This story is a sequel to Exit Anon-a-miss. Enter the dragon
After a near death experience that almost claimed his life, and a recent scolding from Sunset Shimmer, Twilight decided it's time she, Spike, and all of their friends had a heart-to-heart talk about their friendship and the actions that says otherwise.
Awesome job. I loved your portrayal of the characters and captured the right reactions and emotions for each of them. I can't wait to see you update your other stories like Spike's Dog Tale and more
❤
This was boring and repetitive. You hold on to one single piece of information and run with that single point over and over again, to the point where moderation seems to be a foreign concept. The same words are used and little detail is put into genuine portrayal of emotion.
Make no mistake this is decent, it is readable but to anyone looking for an experience it is not going to cut it. You cannot garner emotional responses from pseudo arguments and superficial descriptions.
Look at writers like Holy, Anon pencil and even Akumokagetsu if you are so inclined. You'd find that their details are mild, subtle but powerful and usually placed in a way that sounds good, a nice flow of reading, so to speak with few, if any, repititon.
I'm kinda surprised this was featured. It only has 16 likes and 3 comments.
Certainly love to read this when I saw it just some minutes ago.
Twilight and the others sure needed their eyes to be opened on all of this. Since if they don't change their act/fix that, in a scenario Spike might end up falling down a dark path in a way like what happened with Stygian and Princess Luna(and most likely it would not end well at all for the girls).
Though I am pretty surprised it turns out this(and the previous story) took place around sometime after season 9.
Kind of wished Rainbow Roadtrip got pointed out since sadly Spike was left out of the fun trip(Yeah, I know it turns out there was a big problem but initially, the trip was just going to be something fun). Doesn't help that the reason why he got left out was due to a iffy reason(he had to watch over the darn school while they are gone, even though that's was STARLIGHT'S job iirc).

I can't believe I missed to include that in the story.
Is she referring to you or the writers of the show?

Who do you think?
You’re not serious are you going to have Rainbow Dash give up Apple cider do you?
9984149
I see, lol
By the way, I forgot to mention that when you seen the similarities with Spike and Sunsent, I can see Princess Luna fitting that too due to the mess with Nightmare Moon and how she was basically an outsider due to the 1000 years gap caused by said mess.
What do you think about the season 9 premire now that I mention it?
If Gabby were to hear this, she'll completely lose it and go on an unadulterated tirade then lock herself and Spike in a room where she'll spoil him endlessly.

Anyway, I've made some updates and included the parts to make it where the events of Rainbow Roadtrip was included, and gave you credit for mentioning the said special. What do you think? Any better?
Not to mention how Pinkie Pie was leading a hysteria that can only be described as on par with the Red Scare of the 1920s or the Crucible in the Halloween special, starring our favorite Princess of the Night.
You mean how Spike was with the Mane Six throughout the first episode, until the end when he suddenly disappeared and reappeared again in the next episode as a zombie, along with Starlight Glimmer? I don't know, I'm not the screenwriter for that episode, and why bother? What's done is done.

It had 16 likes and 3 comments. And it's only featured if you turn the "view mature" filter off in the settings.
At the end, I spotted a Frozen reference.
I haven't bothered to read this story after the first time when it was posted, because there's one major issue I have with it:
There hasn't been any real explanation in the show as to why Spike's been missing from a lot of the Mane 6's activities. Yet for some reason the majority of the brony community seems to support the theory that he's just been a constant victim of neglect. And when you have stories like this that are based on that theory, sometimes the characters become completely unlikable just for the sake of drama. In this story and the prequel, for example, we find out that Spike was handed a bunch of chores while Twilight and the girls went to some party at Sweet Apple Acres. You might feel differently, but I just can't imagine Twilight treating him that way in the show. And on top of that, it turns out that this all takes place after the events of "Sparkle's Seven". An episode that does well to give Spike the appreciation he deserves. And to have him treated so poorly after that just feels like a complete slap to the face
There have been some episodes such as "The Cutie Map" and "Dungeons and Discords" that show that Spike has his own social life outside of the Mane 6. And I wish people were more open to that than just seeing him as some loner with only these 6 girls to hold on to

Glad someone could put into words better than I ever could, the feelings for these stories. Is Spike was as abused or neglicted as fans seem to think he is, he probably would've stayed with his own kind when he had the chance.
Or something. He wouldn't go back to Twilight or any of the girls for sure.

You have a point there, it's just frustrating that Hasbro didn't show that properly from time to time.

No, I have to bother about what happened to Spike in that episode due to it rubs it in that no matter what Spike does, he's ultimately in the girls' shadows due to he's not an Element Bearer..(yes, he did save the day a few times before but this episode rubs it in that it outweighed by so many times he got screwed due to not being a "chosen one" like the girls are. In fact due to what happened here it felt like Spike's achievement of saving the Crystal Empire got cancelled out there)
In fact that episode is a huge example of the problems with how Spike gets left out or suddenly excluded or something.
Such as him suddenly not with the girls for no freaking reason(and how it bit him in the ass hard this time)
This can't really be brushed aside as "what done is done", just no..
It really left a bitterness within me(which is worsened due to it turns out its Discord's fault this happened because of his "plan" there) Whats worse is how the show ignored the repercussions with what happened to Spike in that episode. Its just brushed aside.
I can't really brush it aside..
Reason why I took so long to reply to this one was due to my nervousness and such..
And ended up answering due to running into this comment again by chance.
Sorry..
Yes, Pinkie. The writers are the real bad guys here. You poor thing.
!Slang warning!

Yeah except for the girls everyone else is a sidekick and twilight just pretends they are close. She never even bothered visiting sunset despite the fact that she is a short trip away from her.
Spike hanging out with other dragons even if they turned out not to nice people is understandable considering he wants to understand his heritage. Where he came from and what makes up dragons culture. Being raised among ponies he has never learned any of this. And considering how he freaked out when puberty hit forgetting that just because dragons handle puberty a certain way doesn't mean that twilight would act the same.
In my opinion he didn't seem like he wanted to go with the mane 6, however Twi did tell him to be safe. so i think This needs to be leaved out.
I think its dangerous for spike to go on missions that's why twilight didn't sometimes take him with her. Remember the starlight EP? yeah that's ONE thing that spike cannot come. its very dangerous for him to face actual threat, much likely sombra. so I don't see why he should go if he'll end up dead.
I don't think that compares with the season 9. Spike was caught off guard and twilight GAVE herself up for him just to keep him save. I never saw the winter Zilla ep but I'm pretty sure twilight was pressured. jeez you are overlooking twilight alot. so don't compare S9 to winter Zilla cause its obvs different.
(that also gives me another point of WHY spike cannot face actual threat since in S9 The damn queen bug took spike and twi was so off guard. I suggest you rewatch.)
I was just wondering why Twilight had Spike stay behind in that special. I mean couldn't she have gotten Starlight to watch the school?
