At the bottom of Stable 10, the great generator that has kept its residents alive for centuries is beginning to fail. As solutions are sought within, one pegasus sets her sights on the very ponies who built - and possibly sabotaged - her home.

Great as always
Another great update to Aurora's story; and so much progress being made! Plans are being made, rebellion is fomenting in the Enclave, and we have our new quartet of characters! (RIP Ginger :'( )
Can't wait to see how much more mangled Aurora gets trying to break into what sounds like one of the most secure facilities the Ministries built!
I can't explain why, but I have the terrifying feeling that, at some point in this story, Roach is going to give his life to save Julip. I hope it doesn't happen. But I can't shake the feeling that another main character will die before all this is over, and his would be the most heartbreaking. As such, I'll be biting my nails while they go after Eshe...
Good chapter.
After all that Pinkie did for Cozy, I'm annoyed that Cozy still offed her.
Do not dare to let anything happen to Beans.

Thank ya

That's one of the hazards of obliterating civilization, building a pseudo-cult around yourself, and convincing the faithful you're there to lead them to the promised land. Once they start to suspect you orchestrated the apocalypse to put yourself in power, people tend to get huffy. And hopefully Fiona has more to offer the group than a voice for radio and a filthy mind. ;)
Naturally, Aurora is going to discover the Mariposa De-Limber 9000 and pop off a couple other legs to round out the image. I kid, though. I'm sure everything will be just fine and nothing will happen at all in the next chapter. Probably. Maybe.

As long as you're annoyed at Primrose and not me, then I'm doing my job! Glad you enjoyed the latest chapter!

*jots down something completely unrelated in her notes*

Oh, I'm definitely annoyed at you too.
How dare you write a story that makes me audibly grumble because I care about what happens in it and have no way to see why a character like Cozy wouldn't do what she did given the framing.
Curse you, I say.

XD I regret nothing!
This has been sat in my read later folder for ages and damn am I sorry for not giving it the attention it deserves much sooner. This is a criminally underrated fic!
Eagerly hoping to see more soon.
I'm enjoying the direction things are going so far. I kinda wonder if Aurora is going to let anyone into her heart like she did with Ginger. A proverbial romp in the hay might get Aurora's mind off of things for a little while.
That last scene with Eshe reminds me that dream time is weird. I've gone to sleep for like 30 minutes and woke up thinking that a whole day had passed; I've also gone to sleep for like 7.5 hours and woke up feeling like a week has passed.

I think it's safe to say that in the short-term, Aurora's going to err toward some old habits she had before leaving the Stable. Time will only tell. ^_^
And yis, dream-time is wonky (narratively convenient) like that!

:D More's coming down the pipe, though the next chapter's going to be a little bit more of a wait while I put words on digital paper! I'm glad you've given it a go and enjoyed what you found!
Elbow, I don't want Eshe to die, damn it... Somehow he wormed his way into me soul, he's so god damn good of a character.

Took me a week, but I seem to have devoured this story so far like a half starved pony who just found a cache of candied zap apples.
AM I picking up the clues that the Original Stimpack might be still working, and somehow didn't react with the Balefire bomb (likely because she was zapped away and then blown away fast enough) and is slowly regenerating her, especially after a chemical based booster? I didn't think ghouls healed...
Fantastic work! I have really enjoyed catching up on this and cannot wait for you two post more. I have read quite a lot of The fallout equestria fan fiction on this site and I can say in my opinion for what it matters, this is a fantastic bit of work.
Thanks again for the hard work and I can't wait for more.

Regarding the lack of Hellhounds and some other classic elements of the original Fallout: Equestria, I didn't want to take so much from the classic script that it risked not feeling like my own story. I felt like I could safely omit Hellhounds in favor of Deathclaws since, well, the Diamond Dog episode was so early in the series and never mentioned again that I thought it would take more time to reestablish them in reader's mind than I thought I had. That and, full disclosure, I didn't really like the Hellhounds as much as I do classic Deathclaws. I'm a biased author, haha.
On a much broader note, when I started writing Renewal my goal wasn't so much to rehash all the main tropes of Fallout: Equestria as it was to tell a new story on a relatively clean canonical slate. I did opt to borrow the concept of the six ministries and retained the name "balefire" bomb as an intentional nod to Kkat, but as you progress through the story I think you'll start seeing some of the background elements of the story begin linking up with what Aurora, Roach, and Ginger are experiencing. That's really all I can think to say without throwing a spotlight on some plot points you're approaching and I don't want to spoil the fun for when you get there.
I'm glad you're sticking with it and please keep sharing your thoughts as you progress! I really enjoy the honesty and I plan to keep this feedback in my back pocket for when I start mapping out the plot of my next story. ^_^

^_^ That's the fun part about writing fiction, you can make the world into whatever you like! I opted to lean toward favoring the chems and technologies of Fallout over a whole cloth rebranding to make "ponified" versions. And yep, Rainbow Dash is a pretty popular character to include in MLP fanfiction! I'm pretty happy with the direction she's taken as a character in Renewal even if she's well worn territory among the genre.

;) One might argue she's not exactly focused on tackling the big baddies of the wasteland as much as she's tunnel-visioned on figuring out how to save her home.
This chapter was a roller coaster.
I loved all of it.
However, my favorite part hands down was Fiona.
For should over the course of the next decade somebody have made the disconcerting decision to open the lid, not only would the survivors of that early Enclave have recognized the broken bodies of two of their own, but they would have all come to understand just why they felt all the Laughter had been stolen from their world.
NO! SHE CAN'T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH IT!!!
She looks like Gilda...
This chapter has been good, LOVE more RD and Fiona content.
Now here's my wildcard prediction. I keep feeling as though the points where the cloud cover is brought back up are hinting at the fact that it kind of has to go. The wasteland clearly can't fully heal while it's there.
I'd like them to collapse the weather factory, onto New Canterlot. Break the foundations of where it landed on the mountain and let that thing topple on down.
I REALLY like that julip and Roach are an item now just sayin <3 here's hoping Aurora finds a nice colt to settle down with someday lol
I'm warming up to the idea of Aurora being ghoulified, if that ghoulification were to come slowly / preserve her youthfulness somewhat. Her design is so pretty and I want her to be able to enjoy her youth for as long as naturally possible <3
