Luna's transformation into Nightmare Moon was not gradual, oh no. In fact, the transition to having a heart full of contentment to one full of darkness took only a few minutes. It was just one, shocking fact that put her way over the edge.

Amusing, to say the least. Although, you do have quite a few errors in Luna's grammar. I will compile a list shortly and put it here.

"For most ponies, the night tis merely..."
You don't need 'tis' here, as that phrase is the old-fashioned way of saying it's, or 'it is'. Instead, 'is' would suffice.

"What is this 'afternoon delight' that you speak of?"
'That thou speakest of'

"Do you mean to say there are ponies who partake in the pleasures of the flesh whilst the sun is about to set?"
I think you mean 'whilst the sun has yet to set' or something similar, because what you have now implies that ponies do it in the evening, as opposed to the daytime (which is what I think you were going for. If not, ignore this)

"What is on your mind, guard? We would like to know."
'On thy mind, guard'

"We command you to speak!"

"Thus, thou knowst not of what you speak!"
Typo, 'knowest'

If members of the royal guard have experience with pleasures of the flesh taking place in the daytime, could it be that some members of the royal family could be intimately related in this occurance?
