Weird experimental piece that took third place in Seer's Spookfest - a Quills and Sofas speedwriting contest that took place over a year ago. It was originally written in 75 minutes, and this version has a new ending ;)

Twilight Sparkle wasn't expecting Sombra to be there when she woke up in her cage, not that she was expecting the cage in the first place.

But even if she had guessed correctly on those two outcomes, the conversation that followed was unexpected. Especially his views on ruler-ship.

Twilight meets Sunset Shimmer, and is thrown head first into the wildest ride of her young life. A tale of rebellious 18-year-olds (one reluctantly so), messy relationships, and caring friends. Rating will likely change.

Flash Sentry knows his friends are superheroes. He loves that about them. But when he gets the call that they've gotten hurt fighting the forces of evil magic, he doesn't know how to cope. He doesn't know how to help. He probably would've gotten a speeding ticket if his dad wasn't the chief of police.

To make matters worse, Timber Spruce shows up.

Forgiveness is a tricky thing to earn. Most people aren't willing to give it, and when you find the rare person who will hand it out like candy, you can never really convince yourself that it's real. This all gets much worse when said forgiveness has the same weight as a royal pardon.

Sunset Shimmer is learning what it's like to be forgiven. But there's someone else who has to learn, right alongside her.

There's something off with Sunset Shimmer, something not quite right. Things are...fine, her relationship is...fine, but maybe that's the problem.

What can you do when you wake up in the arms of a half-naked friend but scream and panic? Everyone tries to assure Sunset Shimmer that she's freaking out over nothing, that it's normal that her boyfriend was in her bed this morning. However, Sunset knows better. She knows Flash isn't her boyfriend, and she knows the mysterious force that keeps her from breaking up with him is nothing but trouble.

Sometimes, all that having an empathetic talk between two friends requires is cool heads and a quiet moment.

And sometimes, it takes a killer robot attack.

Sunset Shimmer and Flash Sentry just needed a bit more of a push than most... because they have more to talk about.
