You know, I had the same idea but at the end Dash was still the one saying to not move to fast and being indecisive. I think the earth-pony magic is more of an incentive to ponies that are already attracted to each other but are afraid to take the leap. If they really don't think it would work then they wouldn't start the relation. If there's a chance that the relation could work then the magic just offered incentive enough to give it a shot

Also, there are many names for it. The most commonly used ones are RariShy, Flutterty, and Flarity. So you can go with just about any of them.
