The 7th Element for Earth, is the Heart Of Gaia? As in the Crystal Heart is a second part of Equestria, but kept seperate?
The Parrots might be enjoying themselves now, but how long before they start to find out their relations to Chickens, or given the size, Ostriches?
Given the castle is so old, use the chimneys for vertical ducting, either totally taken out of use, or brick, blocked down to duct and flue? Keep the long drop toilets for composting instead of huge water use without digestion gas?
Wonder if that Eel is related to Sirens, and how edible or toxic it is? Scale armor, potion ingredients?
Sounds about right.
North?
Yeah. My thoughts on this camo pattern are about the same.
Yeah. the entire Pacific Coast of North America from Mexico to somewhere north of Vancouver Island is combustible. Especially from May to November. The Columbia and Okanogan Rivers do marvelous work as firebreaks in Eastern Washington and South Central BC, but both of them are used as irrigation water sources for all the apple orchards in the valleys, so there's still some fuel for wildfires. So, yeah. Fires.

Not sure about the long drop toilets. Going by pictures I found of the area, the drop is on the marina side where there is plenty of parking space that could be converted into greenhouses, but I genuinely don't know how viable it would be to process waste into fertilizer. Plus that may solve the issue of black water evacuation, but a proper colony still needs freshwater input/ grey water output in the piping, so not installing 'regular' toilets would only really decrease the water consumption, and they don't really need to watch it unless they're under siege, since they got a whole reservoir.
Installing the piping should be feasible with a bit of drilling. I mean, it's a friggin' castle with yard-thick walls. Good luck causing any real damage passing a pipe through the walls.
The vertical ducting is one thing to provide central heating (what with how thermally inefficient old castles usually are), but I've found interior pics that point to the building having electricity. It'd probably be more simple to rely on electric heaters in each room and put more effort in improving insulation levels. You know, put a layer of rockwool or something against the walls, then add some plaster blocks to mask it. The latter can even be used to divide the castle's halls into multiple bedrooms for privacy. At a glance, they have plenty of floor space in the keep for that, let alone the barracks and gatehouse.
Really, biggest thing the castle needs for comfort is piping and insulation. Anything else is a cherry on top, like generators, fuel and water tanks, inner farms so they can last longer when besieged. It's a castle eh.
