feeling in my chest and I had no idea what it was back then. I now look back to that moment and remember that was the day I was falling in love with you.”
I see the expression on Twilight’s face change into one of complete shock. I wait for her to speak, but when she didn’t, I decide to take the chance to continue my confession.
“As time went on, every time I thought about you, I felt that same feeling in my chest grow and I became more confused by it. When you introduced me to Rarity after the incident with the book, she quickly found out my feelings for you and told me that I was falling in love with you. When she said this to me, I was scared and confused. I didn’t know how to process it and I had no clue if you were into mares at that time. Days later, I went over to see Rarity and told her that I was going to confess to you. She told me to go for it. You remember that night when I confessed to you?”
Twilight nods her head.
“Well, that was the moment I decided that I was going to confess my feelings to you right there and then. When I told you how I felt about you, I felt relieved and waited for your response. Not long after, you ran off and I believed that you didn’t feel the same way for me. I felt my heart shatter into a million pieces. That’s when I ran off and got captured by Daybreaker. After the fight, you confessed that you felt the same way for me and I never felt so happy in my life.”
I watch and wait for Twilight’s response. She looks away and lets out a sigh.
“Selina… I… I don’t know what to say,” she says softly. “I never thought that your feelings went way back to the day when you woke up with no memories of your past. To tell you the truth, I started having feelings for you when I saw you looking out into the horizon back at Canterlot Castle. You have no idea how absolutely beautiful and stunning you looked with the Sun shining down on you. How the Sun’s light was reflecting on your mane and how it made it shine and radiate. How your regal black coat sparkled beautifully from the Sunlight. I even remember seeing the genuine curiosity and love you had in your eyes. It was like I was staring at a mare who possessed a beauty she never even knew she had.
“A few days after you moved in to live with me, I got to know you better and started feeling the same strange feeling in my chest. When you told me how you felt about me, I was confused and scared that I didn’t know what to do. That was when I ran off and the next day, I realized you had gone missing last night. When my friends came over upon learning about your disappearance, they asked me what happened. I told them everything and that was when Rarity told me everything.
“It was at that moment I fully realized who I had living with me. It wasn’t Nightmare Moon; it was a kind and gentle mare who only desired to have friends and be loved like everypony else. It was at that moment I realized that I fallen in love with you. I felt so guilty for what happened. I wanted to go and try to find you, but I didn’t know where to look. All I wanted to do was to apologize and make amends with you.
“After you defeated Daybreaker, I decided to confess to you that I truly felt the same way for you and I don’t regret it one bit.”
Twilight looks me in the eyes and a smile spreads across her face.
“Selina, I love you for you. I don’t care if you look like Nightmare Moon, or that you were once a human male from another world. I love you for just you and nothing will ever change that.”
I stare at Twilight with wide eyes, shock overtaking my entire body. I… I never knew anything about this. That explains why she was so happy to see me when I came back to Ponyville a few days after Daybreaker took me away. It explains everything.
I place my right hoof on my lips as I feel a smile spread across my face and my eyes well up with tears. I feel a powerful feeling of happiness flow throughout my body as the tears are now trailing down my face.
“Oh, Twilight,” I say before I wrap her up in a big hug. “You have no idea how much that means to me. I’ve never been this happy in my entire life and you are the greatest marefriend I could ever ask for. I love you so very much, Twilight.”
I feel Twilight wrap her forelegs around me and I feel her wet tears stain my coat.
“I love you so very much too, Selina.”
I look down at Twilight and she looks up at me. I lower my head down and kiss her on the lips. Twilight responds by kissing me back.
We enter Twilight’s bedroom and I let out a loud yawn.
“Looks like somepony is tired,” Twilights say teasingly.
“I sure am,” I reply. We walk over to the bed and climb in under the soft blanket.
I scoot over, wrap my forelegs around Twilight and press her up against my body. She feels so warm to the touch, despite that we spent a good while on the cold grass. She looks up at me and gives me a smile.
“Goodnight, Selina,” Twilight says before she closes her eyes and instantly falls asleep.
“Goodnight, Twilight,” I whisper. I give her a kiss on the forehead before I close my eyes and fall asleep.
