Charcoal Quill

Does he even write stories anymore? Geez, what a flufflenugget.

In this behind-the-scenes explanation of the Mare in the Moon incident, follow Nightmare Moon and Princess Luna as they encounter strange, artificial beings from another world. A Portal 2 crossover. Contains two stories:

Of Cores and the Alicorn: After what seems like an eternity, Wheatley and Nightmare Moon cross paths and discuss their respective exile in space.

Guerrilla Corefare: Nightmare Moon is free, but the magical accident that released her did more than just send her back to Equestria. Now, from behind the scenes, Luna exploits Nightmare's newfound weakness in order to sabotage the plans for eternal night.

Note: As older stories (in fact, written before the debut of Season 2), these are fairly amateurish, relatively speaking, and contain speculative-at-the-time characterization for Luna. With the exception of a few minor edits, however, they have been submitted in their original forms for posterity's sake. This isn't Airstrip One, after all, and I don't work for the Party.

This was fucking awesome and makes perfect sense in terms of canon as well.

If these are what I think they are, this is going to be good. :pinkiehappy:

And now I'm finished with part 2. That was beautifully done, bravo! Encore! I like how you had Luna utilize the personality cores, very inventive, very boss. And I'm glad Wheatley got his happy ending, I never really did hate him at the end of Portal 2. Great show, definite favorite!

Me neither. Wheatley was an anti-hero rather than a villain. He never really understood how much responsibility came with that much power.

You should write about the Equestrian adventures of the four Personality cores!

Nolan North was responsible then, he voiced the three defective cores.:trollestia:

Not that I want to blame you, but I think you forgot the "You still haven't got the sixth Element. The Spark didn't work!" part.
Anyways, this is not a good story. It's an Awesome one!

I fear that really, there isn't much further I can go with this without treading the ground that other fics have gone. Most of the humor in these first two parts come from Nightmare Moon trying (unsuccessfully) to deal with the off-kilter personalities of the Cores, but since she's gone, that aspect falls to the wayside. Luna seems much more tolerant of their idiosyncrasies, so I suspect that were this to be continued as a slice-of-life story, it would more or less end up like Progress, except with personality cores instead of Sundance and Hoyden.

I do in fact have a vague concept for a third part, but I doubt that I'll continue this story past that. And even if I get around to a Part Three, it probably won't be any time soon - I have half a dozen half-finished pony fics already, and that's not even taking into account my other, nonrelated projects and the dreaded Real Life.

TL;DR: Might eventually make this a trilogy, but don't get your hopes up for anything beyond that. It's almost certainly for the best.

Ah, yes, I did think about that when writing this. But I did have Luna mention "keeping our body on autopilot", right? In fact, that comment - the one about the sixth Element - could easily have been construed as nudging Twilight in the the right direction, keeping the conversation rolling towards its logical conclusion while helping to cut back on Twi's unnecessary exposition.

Fact core has the best lines. Ever.

Wait, The Wonderbolts are fans of Scootaloo?:rainbowhuh::rainbowderp:

Yaaa-haaa-hay!!! BEST. CROSFFIC. EVAR:pinkiehappy:. MOAR!!!

Wow. At the end I've even started to cry... Wow, that was a masterpiece my friend. Have a good life :raritywink::rainbowkiss::pinkiehappy::ajsmug::derpytongue2::yay::scootangel:

...You....Are a genius.

This was great. I'm going to track it just in case.

Amazing, why was this not featured!? :fluttercry:

Nevertheless, i'm following you, just in case you spew up more stories with RICK!!!!!:flutterrage:

But yeah, awesome, ADVENTUROUS story. 8)

You managed to actually give sense as to why Nightmare Moon stood unmoving while a rainbow laser approached her and obliterated her.
You, sir/ma'am, are a genius. Coincidentally, I just finished watching the Portal 2 walkthrough. :twistnerd:

Ponies make sense when a crossover is made.:rainbowkiss:

Particularly frightening experiences with supernatural entities can momentarily stun even the most hard-bitten mercenaries, resulting in lack of attacking ability and a 50% movement speed penalty. In some cases, this can be prevented by wearing a pumpkin on one’s head.

WHOO!!!! looks like we got a tf2 fan here!!!!!! :pinkiehappy: :pinkiehappy: :pinkiehappy:

Ooh! I've seen this story's cover art flying around the Internet! I couldn't figure out where it originated. Well, now I know!

Snerk. Nice. Amusing and awesome. I loved the interplay between everyone and the cake story was adorable.

Loved it! Nice, light, and funny. A good time for everyone.

I know the Fact Core's thing is giving inaccurate facts, but you wear the Saxton Hale Mask to avoid being scared by the Horseless Headless Horsemann, not the Horseless Headless Horsemann's Head.

Okay, so how is Chell going to get out of that wheat field?

It's priceless! I just love this one! Would you kindly write more Lunacy-verse stories about Luna and her spherical friends? And I wonder how Celestia will react to them... and how they affect events of the show.

Fact Core was never perfectly accurate with facts. For example, look at this comment:

"Plastic tips of shoelaces are called aglets. Their true purpose is sinister" noce Justice League Unlimited reference.

MAke a sequel that explores their adventures in Equestria.

This is AWESOMENESS!!! :rainbowkiss: Have a like and a moustache! :moustache:

This is literally one of the most adorable and hilarious things I have ever read! Oooh my gosh. I can so see this fitting into canon!
Aaaand this is going on the "awesome stories" shelf!
I love the thought processes. Space Core is spot on. Wheatley is spot on and hella adorable. Rick is hilariously perfect (dat hitting on Rainbow doe) and Fact... Just... utter perfection.

Take all my likes.
Have all my favs.
Well Done.

FACT: Science itself can be nullified by the Laws of Plot Convenience.

You may make a sequal using the knoilige of those foe something good . well bye .

FACT Luna doe not controls rhr stars. Nowhere in canon is it ever mentioned
