As I understand it, a lot of postapoc runs on a violence economy.
Definitely something to consider- post-apoc 'wages'. Other than the Fallout: Equestria bottle cap economy, I don't think anyone ever brought up the topic. Thanks for the food for thought.
At least the sub went into the Ooze of the shelf instead of straight into the coast or harbour? Might even be intact enough to pop up on low power or emergency blow, at least to get the tower above waves for air circulation? Im pretty sure boomers still cant degass ocean water for the air inside.
Rusting parrafin tank next to the veggies? Somones going to be crying over their Cabbages?
I wonder if stone foundation Roman roads, or trackways worn down to bedrock, gorges and cuttings and embankments etc wil last much longer against active forests. The effects of mature trees on reemergent vehicles is just too horrific to think about.
Hydra verses Excaliber? If it cauterises, quicly done, if ti doesnt, eventually the hydra will become a useless ball of heads? Or Rockhoof can punt it off the cliff?
That, is a LOT of magic, and a lot of really nasty blood gods wanting to do the demons but on their terms in the area and further? I take it the sub taking an intrest would just force the portals?
Still, these guys killed Stephen and the Maries and want it all for themselves? I have no problems giving them everything thats going for them.
a grate chapter that is showing so much coming up in the story.
i do like your plan for a return rate , and i agree there needs to be some kind of a long term plan for currency.

I think I need to point out that Brittany (as in: the region around Broceliande) and El Tajin are supposed to be extreme cases, as opposed to regular forests with 'normal' vegetation. That's why I amped up the overgrowth factor over there so much: they're right on top of powerful convergence sites, in areas that were rather fertile to begin with.
That being said, there is a process to vegetation reclaiming roads and villages. Can't have oaks appearing at once. Needs to start off with shrubbery and vines dying a couple times to build up soil, then move on to pioneer trees like birch, before the heavyweights can finally prosper and give reappearing vehicles a proper hug.
Ain't a matter of 'if', only 'when', though in Broceliande's case that ain't gonna take too long as has already been described. It's countryside-level foundations, not the friggin' Paris catacombs or London's sewers.
I hate to sympathize with a blood god, but being sealed inside your own pocket dimension and tapped for magic does seem like a viable reason for wanting to give a demon its comeuppance, just sayin'. But eh, if they're going to play with fire why not pull out the friggin' napalm why they're at it, either way there's gonna be an angry god at the end of the path.
And when it breaks out... ooooh boy.

Oh, yes they can. O2 generators are on every sub, that uses electrolysis to split purified water (not sea water direct) into H2 and O2. There are also CO2 scrubbers and CO-H2 burners to help purify the atmosphere.
Even though it has been (ahem) years since I first set foot on a sub, I still have my dolphins.
Well they've screwed over Huītzilōpōchtli, I honestly can't bring myself to feel too bad about that. Silver linings and all, yeah?
