Scylla needs Operation Tiger carried out on it. Pity about Tokyo. But thats what you get with a World Wound class Demonic embodiment.
Given the shere power of Starswirl and Merlin, and that Sympathetic Magic is a lot older than Willy Duwitts FTL drive, I like this idea. That and Merlin makes for a great lookout as he can be round for a long time?
Dependng on the buildings, they can go a Long time without maintenance. A lot of the victorean houses where I live are 150 years old plus, have been redone in the last 10-40 years, and depending where the trees are or grow blocking gutters, Minor maintenance is a decadal thing if that. Double glazing units are also far more resiliant to weather and damage effects and can last longer. Lots of old sheep barns on the hills, when left, that just keep going. Same with the old WW2 bunkers, though being buried, a lot of flooding, material buildup and soaking.
If they in Belfast Lough, get the hipogriffs to check if the Sea turbines are still available? Plenty of power, but when that power station chimney collapses, you dont want it blocking the entrance to the harbour. Same with Dublin port etc?
At least theres the Titanic Display to keep the more exuberant and newer crew in check.
Family tries to stick together, but abilities are yet to be discovered still, or accepted.
Im worried about the Dragon Hatchlings that Fluttershy had hold of. They were cute and defenseless, in the eyes of Ponies, and Dragons hate cute. Dogs evolved Cute from wolves, so they wouldnt be massacred by human hunters as quickly? But there was so few dragon eggs, especially given the number of dragons in the local caldera. Canon has really messed up the structure of dragons for stories, without really investing in any coherent form overall? Would be nice to achieve a major consensus as that gives a better universe base, that AU can them work off and against, but in a consistent manner each time?
i love how you treated Merlin and Star this is going to play out so good and adding the deer just makes things sweet.
showing how the villions have a huge base of operations really makes things interesting.
we are now at the dry docks now to get dry and making repairs this is going to take time lots of time.
this is a grate story do keep up the grate righting team.

You made me doubt for a second but after a quick check I think you're in the wrong Lough. The SeaGen tidal turbines are in the Strangford Lough further south. They were built by Harland and Wolff in Belfast though.
As for Kilroot's chimney, I wouldn't worry about that. It's tall alright, but it's nowhere near the entry channel and the bay is three-miles wide where it's at. Might damage the conveyors if it falls though, which would royally fuck up the entire power station if the sorting bunker were to be hit.
Great target for position tracking though. If you run on visual, you can see it from almost anywhere in the entry channel and the radar return on the tower is excellent. Pair that with the first breakwater on your portside and you're golden for most of your entry.
Fair enuff'. Maybe I was a bit harsh on the local masonry. Working with ships tends to make your forget not everything wears out that fast.
Hmm, it does indeed seem like the lack of nurturing nature among dragons would be counterintuitive. I get it that reptilian species do not protect their young quite like mammals do, but they also don't have the intelligence of mammals or even sapient species, the latter being what I'd worry about. Because honesly, regardless of how durable a hatchling is (and in my headcannon even toddler dragons can take .22 LR alright), I can't fathom a species reaching a civilized form without at least some form of nurturing/raising the kids.
Particularly when it's been specified already that some species prey on young dragons (like rocs). Adults may be apex predators, but the kids are still fair game.
Biologically canon tend to stick to its guns, but it's their social structure that doesn't make sense. Either way, Earth dragons can make their own and I got my racial sheets to refer to so my headcanon can remain consistent.

Bit late for Copenhagen by now, but the minerals and plants research's got some potential.
Minerals wise, I'm going with the theory of 'magical isotopes' where continuous exposure to a magical field results -depending on the intensity- in an increasingly large portion of an element developping new properties. In as short a timespan as it had been since the Event in-story, such isotopes would likely be found in areas of high magic radiation. Convergence points that is.
Item introduced by Equestrian teams would also have a much higher portion of residual isotopes in them, coming from a planet with a much longer exposure to a similar field. Sirocco's lift gases, for instance, were such isotopes.
For the plants... living beings would be that much faster to develop mutations from the field. If animals get smarter from exposure, then surely something may happen to even common plants. Without exaggeration of course. No giant man-eating nettles on the horizon.

A food pyramid for dragon nutrition
According to Gemstones of the World by Walter Schumann, there are 200 types of gemstones in the world. Yesterday, I bought these boxes of mixed gemstones at Jay Cooke State Park’s Office and Gift Shop. For less than twenty dollars, I purchased three boxes of gemstones that could make three meals for a young dragon.

As humans should eat a variety of foods for a healthy diet, perhaps dragons should eat a variety of gemstones to keep themselves healthy. Perhaps, some gemstones are better at building dragon bones, while others are better for creating dragon blood and muscle. Still other gemstones could act as dragon sexual stimulant foods. As there is a food pyramid for human nutrition, someone could make a food pyramid for dragon nutrition.
I find it extremely amusing when magical beings underestimate humans or dont see them as a threat. It always kicks them in the ass later
