At the bottom of Stable 10, the great generator that has kept its residents alive for centuries is beginning to fail. As solutions are sought within, one pegasus sets her sights on the very ponies who built - and possibly sabotaged - her home.

It's a shame FIMFiction doesn't have an "Efficient Cable Management" tag. ;)

That's great to hear! Already a good chunk into #27 :)
Another amazing chapter, and daaang, things just get more heated up! Love it.
"I’m guessing nobody thought it might be a way to keep us from checking for ourselves."
...Hm. I seem to be having trouble understanding that line. Should that "nobody" be "somebody"? If not, I really don't know what this was meant to mean, sorry.
Another excellent chapter, though! :)
Thank you for writing!
Ah, so this is the server farm that everyone has been using to communicate all this time. And a significant number of the stables are still operational!
Okay, just putting this out there, but now would be a great time to make a public service announcement explaining the state of the world and send it out to all the remaining stables. They've got plenty of time before the team comes back up to them, and this would open up the option of help and badly needed cooperation. Even if it doesn't happen on screen, you've given us the foundation for any major of future bailout from the friendly 'lets all come out and work together' to the 'research stable 42 has found the answer to life the universe and how to restore magic' to 'Doom Stable 56 of military domination has awoken and is moving to obliterate all opposing factions!'.
There is so much inherent uncertainty here, just about anything could plausibly happen next... : )
Personally, I'm hoping that Luna used her banishment as a positive, and they discover one server is for a stable on the moon.
first order of business.. Roach and Briar def woke now
Damn tho, imagine being Taffy Tart, going about your day like any other, and getting a dm on your terminal from some unknown system admin. Wonder how that would go down in the Stable. Reading that bit was like watching a horror movie, lowkey expected it to happen as the events progressed, but still scary as hell. Love a good cliffhanger
Phenomenal chapter again. Will be looking forward to the next

We're definitely building up some momentum now!
10534457
Thanks for pointing out the error, and I'm glad you're still keeping up with the story!

They've got the keys to the kingdom, what will they do with them? There's so many ways this could go. ;) Lunar bases? Hm...
10535954
There's definitely a lot going on, which is why I've been so excited to get to this point in the story. Thank you for sticking with it this long, there's still a bit more to go!
10537082
Ah, you're welcome. :)
And aye, indeed, still quite enjoying it! :D
(...Just sometimes I might not be able to get through chapters of that length right away. :D)

Thoooough, reading the comments now, it does also occur to me that, hey, doesn't the Enclave apparently have access to recent Stable records? And haven't they been making regular trips to inspect this Stable? Hmm.
So that's possibly another potential source of Interesting Times. :D
10537106
Aww, only a bit?
Well, it's been a fun ride, at least, and not over yet. :D
Get rekt, murderbirb.
AJ starting to see the big picture. Wonder if she'll get 'disappeared' by Spitfire and her pet psychopath.
I wonder how there were survivors if the gas was so widespread. I mean, I suppose it would have been fine after the Enclave arrived and cleared the air, but it didn't seem like it was a super short time since there was a good bit of fast-forwarded footage before power went down. And I wonder why the survivors ceased to survive...
Also, speaking of the farm bit, it says both pecans and almonds and I'm not sure if I got confused and there are both, or you got confused and there is only meant to be pecans. :v
And I gotta ask: is it just coincidence, or is this stable heavily referencing the silos in Hugh Howey's novels (Wool, etc.)?

AJ's caught a whiff of something, that's for sure.
Regarding the existence of survivors, I'll touch on the "why" of that briefly in the next chapter. Suffice to say, some of those ponies running up the stairs were doing so with more purpose than just making it to the top. And yes! Stable 1 is a direct homage to Hugh Howey's "Silo" trilogy. It's the series that inspired me to resume writing and I thought it only fitting to redesign one of the Stables around the idea of his silos. While Renewal won't be replicating the greater story arc of the trilogy, I thought building the silo into the plot would be an interesting diversion from the usual "corridors and hallways" aspect of Stables. :)
Also, I apparently enjoy writing about nuts too much to settle on just one. I'll make a quick correction, they were only supposed to be pecans.
What a great read. I gotta tell you, I tried to get into some other FoE stories, but this one still wins for me. I did like Pink Eyes and Hired Gun (couldn't get into Blackjack), but I keep coming back to this one and love getting lost in it.
I don't think I mentioned it before, but I love what you were doing with Twilight and Discord. Maybe I missed it, but did that stop? It just seems to follow the life I imagine Twilight would take. Digging more into magic and uncovering all sorts of things, taking hints from adversaries, errant tests gone wrong. To me, that is kind of her MO prior to her going to Pineville, and I would think she would revert to those qualities after limiting her time with her friends.
I also can imagine AJ firing up the ol' terminal generator and truth-findin on the interwebs. She's a smart one, sure, but I want to believe she's the last to know.
I like the coal vein burning. It's reminiscent of Silent Hill and Centralia, PA. The lore there is fantastic to draw from. Add a big bad dude woth a triangle hat at the bottom and you have yourself a proper crossover!
Fun stuff as always Ellie. Can't wait to see how everybody develops further.
Excuse me, waiter.
There seems to be some Silo mixed in with my MLPxFallout.
Oooooooo I LOVE where this is going!!!
I really like how julip is developing. I can almost feel the bonds forming. I love how you wrote all this, Its honestly super satisfying to see the gradual shift in interactions over time. I actually like it better this way, it gives it more weight that they're finally getting along better. I really hope they become really good friends and develop a loving bond of friendship
Edit; spoke too soon lmao! Hopefully she can learn to empathize with these dustwings

You know that sinking feeling you get when something fundamentally, critically, terminally is revealed to you? Wow. This was entirely unexpected and I am LOVING IT.
OH THE NUMBERS IN THE SERVER RACKS ARE THE NUMBERS OF THE STABLES! don't tell me this is the primary stable hub for all the networks??? This is why the enclave keeps coming down, to see when the servers (and therefore the stables) stop getting data transmissions!!!
Edit: called it

Ayyyy! That was a super fun (and critical) reveal for me to write, I'm glad it resonated!
