At the bottom of Stable 10, the great generator that has kept its residents alive for centuries is beginning to fail. As solutions are sought within, one pegasus sets her sights on the very ponies who built - and possibly sabotaged - her home.

Poor Chops :(
He so desperately wants to be forgiven, but that's a really tall order; and Meridian makes it painfully clear just how UNforgivable everything he was a part of is.
Over/under on whether Aurora's "message" on Ginger's behalf is going to be delivered chambered in .308 at about 2,500 fps?

Chops is easily in my top five favorites in the story thus far, and having him come to terms with the reality that forgiveness isn't going to come easily or possibly at all was a tough scene to commit to. I'd have much preferred to let him see the immediate benefits of leaving the Enclave by being forgiven and allowed to befriend Beans, but every time I thought about going that route I felt like I was trying to paint the sky tartan. He's done some truly terrible things to people just like Meridian, and while she might have moved past her urge to inflict immediate violence on him, there really isn't a reality where she lets him anywhere near her kiddo.
As for how Aurora handles her first encounter with The Family, I have a few ideas what might happen. Sure ain't telling any of you guys though!
Nice chapter, and a lot more setup.
You've got a knack for that.

^^ Can't have payoff without the setup!

I would imagine the possible realm of maybe lies in Beans being quite upset that mummy is being so horrible to the nice repentant Enclave grunt that had no say in his brainwashing.

Whaaaaat? Nooooo! That would never happen... :3
Aw hell yes another chapter! More setting up, more stakes, more of everything good. Great work Elbow, love this story to bits, I would buy a book if you ever decide to print it

*dusts off the ol' bubble jet printer from 1999*
^_^ Thankyee, this story turned into so much more than I expected at the outset.

Oh lord what did I do now

Not sure what you mean. Chops situation just reminded me of this old Stargate conversation.

Ohhhh! Yes that makes sense now. XD
Interesting end to the chapter.

That encapsulates her head space pretty friggin well!
Interesting. I have to say that from where I left off yesterday, I was intrigued that Rainbow Dash became sane (for the most part) and that she joined the Stable 10. So far, I think I will see what the next couple of chapters have in store before I finally decide whether to continue or not. One thing that has been bugging me for some time is Princess Luna’s appearance in Ginger’s (I believe it was her) dream. Her mystery may or may not intrigue me enough to stay with this story beyond the several chapters I’ve mentioned. I also wonder what happened to the zebras across the ocean. Did they survive the bombs, die out, or are they in a similar state to Equestria? Well, with the help of fast-scrolling, I might uncover the answers to my questions!
I can somewhat see how Julip’s religion helps her stay afloat in a world gone mad. Even though she used slurs at first towards Aurora and her team, she started to use less of them and got a perspective on how some ponies live outside of Enclave territory (I think that’s how it went. I will be honest, because of her potty mouth, I had to skip a chunk of her dialogue whenever she came up). One funny thing I found is how, in the beginning, Julip used stereotypes of the “outsider” ponies during 'second contact’ even though her higher-up told her not to (though, I don’t blame all of it on her alone).
Honestly, this story (and pretty much the multiverse that came from Fallout: Equestria) reminded me a lot about the stories from the Bible. On one hand, you have wickedness across the wasteland that has been going on since the bombs fell. Misery mixed in with despair irradiates out of the seemingly endless destruction of lives and lands to greed and insanity. Think of Noah’s Day, but switch humans with fantasy creatures. However, on the other hand, not all is doom and gloom, as there are people (ponies or otherwise) here and there who fight against such evils, whether figuratively or literally. People like King David and the Old Testament prophets and the Lord Jesus and His apostles in the New Testament come to mind. Besides the Son of the Big G Himself, the disciples and the righteous people of old weren’t perfect and did many sins. Imperfect as they are, God still used such people to fight against the darkness time and time again. And because of that, evil doesn’t stand unobstructed, to say the least. That is what I can see from many of the survivors of this fantastical hellscape. Even though evil may abound and hope seems impossible, there are still those who are willing to fight against it.
Well, until next time down the story’s road, peace, and may God be with you (even though you aren’t religious anymore)!

I guess the Steel Rangers that were also sent into New Canterlot will have to take care of Primrose on their own... talk about mission creep!
Plot armor be damned, I REALLY hope that since aurora is so young and full of magic, she just... Doesn't get the mane falling out and gravelly voice. At least until she would have normally had that happen from old age :/ she deserves to stay pretty for all she's been thru
uh oh
I get the impression that message is a bullet to the brain.
