In an ongoing war against the ever-persisting changeling threat, Twilight Sparkle grows ever desperate to rid herself, her closest friends, and Equestria of Chrysalis and her army for good. Confiding in her friend Rainbow Dash that she feels as though all of their efforts have been for naught, begins to consider more drastic measures.

Rainbow, out of concern, and love her longtime friend, persuades her out of it, but after a day of fun between the two ends in tragedy, and after receiving a threatening visit from Chrysalis herself in the dead of night, Twilight finds herself with seemingly no other options but to open herself up to dark magic.

From there, things only get worse.

Discord knew this was coming. He knew. So did Princess Twilight. They knew. They saw it coming a mile away. Yet, they let this happen anyway. Why couldn't they just let things stay the same? Who's the bigger fool here?

So this is a pretty simple story I pumped out because I was in a depression-fueled journey through immortality and its repercussions after seeing the finale of the show and realizing we've been right about it all since bucking SEASON 3! But whatever, it's fine, we're all fine. Just so you know I did NOT have any proof readers or editors so if you want to point stuff out that I got wrong, I'll happily fix it. Radiant Star, son of Princess Cadance and Prince Shining Armor. Royal Prince of the Crystal Empire, widow to Princess Firestar, and father to the twins Flash and Blaze. And loving uncle/cousin to many many foals from Princess Twilight and Rainbow Dash's family. He's had a long life, one filled with pain. But also filled with love and happiness.  Indeed, to most ponies he has a life to be coveted, one to idolize and long for. There’s just one problem.

Radiant Star isn’t living his life. Radiant Star is simply waiting to die.

For Twilight, her relationship with Rainbow Dash couldn't be better. She can't help but be happy whenever they're together, and the usually abrasive pegasus has shown her softer side. Recently, however, Twilight's started to notice that there's something on Rainbow's mind. Something bothering her about their relationship, and Twilight's determined to find out what it is. The answer she gets might just confuse her more.

After all, when it comes to something as subjective as emotions, there's no handy reference guide to tell you how you're feeling.

Twilight has settled into her new castle, which now feels like a home thanks to her friends. The only problem is she's still not sleeping and still finding excuses to keep herself busy. The last few weeks had been particularly stressful. She thought that once everything calmed down her life would get back to normal, but something that happened affected her more deeply than she thought.

Rainbow Dash can tell something is wrong. She wants to know if she can help.

This story is a sequel to Little Consequences

When Twilight Sparkle woke up from a coma, she had amnesia and was unable to remember anything save for her name. She couldn't even recall Rainbow Dash, who was the first pony to welcome her back to the world. While upset by Twilight's inability to remember her, Rainbow Dash made an oath; to help Twilight move on from her shattered past and look forward to the future, and make the most of their situation.

Now back in Ponyville, and with the knowledge that they were once very close, Twilight is trusting Rainbow Dash to be her guide as they begin their life in Ponyville anew. The road won't be easy, but with friends like this, what does Twilight have to fear?
