A Random Guy

Sometimes I forget I have the social skills equivalent of a dried up worm on the edge of the sidewalk.

just a head's up, you misspelled the title of the fic. specifically the word strains.

7559841 Son-of-a-bison, I did that in the cover art too!

7559859 and Equestria in the cover art

7560415 Oh...

I'm going to cry in a corner now... and fix it later.

When consuming biomass from living creatures shouldn't she gain the memories they have?

7560886 Do you want to see every memory of every single creature she eats through the entire story?

Don't worry, I got it covered later.

You got to turn back into a griffon. Trouble follows Blackwatch, and I don’t want you bringing me any touble.”

See the problem?:duck:

Neither would i. But in some some cases yes but mostly just a big fat NO...

7602276 no need.:ajsmug:

end justifies the means, right?:twilightblush:

At least in this case, even if it wasn't at all pleasant:pinkiesick:

I can say I like this Gilda more than I like Alex Mercer.

At least, you know, the way I play him.

Wow, interesting presentation of Pinkie in a high stress leadership role.

:rainbowderp:...............................are we sure that's Pinkie Pie still? :rainbowhuh::applejackunsure:

7625937 I can confirm this Pinkie is 100% real. She's just stressed, that's all.

This is funny, I like that. I gave my thumb up on this chapter.

That's what the spy-roach reminded me of! The Fifth Element!

Interesting story so far. Liking it.

“Then I give you full permission to do what you’ve been doing all morning,” Pinkie says. She kicks up her back hooves onto the table and folds her forelegs behind her head. “Ruin Blackwatch’s day.”

Translation: Kick the ever loving shit out off Blackwatch and look Badass while doing it.

Easy-peaszey!

7633469 I have not seen The Fifth Element, so... coincidence?

7633816
Seriously? If that's the case, then yeah, huge coincidence.

That's also something I'd recommend correcting at the earliest opportunity. Fifth Element is just a fantastic movie all around. It's a simple story (save the girl, save the universe) but very well told; the acting is just fantastic all around (Bruce Willis as Corbin, Gary Oldman as Zorg); the soundtrack is amazing. It has so many fantastic, memorable scenes to it! The roach is one of them (live roach, no CGI BS), you can't miss it. It's one of my top favourite movies for good reason. Honestly, go see it, I can't imagine you'd be disappointed.

Edit: I also can't believe how much the original and officials trailers blow. This one captures the movie well:

Gilda be like "No more escort quests!"

“Sure, why not,” I say, suppressing a sigh. “That’s going to work just as much as the medic.”

No it doesn't. It makes you want to drink bleach instead.

A successful infiltration.
Everything went perfectly.

Warning clicking on this link will take you to one of the many dark parts of youTube.
I take no responsibility for any video that you watch past the one linked above, and furthermore I also do not accept any responsibility for physiological damage caused by the link above or any related videos you watch because of that link.

It may seem like many deus ex machinas but something is off about that.

Remember the shapeshifting...Alex and James were both massively limited by gameplay and story segregation, same with the water weakness that doesnt actually exist...

7697490 What do you mean by that? Is there something that isnt lining up with the game? This is a different world, so some powers may behave differently.

7697666 Basically, there are things James and Alex can do that they can't do in the game because of the limit of "its a videogame and all those things would be very hard to put in"
In the games, Alex and James stay humanoid, they technically have no real need for that....
they could easily look like whatever they want, they can have as many limbs as they want, turn into a puddle of biomass and slide around, shapeshift around attacks, turn into whatever they want, besides practice, imagination (both of which could probably be sped up by consuming something that has the ability, i.e Electric eel for generating Bio-electricity instead of figuring it out the hard way, or Gaining the powers of a Bombadeir beetle, or pistol shrimp, or mantis shrimp.) and having enough biomass, there arent really any limits to what they could turn into...

basically, they have proper shape shifting.....not just growing weapons and stuff,

and the water weakness isn't actually a thing, so they, and Gilda, could totally explore the oceans, eat a whale (all that biomass) and sharks (shark skin might be useful....also, shark tooth chainsaw limbs/tendrils) and generally be left alone if they really want...
...and dive for sunken loot as well i suppose...
there are a few fanfic authors who go with this, and show what they can do....

7697692 Good points. However, given how slow Gilda has been figuring this stuff out, she's not exactly the most clever griffon on the block, I don't think she's going to figure this out until way down the line, if she does at all. Also, Gilda isn't set on getting more powerful, she just wants to find Rainbow Dash and get her sconeshop back. Eating whales and getting bigger isn't on her top priority list. So I may do something like that, I may not. If other authors did it before, good on them. I'll do it if the story allows it.

so i'm guessing shes going to learn about the whole "gain memories" thing?

7701332 Like I said, not the most clever griffon out there.

Ah, incoming boss battle! I hope that it involves something clever, like her using the big dude as a weapon against them.

I do also hope that we get a bit of a twist in the narrative coming up. It would be good to see that Eureka and his squad is playing catch-up to someone using Blacklight for something even more nefarious. That Gilda is a product of that, and not some spontaneous super-mutation of the existing plague would make for a more interesting narrative as it adds a whole other layer to go up and give some nice ground for being able to question Blackwatch's methods; is the situation that bad that such extreme measures have to be taken? If so, then fuck :twilightoops:

7560886 Not if the brain is destroyed before consumption.

Heh...
Memories of the falled unlocked!

He grapples and squeezes the air out of my lungs!

I can't wait for her to realize that that she doesnt need to breath....then when they try and choke her again, she just smirks at the futility...

To use your Perk Points, please purchase the Perk Point DLC.

How much does the DLC cost, and what are the options to use the perks on?

Should have had Gilda point out to the mare she was arguing with that the mare is totally encased in armour and Gilda can't see what she look like at all.

Pretty good fights. Too bad Gilda isn't bright enough to deal with the unicorn now after he made all those threats, but we'll see where this goes.

The Perk Point DLC is currently not available at this time, but can be purchased with the Season Two Pass. Perk Points, once available, can be spent on powerful upgrades, such as:
- Increased Speed
-Increased Damage
-Louder Screams
- More Eyes
The Season Two Pass also induces incredible DLC content such as:
- Fireside - A brand new 5 minute mission
- Blackbox - A new set of collectables
- Orange County - A new expansion to the existing map that adds a whole 8 Square Feet of new area to explore!
- Power to the Player - A content expansion that includes Laser Breath, Electro-Fist, Time Travel, and my favorite, the Chicken Cannon, which allows Gilda to shoot Exploding Chickens out of her mouth.

All this and little more is included in the Season Two Pass, all for the low price of $59 99... and 99 cents.

drat...don;t have enough.

...fun fact, all but the time travel should be things Gilda could learn to do with enough time and things eaten...

Hey, anyone know how Gildas gonna get the other powers? Cause claws become practically useless mid way in the game, at least from my experience.

It’s going to be a long, quiet walk back to the daycare.

Famous last words.

7727595 I got featured? I guess that's cool.

I think we're good on the holding pattern, let's have some forward narrative movement next.

Alright... Who wants to bet that RD is/was/will be infected? I do
