Trouble, trouble everywhere. At least the crews are up to the challenge.
I envy your writing style (and output), friend.
And thus battles begin anew. Let’s hope that nothing else goes too wrong. But then again, with the mess of evil upon the Americas...
Yea this will be very messy.
So far, The Stelth Sniper has teh upper cloud, but how long before teh Argus sight of the deity arranged againt them starts to throw targeting or corvids etc against her? Then again, Theres a dragon just about to realise his hoard is being attacked, and I hope everyone is well out the way when he goes Fireball. Glue might work when its warm, but generally most organic materials fail miserably when faced with a lava wrap.
So far with the new Hippigriff, so good, especially if her Blood God information leads to critical attacks to make Scyllas and co visit most unpleasant.
Now that Rockhoof has seen Broceliande more as a whole, he will get a better idea of what to consider for future planning and guidance, as narrow roads are good for defence, but not escape, and when accuracy is falling, too little room leads to too much error and gives true choke points where even carts get stuck or even jammed in place. That, and someone better start working on overall sanitation at least. Too many small houses crammed together, even with that rapid plant growth, can cause likely overload of basic pit tanks and drops? Possible large seep pits and drains round the edge of the palisade, feeding teh forest edge, but hopefully preventing the roots forcing their way back into and up the channels?
A Paladins sword? A Second one of at least 6, for Swords Of Revealing Light? Or it just happens to be the European super mythical blade and the rest of the items are something else and not say Murumasa, or Masasume, or whatever the Japanese version was?
Going to be very intresting if having a Crystal Tree at each end of the link, bridged origionally by Starswirl, that intermediate realms can be usedto replace teh B frames with I frames through the largest crystal structure in that realm. Which given jupiters possible diamond core, and neutron stars crystal iron crust, as long as theyre used just for anchors, repeaters, Starswirl needs the cosmological information from Earth as much as Sunburst does the magical functions from Equestria. Now lets see if they find the Ultimate Generalised equations. That is, if they can handle using the magic that tells them that Pinkie Pie, but believeing it drives entities to terminal madness.

Either you are tipsy, Intentionaly misspelling, or just sleepy.

Flattered. The output though, most of that is owed to a really bad streak of insomnia. And an habit of filling gaps in my time with more writing.
Style-wise... I ain't perfect, I know that. The pacing could use improvements. The characters are a bit bland. Some scenes and whatnot could easily be shaved off without hurting the story.
I've been thinking. With this 'volume 1' nearing its last arc, I've been toying with ideas on how to narrate 'volume 2'. So far I was thinking that instead of trying to narrate multiple separate stories at once, I would restrict the focus a bit more and switch to first person, to make it more 'personal'. Instead I would either devote entire chapters to one group, or divide volume 2 more as a collection of separate stories.
Not sure tho'. Restricting focus like that could also come with the con of becoming boring whereas the multiple separate arcs can keep chapters... 'fresh', if a bit hard to follow.
I'm just an amateur writer who writes a very niche story. I'm no pro.

* Stops pouring gasoline while smoking a cigarette * Messy? Oh yeah, that's the top footballer right?
These guys uh... What we got in there? Ya got cartel-cultists following a God of the Underworld, ya got a buncha blue-collar sailors and oil workers armed to the teeth, and some more demonic cultists, but they're also taking the metaphorical piss on the ruins of Aztec cults.
No way this could end badly. * throws cigarette *
And if I'm being pissy against my own characters, the WSU sort of handed Belfast over to IRA remnants and sold off national treasures to a shady UN sub-group in the form of the HPI. Ain't like they're perfect either.

Buddy, given that it's all happening at Roncevaux Pass and there's a mention of a Paladin on the Frankish side, feels to me like telling the sword's name outright would be insulting my readers' intelligence. I mean, come on...
All the artifacts tied to the Elements of Concord, I already have a list of.
The main reason why I have them be so intent on getting airborne transportation in the way of flying carts and airships is precisely because rapid overgrowth makes the terrain so difficult. With limited manpower, maitaining roads, even enchanted to combat plant infestation, just seems impossible. There's only like three dozen of them in Trecesson (and two dozen across the forest over in Comper), so the scope of work they can pull off is limited.
Defensively speaking... it works in their favor. Properly prepared, the bocage in the fields heavily favors defenders (see Normandy in '44), the palisade on the outer side of the village helps isn't the best but... it's something. And then they still have an actual castle and Merlin's little realm from which he can probs evacuate them.
Overall, sanitation doesn't worry me overly much. It's a rural area so it probably already had a fairly large septic tank prior to the Event. The building only looked medieval, their use in modern tourism implies they had electricity and running water already, so I wouldn't even be surprised if ater came from a nearby aquifer (under the moat most likely) and the septic tank was centralized for the castle's outbuildings. And then the sludge -if properly handled and treated- can be mixed with manure from the farm for use in the fields. It's overkill with magic helping stuff along so much, but it's a good way to get rid of it.
Plus in all likelihood Cernunnos would be delighted if they started fertilizing the forest.

neat. Lightships were very useful when they were used.

went and looked. apparently only 10 of the over 120 maybe 130 or more lightships made by the US are museums. 3-4 are operational but not servicing in their intended role.
a grate chapter. so much to think about.
