I wonder how quickly divisions might arise once the Bos Monsters are explained, as having just one or two fortress locations just makes it easier for Bosses to hit them, but spread out makes it easier for Monster Swarms and Packs to take them.
Thats a lot of Dragon bias, given Im not sure about Ireland, but Wales has all the castles, minerals etc, and the UKs Peak District has Gem Mines? Blue John at Castleton?
So far, so good with the repairs, I take it given time constraints they cant add Hard Sheet to the hulls, like icrebreaking prows, especially given the location? Or any other form of consideration of armouring given Leviathans without seriously crippling performance? Even foam dispensers would be more trouble than worth for larger holes than talon, claw strakes, bite holes etc?
I hope someones looking up construction of ferrites, core steel, annealed wire for windings, enamels etc, just so they can keep the Victorean tech level while the magitech stuff is researched to keep the databases etc up and running. Best Industrial computers can last 40 years if not stressed, and in constant use.
I wonder if rotating pins with a chamfered end can be used to replicate Eink, MEMS displays, and as such dense memory storage, at least relatively? I know Gems can store immense amounts of information, SAW lines stores were used in VHS and TVs since the invention of colour transmission in the 60s, as part of the error correction systems.
I wonder if the Seamstress will end up on board as part of crew, fabric and medical division, instead of getting off? thats a lot of stitches after the next Monster Bash?
this chapter may not have a lot in the way of plot but it is lying down so much that will show up latter in the story.
grate righting team.
The Brittany arc.... Actually, I'd be interested in as much of that as possible. Would be interesting to hear your take on it.
Now we just need to hear a little more about the returnees holed up in Carrickfurgus.

Well, from what I researched most of the minerals they could mine in Ireland would either be zinc or lead. Not much good for dragons. HOWEVER, I wanna highlight one thing with post-Event world, and it's that I'd expect most of the metallurgy industry to veer away from standard mining and go for urban mining. Hell of a lot cheaper, and most of the construction steel isn't even needed since the population shrank down to below 1%.
Scrap industry for the win, yeah!
Plus there's a theory I have. In MLP we see Equestria has an ungodly amount of geodes that shouldn't naturally form in the conditions provided by Ponyville. That's why i believe a magic field fosters crystal growth and may lead to a vastly increased supply available on Earth in short order... both for dragons and for magitech goodies.
Honestly you might expect that answer from me, but I'd rather go the vanilla route. The WSU clearly declares in their mission statement they wish to reestablish supply chains in order to maintain human civilization. There's just no need to go magitech if they can get a few electronics plants under their logistics network. Gems and magic paired with information technology... that's way beyond the capabilities of a buncha mechanics in greasy coveralls, and I've already been rather generous with their capabilities and the productivity they can put out per man hour.
So yeah... magitech computer, above their paygrade. Unless the HPI starts passing their toys. Then again, the transactional nature of their alliance is pretty clear at this point.
Better that than a young perch. Beware of owls either way.
I’m guessing the fawn in a Disney fan.
