This story is a sequel to A 73rd Use for Snails
Five years. Five years ago Snails joined Toriel in her home in The Ruins and they were able to call themselves a family. The orphan outcast finally had a place to call his own, and a mother who only wants the best for his future.
Unfortunately, in The Underground, there lives a flower. This flower does not believe in these concepts that Snails has found, and after his last defeat, he by no means will let this intruder find peace. No, this time, while it gains the last of the power it needs, it will watch him suffer.
With these two foes facing off, the question becomes; Will Snails have the determination to meet Flowey's challenge?
Reading the prequel allows you to see how Snails and Toriel met five years ago, but otherwise is negligible to reading this. However, spoilers for Undertale will be shown even starting with this first chapter, so if you have not played the game, I implore you, play it first.

The Plunder seed was unexpected
well now... this is interesting. Snails is most certainly stronger after five years of living with Toriel. She may be coddling, but I doubt she wouldn't teach him how to defend himself. But with the Plunder Seed weighing on his back, and Flowey being able to drag thing in from Equesteria can he hold out.
I do wonder how things have changed in the underground after five years though. Papyrus and Sans might still be the same, but Mettaton is probably in his final form by now since Alphys had five extra years to work on him. Heck Alphys might even be dead, either by suicide or that foretold accident the Gaster Follower was talking about. Undyne's status depends on Alphys's, but there is also the Scraggy Lookin' Monster Kid who had five years to grow up. While lots of stuff is probably the same, it still can be different enough to throw off canon by quite a bit.
