Radiant Star, son of Princess Cadance and Prince Shining Armor. Royal Prince of the Crystal Empire, widow to Princess Firestar, and father to the twins Flash and Blaze. And loving uncle/cousin to many many foals from Princess Twilight and Rainbow Dash's family. He's had a long life, one filled with pain. But also filled with love and happiness. Indeed, to most ponies he has a life to be coveted, one to idolize and long for. There’s just one problem.
Radiant Star isn’t living his life. Radiant Star is simply waiting to die.

The pure cold dread I felt when I also suspected a trap was quickly overwhelmed by how happy I was that Radiant was given this moment with what seems to be Firestar, at least to his senses. I also, ultimately, didn't care what was causing it in the moment. Firestar's death hit me the hardest of all the TiM OCs so this felt directly targeted at me.

Just a couple quick corrections I spotted at first glance. So excited for TiM continuing! I reeeeaaaalllly want to see how Echoside and Starlight work out- I can't remember but I think they stopped being mentioned after Ataxia let them "borrow" her magic to make foals.
Between the special someponies his two sons had found, Radiant was most off-putted by Flash’s. Vela, the hippogriff, was—technically—family. Vela’s grandmother was the brother of Flash’s grandfather, which made them second cousins if Radiant did his math right.
This Chapter is really giving me the Feelio's and I don't know If I am ready.
New mental image: *Bonk!* "Are you saying you think I need to look younger, Dear?"
The entire exchange leading up to this was adorkable. Horrifyingly adorkable.

I do love how Firestar shows up in this chapter. Her genuinity stands out even from Nightshade's. She's able to be carefree one instant and thoughtfully calculating the next one, all while showing off unrivaled and undying love
Annoying theorycrafting: I still can't help but feel concerned this is some sort of elaborate trick. Radiant is old, barely contributing to ruling, and not just out of shape but fat apparently. So luring him away to the north shouldn't be necessary for any plan against the Crystal Empire. The only thing that makes sense to me is this is a trap for somepony else that cares for him but wouldn't be so easily convinced to head to the northern mountains otherwise.
Or, hopefully, something entirely different is happening and I am overthinking this.

Well this was adorable~ and great to see Radiant Spurred into action. This really reminds me of that King that was poisoned by Wormtongue? in Lord of the rings- how he regained his youth and Vigor once he was out of the Great hall.

I figured Ana would make a return if this series ever continued, but I didn't expect her in this story, and I could never have guessed any of this.
If it would really become possible to return anyone to life that is great for those we care about but this series has irredeemable characters for whom death was the only solution. A return to life for any of the defeated villains would be terrible suffering for everyone. This power/discovery could do great harm if applied for evil. Is that a reason to try and destroy it now? I guess we'll find out what Radiant decides.
I totally forgot about Ana- but wasn't there a law about ponies dying / souls being born? Cause when the scythe broke, people died but couldn't pass on, and no new foals could be born (all born stillborn) If ana Pulls soul out of their Elysium or out of the ether won't that equate to the same thing? that soul passed on to continue the cycle- putting that soul back onto equis may cause problems?

I don't remember if I've commented on any story in this series before. I don't think I have, and even if I have, I'll comment here.
Thank you for writing this series. Thank you for the time and effort, the heart and love, and the thought and consideration you've put into this series. While it might not have aged the best (I tried to reread it either early this year or early last year and ended up stopping for some reason I couldn't remember; I need to reread this series), it's something I've treasured. I have had fond memories of this series for years now, and it's always been something that I can look back on a smile. Despite the pain that the characters have gone through, pain that I must admit I can share in when I think on this story, it has been something wonderful for me. The story this series tells is, in my opinion, wonderful.
So thank you for having written this series. Thank you for having written this story.

I just realized little Dayspring and Nightshade would be 2 peas in a pod constantly trying to one up each other on who could be the kindest.
I am addicted to this series. I just want like, a slice of life story that just covers day to day stuff among everyone and the various adventures they go on. Like, there doesn't need to be some BBEG, just some interpersonal drama or some random journey of exploration.
