All I can picture is a hippogryphical nightmare moon screeching about putting frills on things.
I'm sorry.
Eponas son should be very glad that the Seapony side of Hippogriffs didnt rear its head in regrads to procreation.
If Epona watches long enough she will get all sorts of ideas that seem to be missing from almost everything except the most obscure corners of mythical monstrocities, regarding forms, genders, etc?
Intresting how the improved intelligence lions couldnt get out, unless something got them first? And Zebra have never been domesticable for some reason, threes not the certain neural pattern to be selected for in the first place?
I thought the way Rockhoof was going that theyd have to look into layrered weave tunnel paths through sections of the forest. Give it defined boundaries it can then bury and just leave circulation vents and sections in places?
Is it possible, given the inner voice, demon, for someone with enough belief to create a thought form that actually has better capabilities in actuallity than the person themselves?
Too bad that Epona is locked into her own mental box, one (possible) solution to her priestess is hellonistic one - hermaphrodite (or duel plumbing) ...
i like the way Epona works.
you have Epona and Aleksei right on the money friend grate writing.

To be frank, they all get the improved intelligence benefit (moreso for hooved species), it's just that since predators get more secure pens, it's a coin toss as to whether or not they might escape or starve in their enclosure. Really depends on the zoo. Some I've come across the lions I'm pretty sure could escape if backed into a corner. Others, the lions' pen is an unescapable concrete pit.
Enclosures for herbivores usually aren't this intricate. And give an elephant some wits, and they'll just unlatch the door and be on their merry way.
Wouldn't it be odd for someone to have an inner person like that? Sounds like overconfidence to me, and usually that manifests itself within oneself... yet what you say is technically possible. That's the way I wrote human magic: to be as flexible as possible. Believe something hard enough, and it might come true. Which is made easier because mental effects don't require the same kind of common belief you'd need to make a god or monster pop into existence.
That's a weird way of mimicking that 'fake it 'til you have it' about confidence. If you get a beginner wizard that's not really clever but thinks he is really hard... given enough time the magic might actually give him those wits he thinks he have. A weird way of gaining experience.
Inversely... it can have perverse effects. Take the village idiot. Normal creature... at first. But because everyone thinks he is actually a moron, the human magic would gradually seep away at his intellect and make him the moron his peers believe him to be. Lots of ways it can go badly... ya extrapolate that to a cult of personality or modern-day celebrities? Ouch.

Yeah, hermaphrodites and that kind of fuckery are surprisingly absent from the Celtic mythology Epona comes from. Which is weird coming from a mythology where a dude turns into a salmon because he's stressed out. *shrugs* Guess not all mythologies are as kinky as the Greeks'.
