That's unfair though, let's be honest. The internet wasn't around, after all, when De Sade wrote about nobles who had children solely for the purpose of defiling them, or delighting in things that make Headless here seem downright tame.
i really don't recommend reading his material, but De Sade kinda puts the whole concept of "modern decadence" into perspective. It isn't the intermet. It isn't kids these days. We've always been fucked up as a species, and it's hard to begrudge fictional indulgence in it when altogether too many people do that shit for realsies.
This downvote circle is a great example of hypocrisy in the fandom. The community that thrives to be inclusive and accepting can't even see through it's own little biases in the making. This is not a legitimate critique of your work, headless_rainbow. This is an attack against your person.

There is no rule on how the downvote has to be used. Some use it solely for the writing quality, i.e. spelling, punctuation, and grammar. Others use it when the story content is what is so unpleasant, like here. Most people who use downvotes take both of these into consideration to some degree or another.

Did you know I did research and found that not a single serial killer has ever been an author of fictional erotic or horror, and I really did look because I was worried about it myself. The only fictional author I found at all among them was a children's book author (Charles Kembo). You know there's a scene in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure where the villain zombie-fies a woman to make her eat her own baby. There's a scene in Helluva boss where they shoot a child and then hack their body up into pieces before giving them back to their mother in a bloody sack, all played as if it's a hilarious joke (which it is), and it's not even gore-censored.
