Aw that is an adorable story. In a way, I do like first dates (Though if Spike were anymore nervous, he'd stroll in with a bowtie in an attempt to look fancy). But the great thing about spending time with Gabby is that she's that kind of girl who would enjoy doing anything as long as she has someone to do things with and throughout the day they find they have a lot in common. This and the last story almost feels like one of those anime stories about that one guy who by chance decides to reach out to someone after a lonely period of focusing on himself, then he stumbles across this lass with interesting stories, and the moment they start hanging out some crazy shenanigans follow. Well... Not 'too' crazy, though I think Gabby is better off not eating those gemstone cupcakes (Kids, don't try this at home... Seriously).

Overall, it's a pretty fun little page to read. Makes me wonder how things carry on throughout the remainder of the story if there is more to look forward to of course.

Well for one thing, this story took place before a certain SOMEPONY went crazy jealous and got in between these two besties. So that's one crazy scenario we can certainly check off our list.

Oh yeah for sure. At this point, Rarity has no remote idea of what Spike is up to. There might not be a need to but if Spike would need to vent some of his frustrations about Rarity for instance (Even though they seem on good terms) it would have to be with some other creature who'd listen besides Twilight. Even though he doesn't appear to be so, but... Who knows?

Awww this was totally adorable & awesome, really loved this first date for them so to speak!!!

If you make another sequel may I suggest Gabby first seeing Spike in his brand new wings, should be quite fun her reacting to that!

Such an adorable one-shot. Absolutely LOVED Spike and Gabby's first face-to-face meeting. The two's large amount of common ground is great stuff. And the fact this takes place before "the Molt Down" is another great detail. If only the series had the time constraint for THIS type of detail.

At any rate, VERY good work on the exchanges, characterizations and future story set-up in all the right places.

By the way, about that song link for Celine Dion's 'I'm Alive', this one happens to be one of my favorite Celine Dion songs growing up. Such a beautiful upbeat song, especially when we see the video of her doing it live.
